I'm giving this novel 5 stars just for how innovative and fresh the idea of combining a road trip and a survival game together.

I also like that the MC isn't a white knight/pe*vert/ladies obsessed dude like most MCs in other novels nor is he a complete monster in personality. He acts like a human. With all the good and bad that entails. MC is smart, pragmatic, emotionally and physically tough. He's also selfish, greedy, ruthless and very clear to himself even from the beginning that his first priority in this... more>> death game is himself (taking care of himself and going home).

He would help people if it doesn't cost him much or doesn't endanger him especially if it benefits him in an indirect way but he's not the type to care much about strangers. Especially since the game actively encourages PvP among players, at the moment he only trusts his car's AI and pet fox, while he has only a financial exchange relationship with the players. Sure, there is a difference in the level of friendliness and priority he gives them but there is basically no trust of a true friend.

MC is OP but that's not really a bad thing in my opinion in this novel as the game is quite brutal and there were already a lot of misery vividly portrayed among the players and some were driven crazy/psychotic due to it. I don't like to see an MC who has too much angst or drama on his life so its good that the author didn't focus on that. I also like his rare type of personality as I seldom see it in other novels.

Plus, although the MC is OP compared to others even the big bosses, the big bosses are still very powerful and rich themselves. MC had to take creative measures in order to get rid of some of them (in 2nd world). He also had more materials than any other individual players not only due to his system but also because he was smart on how to use his gained materials to make a steady and long term profit. Still pretty early into the stort (awaiting for futher translation), so my review may not be applicable later on.

The concept of this novel is rather interesting. I liked how they blended the roadtrip element with hardcore survival quite well.

Translation is pretty good, I didn't really have any issue reading through the sentences.

My personal issue is that the "game/survival" balance of the story is completely screwed. Everyone basically has to open their crate and pray for RNG while our MC is basically on vacation mode with his Hint System. TLDR: Interesting novel but the core structure is very repetitive together with an unlikable protagonist. When combining extra annoying elements like racism and constant sexist comments that trys to maintain PG relationships... But to top it all off, the whole game world is poorly balanced and its design isnt the best either, though interesting at the start. Apparently every earthling within functional working range got transmigrated into an apocalyptic desert world with a game scenario that functions similar to tower type novels but without the climbing. The base setting is interesting, but it is an extremely repetitive environment, and every new element/development being added is poorly done, such as randomly adding pubg battlegrounds event.

Now to the second, the balancing for the game, and especially so for our protagonist, is so poorly done. The poor game design factor only enfuels these aggrevations. And with the snowball effect, our MC is already gigachad within a few chaps. Even if new power confrontations are added, it is double downed to feel meaningless with zero tension due to his equally broken all powerful system. And let me tell you this novel does not feed on the positives of op protags at all, even remotely.

And speaking of our protag, this is the third. Our MC is just very unlikable, and this is further reinforced the farther you read to the story, as our blank canvas of an MC, keeps getting splattered with black ink while contradicting how he normally acts compared to past actions. Our MC is also the ultimate hypocrite. And with this, he is also racist, and more annoyingly so, extremely pe*vertedly exist.

This continues another point, the fourth. The amount of sexualization in the novel. Normally as a male reader, I honestly do like having some parts like this, romance, and/or smut; however, what should never be done, is having every single female I'm the world being written as an onlyfans sl*t looking for freebies, and every encounter being measured in cleavage... I swear most of these apocalyptic novel writers do this 😩 I wouldn't be surprised if the MC gets s*x s*aves down the road at this point, but I also doubt he would. Why?

Well this brings to the fifth point. The romance and lust is never leaned in and explored. With the literal amount of unnecessary sexualization emphasis, if they at least written in cardboard harem and/or smut content, I could've at least past by these two points, as at least then, that writing would've served a purpose. But what we get is stuck in the awkward line of a virg*n airhead jp protag and a pe*verted bastard Chinese protag...

This flows into the sixth point... the characters- were weak as fk, as in their depths and developments. And reading this novel... really just felt kike the essence of the vast majority of Chinese novels if you've read them. A: Self contradicting arrogant op selfish MC B: Heavy forced 2d antagonists C: All girls defined as prostit**es D: Poorly designed developments that miracously can only and will only affect the MC who is God E: Everyone's s*upid compared to MC Et cetera. Et cet. Etc. You. Get. What. I. Mean.

And like with these types of Chinese novels, whether it's due to the brainwashing of the Chinese government, or to bootlick the drugs of the CCP to get backed, there is nationalism, and there is racism, and there is inherent arrogance. The seventh point.

Now I can go on more, and complain more, but I'm tired of typing. If you've read this far, I think the story is honestly a 2.5. It feels like it deserves a 2 but the author makes it interesting enough to read deep, which is pretty hard achievement, so that made it a 3.

Unique concept but executed poorly. If the first 20 chapters set the pace for the rest of the novel then I can safely say it's a boring novel with too much emphasis on loot hoarding. The MC has an unexplained video game walkthrough system, not a hint system.

In this type of 'OP MC' novel the make or break relies on character interactions and world building. The world itself is still a mystery and very dystopian so I don't have much to comment on. I like the concept of survival mixed with mode of transportation that can be upgraded.

Even though there isnt much tension due to the MC having a golden finger, it is still fun to see what he gets and how he modifies his 2nd life, the car.

I really liked the development of the story until it became a story about (Spoiler) the battle between gods and the protagonist tries to become a god. The wacky races and car upgrades were fun to read and then various characters were interesting and somewhat developed even if they each have one main trait. For example the Russian guy likes alcohol, there is a girl into Cthulhu, a girl who's good at selling, a girl that really likes animals, and two sisters who easily find treasure.

The first two arcs were really fun, with the focus being the MC scavenging and upgrading his car. But after a few arcs, it just turns into continual battle which the MC always wins with superior firepower - there's basically no strategy.

Romance: none for now but the MC keeps making le*d remarks which is just gross, and seems to be collecting a kind of s*ave harem.

A male fantasy OP protag. Still refreshing enough with the different worlds, item upgrades, and OP hoarding skill. Readable MTL. Does get repetitive but if you aren't expecting super quality content, a good time wasting story.
