Hmm... Reading this novel felt somewhat rigid and dull. It's partly due to the time period the story is set in, but it's also the fact that the novel is about 3 decades old now. It doesn't have those modern writing styles and flur which you come across. It feels somewhat historic and archaic.

I wanted to rate this as a 3, but it feels unfair as I started from V3 as beforehand volumes weren't linked, though I feel it was misnamed and it felt like the start of the... more>> whole book. And again, the prose style and even the conversations is like reading a more modern version of Shakespeare. I really think this is due to the time period the novel is set in more than the fact that the novel is now just aged, as at least in American literature there's still novels that are still novel like Farenheight which is even more decades older than this. <<less
