Due to his scummy behavior, he is thrown into a world within a book by a system, with the goal of transforming him into an outstanding attack.

‘s*um Gong’: If I reject someone who likes me, does that make me scum?

This unrepentant s*um gong, who believes he has done nothing wrong, has no intention of completing his mission.

There’s no such thing as rescuing a heartbroken protagonist or pursuing a spouse at a crematorium!

The s*um gong, who falls in love with the employer’s contracted lover, refuses to let money insult his feelings.

The spoiled young master, who has a pure heart but marries the s*um gong, declares, “I will never fall in love with you.”

The spatial ability user who pushes the gong into a horde of zombies seeks redemption after reincarnation.

The transmigrator who only cares about raising favorability ratings passes through various worlds, not getting involved with anyone…

Facing these protagonists awaiting their turn at the crematorium, Lin Hanchuan remains expressionless, turning his attention to his work and career. He strives to make it big and strong! No one will hinder his work!!

As the protagonists wait and wait, even until the flowers wither, they never witness the crematorium for the s*um top. Instead, his career thrives and reaches new heights!

Protagonist: Wait, that’s not how the script was written!?

Small Theater 1:

In each world of his missions, Lin Hanchuan always encounters someone pitiful—whether it’s a malicious supporting character he cannot have, a ruthless and heartless villain boss, or miserable cannon fodder…

Lin Hanchuan picks up this pitiful character, dusts off the dirt on them, and turns them into the most dazzling star.

Small Theater 2:

Everyone says that Ran Xing is a th**ny beauty with a snake-like nature. Beautiful indeed, but unfortunately, his methods are ruthless. Little do they know, he has nothing and must fight for everything on his own.

One wrong move, and he loses everything… In his most desperate moments, Ran Xing meets someone who protects him and makes him realize that he can also shine brightly.

Amidst the attention of the masses, the newly crowned charismatic movie emperor has eyes focused on only one person.

Cool ideas, cool concept, great translation but clumsy execution. I enjoyed reading the story and loved seeing the relationship between MC and ML grow throughout the arcs but I feel like the author’s skills didn’t quite manage to meet the depth of what they wanted to convey and that as well as the author’s biases (the American bias/fetish was almost funny after a while but one of the arcs actually had me wondering if the author hated adopted and poor people) did affect my enjoyment of the story in some... more>> arcs.

Overall cool story though I wish the author spent more time on the main couple in the end, so three stars <<less

Decided to give it a 4 for the new ideas and unique attempt to do something new

The MC and ML are both very interesting. It's also a slow romance in some ways. Both MC and ML take a few worlds to be permanently devoted which felt good. It's easy to get bored in QT stories when the MC uses the system to constantly win. In this however, it's the MC's sense of honour that causes him to look for alternate paths and become a well liked and respected person in... more>> each world. He's kind of a OPgenius but technically, there's a reason for that too.

The overarching theme of being 'scum' isn't bad. Often in media, if a character pursues someone wholeheartedly, the one pursued is called heartless and blamed if they don't respond positively. However, it shouldn't be like that. If someone doesn't want to be pursued then it's harassment, not cooing romance.

Tbf not all the worlds are great. That's pretty normal for QT, but I can't say that any world was super bad either. The last world tried to do a lot of new stuff and did answer a few things that had been weird from the start. This definitely doesn't follow the cliche QT tropes

Overall, if you're a fan of QT, then this an above average one, but not a super amazing one. <<less

A pretty average QT novel. Entertaining enough as well. Except for the last one, every arc is the same story, just in a different font, which could get tiring. But thankfully, there are not too many of them. The way each world was wrapped up still remains vague, as MC's just disappeared.

Romance was pretty ok, as it was developed in each world, progressively. Last arc was... a lot. A lot happened as entire plot was revealed. Still lots of plots holes.

Overall ok read as a palate cleanser

Tbqh, it’s the first time I tried reading from Seme’s POV.

I think the only reason I’m giving it 3-star (neutral reaction) because I quite enjoy the face slapping of each world. However, the ending of each world is not satisfying enough. It was explained later at the final. Still it was not convincing.

