Rising from the ashes, a fallen noblewoman stands to save humanity!

“Countess Romelia. I’m breaking off our engagement,” declared Prince Henri, right after defeating the Demon King. By the prince’s side were Saint Elizabeth, the sage Ekaterina of the Unreturning Forest, and the Eastern swordswoman Lu Hime, all pointing accusatory fingers at her as “useless.”

But the prince and his comrades didn’t know something. They didn’t know that Romelia possessed a miraculous power called “Grace,” which bestows good luck.

Having lost her fiancé and been abandoned by her friends, Romelia did not break. Her homeland was still infested with the Demon King’s forces, and many people were held captive by the demon race as s*aves. To rescue them, Romelia embarked on a mission, encountering numerous difficulties along the way.

First, she didn’t have an army. There were no healers to tend to injuries, and she lacked the funds. But Romelia was determined to solve every problem aggressively.

“No army? Let’s intimidate local lords and take their forts.”

“No healers? Let’s negotiate with the church for their assistance.”

“No money? Let’s negotiate with merchants to secure funds.”

“Newly recruited soldiers are inexperienced? Let’s have them gain experience by hunting monsters.”

And so, Romelia, along with her loyal followers, marches into battle!

Having finished vol 1, and seeing as no reviews exist for this on either the LN or the WN, I thought I should leave one, at least to help convince anyone mildly put off by the synopsis to try it out.

This LN has all the makings for a dramatic war record, with a decently competent MC who (so far) knows how to establish a lordship. The novels starts off dramatically just moments after the death of the demon king and takes off from there, quickly establishing the characters surrounding the... more>> MC, the details around them, and the just enough of the situation to not leave the reader in the dark. Past the first chapter, the story quickly settles into the main plot of army building and the glimpse of war.

If there are people put off by the synopsis (which I was myself at first), let me assure you this LN isn't the fun MC will steamroll everyone type (at least from Vol 1). Contrary to the synopsis, the MC isn't at all the happy-go-lucky, "everything will go my way" type that such a descriptor usually implies. The MC is fairly realistic, quickly getting over a break up of a burnt out relationship. And while there is no "woe is me, " the MC seems to take the experiences she's had from it to form her opinion on how to build her army. And while the MC has the "good luck" effect around her, it doesn't play a major role like other more convoluted storylines with "good luck" powered MCs. Rather the MC herself is smart enough and stubbornly hardworking enough to make the changes needed build the foundations of an army.

For anyone interested in a decent fantasy war novel, but put off by the easy going tone of the synopsis, I do recommend giving it a try. <<less

This novel carries a similar tone to Wortenia Senki, particularly in its focus on military strategy and maneuvering. However, it sets itself apart by stripping away romantic subplots, allowing the narrative to concentrate more fully on leadership and tactical depth.

The FMC stands out as a refreshing deviation from genre norms. She is fated to lead—not through overwhelming martial prowess, but through intellect, decisiveness, and an unshakable sense of purpose. Unlike many protagonists burdened with emotional or romantic entanglements, she approaches situations with a level-headed pragmatism.

Her choices, for good or bad,... more>> are guided by realism rather than lofty ideals or sentimentality, which adds a grounded and mature dimension to her character. It’s a compelling read for those who appreciate a thoughtful blend of strategy, character development, and world-building—without the distraction of forced romantic tropes. <<less
