There’s a saying, isn’t there? All s*umbags have one thing in common: they exhaust all the good words first, then commit the worst deeds. He Qingqi was deceived into marriage for ten years. Just when she finally decided to divorce, she was squeezed dry of her last bit of value by Fang Xuanyao. She was deceived, persecuted, and handed over to another’s bed by the person she once loved.

Overnight, He Qingqi went from a well-known director in the country to a woman scorned by everyone for cheating and drug ab*se. On her way to sign the divorce agreement, she was unexpectedly involved in a car accident. Her only regret was not being able to make up for a lifetime of harm to Zhuo Zhiwei…

But who would have thought that upon waking up, she would find herself at the scene of a girl group audition show she participated in when she was young? And the former scandalous object of her affair was in her prime.

So, how about figuring out a way out of this together first?

……

Later, at the one-year anniversary signing event of the group, some fans unintentionally captured a set of videos. In the video, He Qingqi smiled and signed autographs for fans, then casually picked up the bubble tea from the upper left corner belonging to Zhuo Zhiwei and took a sip. Zhuo Zhiwei, who was rumored to have severe OCD, watched her take the wrong drink with wide eyes, then calmly took it back as if nothing happened. Their lips lingered on the same straw for a long time.

Fans of He Qingqi and Zhuo Zhiwei: No… no, they just drank from the same cup of bubble tea, right? It’s… normal to use the same straw! But as the actions between the two became more intimate and they became less inclined to conceal their thoughts, fans from both sides panicked.

Sobbing Fan: Qiqi (He Qingqi), Mommy won’t allow you to date early!

He Qingqi showed her marriage certificate: No dating, just got married.

  • This story is very similar to "grab the heroine and run away" so if you liked that or read this one first both are good reads. (Though I'm a bit more biased to "grab the heroine and run away" hehe)
  • MC and FL are both beautiful, kind, and talented. MC is super rich, charming, funny, and coquettish. While described as beautiful, FL still stands out to everyone a bit more. Though they think that the other is more beautiful. FL is an iceberg beauty but gets shy/ caring infront of MC. Also, compared to other stories FL is much more possessive and easily jealous of others and MC. MC doesn't let any misunderstandings happen though between others and them
  • There are some explicit scenes, mainly MC as the top.
  • The story between MC and her ex is bittersweet. While FL is obviously a million times better, the story does a good job of "redeeming (?) " in a sense/explaining, the behavior of her ex.
  • FL is very patient and is very caring to MC and MC does her best to repay FL for her love and kindness. So it's a very satisfying conclusion/story to read.
  • Side characters are also quite nice, her family and teammates are super sweet and are amazing support systems.
  • while I did mention GTHRA, that story had more detailed survival show competition descriptions as it was modeled (i think) around [produce 101] an irl idol making show.
  • this was definitely a very fun, sweet, and happy read considering that MC finally has the chance to live the life she wanted and to appreciate everyone that loved and supported her.
  • spoiler about her past life :
    Spoiler

we get a chapter where we discover what happened even after her death. Even though she died in her past life, her ex wife still didn't "win" or get the things she desperately wanted because of the people that loved MC protected and sought justice for her even after her passing. It just goes to show how solid her friends and family were as her support system

    [collapse]
  • this is definitely a recommended read. Browse through the tags because they definitely do a good job describing the general themes to the story, I hope this gets more people appreciating it, happy read!

It's just the first chapter but the writing for it was really engaging. It portrayed the MC's feeling, thoughts, problems well, not like the others where they just give you a bit of detail. This one actually dwell into the problem and her feelings without much details needed. It also shows what happened after her death and how people around her reacted to her death.

Overall, the first chapter was an engaging opening for this novel.

The novel is quite heavy. He actually has a good ending, and for all the characters (well, except for one, I think you'll understand who), even in the world where the MC came from. I will not spoiler, I read in Chinese and did not understand the ending of the extra a little. More precisely, who exactly came back (without spoilers, I also think you will understand who we are talking about). I think when this work is translated I will be able to fully understand this moment (it was... more>> hard in Chinese).

I highly recommend the novel. It's made of glass, straight, if you want to relax and unwind, it won't do. But it's very worthwhile. To tell the truth, it reflects how some people live. All my life I've been suffering and afraid to change something, to admit, to be happy. In this regard, throughout the novel, I cried from the realization of how tragic was the fate of FL (from the world from which MC came). And how nice (yes, sorry, this is a bit of a spoiler) that the author gave her a good ending. I wanted to hug this character so badly.

This is a pretty good GL. <<less

A good read. Quite angsty but I love how the story developed. The extras are quite bittersweet but I love how we get to know the end of each character.

I enjoyed the story for most parts and honestly wish the drama with the ex-wife gets uglier and is more center to the story, instead we get the push and pull between the MC and female lead instead on whether they'll get together for real or not.

Also the jealousy is just... not it for me. I enjoy jealousy as a plot device, but the FL being jealous even of MC's male best friend that she's definitely not attracted and vice versa just feels a little off. If that's just one... more>> example I might just brush it off but there are several similar instances in the story that are brow-raising at times.

I wish the MC is nicer to her friends group too, since they love her and are protective of her but the side characters are really just decorations in this story. I got quite invested in the side couple's story, but it seems the author had forgotten about them and just gave them one or two extras to resolve their story.

Ironically, the extras have more of the drama I'm looking for in the story. <<less