Spoiler

what made me dislike is the many systems at the end of the stories. Even the explanation is bit too much, like too exaggerated in a way... so yeah

MC and ML are quite cute together in a way but idk, it’s not satisfying for me so well, I’ll just leave it like this <<less

I found this story to be rather boring. The antagonists are dumb and act irrationally. The protagonists are always exceptionally competent and have no real flaws. The parents always suck. Most of the story is merely 'getting revenge by living well.' Rinse and repeat, with slight changes to the setting.

Ultimately, the author fails to make me care for any of the characters.

I wouldn't recommend reading this unless you honestly have nothing better to do and just want to pass time, but there are better stories to read.

Initially, I enjoyed this.

The premise is absolutely ridiculous & it has many brain-dead and illogical characters. Despite this, I enjoyed mc's systematic growth & come back in each world. I looked forward to the main couple returning to mc's real-world with their memories & building their relationship. I wanted to see the entitled secretary punished. None of these expectations were fulfilled.

Furthermore, the story is excessively biased towards the protagonists, excusing all their action. My enjoyment was affected by the inhumane ending of 2 antagonists

Spoiler
    • Arc of switched kid. He ended in an abusive relationship
    • Zombie arc. He was used in human experimentation

What a great book. Wonderfully satisfying face slapping all around. Some of the last arcs had very pitiful recipients of face slapping, which might turn people off. However, their downfall was that they didn't appreciate what they had until they were gone, and viewed the world through a self centered lens. They never tried to understand others situations and overestimated their own desirability. Sometimes, they also felt that because they love someone, that person needs to reciprocate if they know what is best for them.

I think that last point is... more>> very important throughout the novel. Love is mutual, and isn't owed to anyone. Even if someone sacrifice themselves or gives something because of love, that doesn't mean the target of their affections owes them love back. The target should try to not accept the gifts, not try to lead them on, and try not to foster ambiguous feelings. But they're completely in the right if they want to distance themselves so they can live their own life. However, I don't really think either original protagonists are really scum. My idea of a s*um is the character that appears at the end.

Each of the worlds in this novel is richly developed, though the logic in some were pretty confusing at first (zerg one comes to mind). I really wish the author had written the extra where they revisit their worlds (or even better, the raider's worlds).

My one gripe with this story is that I don't always see how the main couple is any different from raiders. The author tries to explain it as they help the world develop into real ones, but in they end, don't they kill the protagonist and steal the luck as well? The only difference is they make themselves the protagonists in the process. I'm not sure the author's logic here is very clear. <<less

This is super awesome! I love our MC and the ML! Definitely worth reading again.

The worlds are all well-built, the antagonist is well-taken care of, and it's all nicely done.

My favorite is the first arc, it just has these elements I like and Lin Hanchuan in it is very attractive.

One of the Best QT EVER!!!

When everything revealed it was ✨SPARK✨ but after that, still little more few chapters to reach the end, and then the Last Chapter was Literally THE BEST THING EVEEEERRRRR!!!!

IM BLOWN IN HAPPINESS!!!

And the Systems!!! MC'S SYSTEM IS SO ADORABLY PRECIOUS!!! LOVE HIM!!!
Spoiler

And of course also Love the another good system. ❤️

[collapse]

But seriously, you Gotta LOVE the MC!!! Calm and Smart AF. Well calculating and all. But still showing his kindness! The true Kindness that shows Humanity and doesn't annoy you!

He's NEVER necessarily cruel. But if the bad people had made him angry, while he never does unnecessary crulity, when those bad Shous facing Tragedy, he wont necessarily feel sorry for them either. While there's one Bad Shou who he did tried to help because that One Shou never necessarily anger him personally.

Anyway Lovable MC through and through!!!

Great ML either. Especially when things revealed in the end. Even more Love for Sure!!!

Their Love are Unconditional and Powerful!!!

Anyway all the arcs are Great. Though the last arc before the real world arc was the least favorite at least plot wise, and yet I Love how the ML and MC play their role and the ending of the arc. ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯

This Novel Goes Beyond any Existing Expectations and I LOVE IT SOOOOOOOO FREAKING MUCH!!!

IM ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT FOREVER ETERNALLY AND BEYOND!!!

I like longer, less boring stories, and this is it. The concept of transmigration is quite different, at the end of the story you will discover how there are many systems in the same world. I also like how the development of MC and ML's love is not sudden, but develops quite logically and makes sense. So it's 5 stars without a doubt. Give it a try!

I have not much to say (Edit: I apparently did have a few words to say now that im rereading my review), originally I read this because the summary caught my eye, and the very first arc as well. I couldn't wait to binge-read this novel and spent most of the day reading it.

Until I realised I completed this novel like long ago, I think last year, when I started remembering memories of reading this and knowing the plot well in advance.

So I skimmed through the arcs and read through... more>> some parts in the middle and ending before realising I read all of these before already lmao

Except I sort of forgot about it and since it's been a while since I read this, the first arc felt new until memories came back. I was a bit suspicious but wanted to continue reading but it felt too familiar to me until, well- it hit me.

I already finished reading this novel before. And its even before I made an account in novelupdates, I think? Not sure...

But anyways- aside from the weird realisation of falling in love with a 'new' novel only to realise I've read it long ago, and understand plenty well to realise the entirety of the plot after slowly recollecting my memories in less than a day just from reading two arcs and skim through to the last.

This novel is really not bad. It's very good. I would rate it 5/5 but the ending felt a bit too dragged on, focusing on some character I don't really care about instead of the main characters. But it was satisfying nonetheless, since I suppose it is a face-slapping novel. So, perhaps a 4.5 or a 4 out of 5 stars would do. After thinking about it, I decided a 4 stars is good.

This novel has its pros and cons. I considered a bit about the cons. Like the nationalism thing. I actually didn't focus on it too much or even noticed it. Since, well. I'm the type of reader that doesn't really care about the politics and mainly read through the arcs for the interesting world backgrounds and romance. Like if the author wants to express some nationalism, express it. Its their novel. And I'm already a bit tad too numb to bother.

What bothered me a bit was the plot. Its a bit confusing. Although the authors note helped me understand what the author wanted to convey better, I still feel a bit dissatisfied. It just feels like it could've been done better, but I'm not too sure how. Maybe it should've been handled in a way where we don't have to read the authors note to fully comprehend it?

But the author still managed to convey most of what they wanted to convey even without it. About 70% of my guesses were right about the plot and some are even written in the authors note. But then again, I did read this novel long ago. Though the memory is vague, just a couple more glimpses on the chapter sorta restored it.

But these are just personal biases, the novel is still good. Maybe its just the ending that made me feel dissatisfied, nothing else. The ending felt rushed, chaotic, and... confusing?

However, for future readers, don't let that deter you too much. It's still a good novel, interesting world backgrounds, and still a good plot overall. The romance is also pretty nice, like a decent slowburn. And the MC is a respectable gong that doesn't force others. Which I unfortunately have to mention.

A few pros about this novel is our MC. He's steadfast, pretty mature, and reliable. He doesn't let irrational misunderstandings (typically caused by assumptions and distrust) get the best of him and actually communicates with the ML. Like, if the ML does something that would typically be misunderstood for something else, he asks for an explanation and trusts MLs words. Naturally the ML wouldn't lie to him and speaks the truth.

Well after all, this is probably a big spoiler so I'll tag it.

Spoiler

They're after all, past lovers who love each other deeply. Reunited lovers, something like that. Even if MC lost all his memories and restarted with the ML, he still has that trust and deep feelings for the ML. Which isnt obvious at first, until it is all revealed.

[collapse]

The other few good points are the relatively unique plot. Its a bit refreshing to read amongst the other QT novels. And another thing is the past between MC and ML. Its a bit complicated, a little tragic, and heartbreaking.
Spoiler

They died and saved one another.

[collapse]

It made me a bit angry at the villain that forced that to happen.

Spoiler

Which is maybe why we got he got a bit too many screen time (maybe reading time?) For the karma and the face-slapping the author wants to do. Well- its not really that Shu guys fault. Its that strange system. But meh, hes a despicable guy too.

I felt really bad for the guys he 'conquered'. Their feelings all went to waste against such a vain guy.

[collapse]

But, anywho, back to the MC.... the MC really stuck to his character, I remember worrying that MC might be a monk and not fall for the ML at all. Or maybe fall in love, but definitely no snusnu.

There is snusnu, but its briefly and vaguely described as 'passionate nights' or they spent their 'three days and nights' happily. Something like that. Which, although I'm a bit shy around things involving that, it relieved me a bit. I don't know why... but MC just gave me the impression of an abstinent guy- like until the very first passage I read about him spending a 'night' with ML.

But anywho~ I recommend this novel. Its above average among other QT novels, but probably not a masterpiece. However, its still very good. After all, how else would I fall in love with this novel all over again after a year? Well- it's cause I forgot and my brain just followed some sorta curse that made me repeat what I first felt about this novel. Really good. Somewhat disliked the ending, but I love it nonetheless.

Would recommend for a good read for a few days or weeks? Depending on how fast people read. You won't regret it. Just um, for the patriotic american readers... I warn you about the slight (maybe over the top?) nationalism and some sorta bias or racism towards the 'westerners/foreigners' mentioned in this latter half of this novel (I think... its the darling something arc? Third arc maybe?). Although it isn't explicitly stated that the country the author antagonised is America (or it did- I skimmed through it cause I realised I read this already), I think- but it did say Country A. And the names are very european or western. Like Arthur Lord. So a small precaution about that.

Aside from those, I genuinely like this novel and recommend it! Not my favourite, but I do like it. (Okay, maybe I like it a bit more than I'm showing. Aside from the messy ending and slightly chaotic plot and other characters that made me confuse who is who for a second there-[yeah, I still got confused for a second even if I read this ages ago.] I still enjoyed reading this novel from the start to the end. Though I enjoyed the start and middle more than the end- it's still good.) <<less

Tbh I'm not sure why it's ratings are low? (Yes, 4.1 is low)

It was an amazing novel with an extremely intelligent protagonist. It was a breath of fresh air to watch him act so logically and remain consistent throughout the novel.

For those who are tired of weak or simply illogical protagonists with no sense to their actions, this is totally a book I'll recommend.

A quick transmigrated MC goes world hopping and helps save the life of the gong characters they transmigrated into from being used by the og shou and while doing so bags a crazy hubby!!

... more>> Overall it indeed is a novel for face-slapping and other sweet revenge moments. The author wrote some interesting endings for the og shous (deserved anyway!!),

The MC is cold and calculative and helps the gong characters they transmigrated into fulfill their dreams which they just forgot about after meeting the og shous. The MC comes across an eccentric dude who is weirdly too interested in him in every world (👀). The ML gives no sh*t for the world like literally.... got his eyes only for the MC. It got some suspense and twists as to how the MC and ML keep meeting each other during the world hopping.

I enjoyed the novel a lot. Almost did not read it because of the reviews surrounding 2 characters. Though there is some truth with how unsettling the ending of these characters is described, I did not attribute it to the MC, rather the people these characters surround themselves with inflicting this damage. While some may say the ending is a result of the MC, I disagree. The MC is disattached to these characters and responds to protect himself and the people he cares about. He is rational, does not let... more>> himself be manipulated (even the ending arch was nice due to how quickly MC caught on). Though the last arc was a little confusing (the real world?) you do have to keep reading in order to fully understand the scope of the actions behind transmigrating to different worlds. Overall, do recommend it, I enjoyed it a lot! <<less

This novel is soo goooodd!!!! Like I really wanna punch all 'og protagonists' good. Really the amount of times I really have to sit back and just stare into space from the audacity, shameless, and hyprocrasy oozing from them is too much. I almost dropped this one due to the emotions it brought out on me, and that's how good a novel this is because despite all that, I stucked with it, and I'm really glad I did.

It's a good novel. I like it when mc's are rational and intelligent. He can fix what needs to be fixed with minimal help from the system without overdepending on tools.

The system is also a cutie and really cares about MC. They don't interact as much as some others but is still cute and fluffy.

About the romance... I like and dislike it at the same time. Mostly because there's a lack of intimate scenes, even the kissing is mostly on head, forehead, hair and such... which feels ambiguous but not...... more>> like official romance? And I get it on a couple of arcs and that because of mc's situation and personality he wouldn't jump on ML without being sure but... too slow of a burn is not my taste tbh...

The arc plots are cliché but still interesting. My only complaint and a minor spoiler is that mc's family is always tr*sh. And that felt unnecessary...

A spoiler I feel it's necessary:

Spoiler

The gender description on the Zerg arc felt confusing af. They all look like men but the females are only called females because they are the ones that produce/lay the eggs... honestly it was hard to visualize them because them being called female zergs all the time made me think of women's bodies... so the mix of it and she he and the weird subversion of roles was very confusing. Still interesting tho.

[collapse]

Lastly... the main arc or real world arc is also a bit confusing... but it gets explained as you read it... I really recommend. <<less
