I became a masochistic heroine who gets pleasure from being hit, stepped on and hurt.

What should I do…

Firstly, I should c*t off my finger, then I’ll think about it?

It's... a unique premise to be sure. A masochistic protagonist? Let alone one that willingly breaks their own bones, cuts off their limbs, etc., thanks to their self-healing ability? How often do you see that? This is a first for me.

The novel starts more as a fetish story about MC instantly giving in to the masochistic tendencies of the body they've possessed and indulging in self-harm in secret from everyone. While MC is having a time of her life, the rest of the world is slowly revealed to the reader.... more>> Then, (un) fortunately, the story departs from this pace and we're off to the action with full sails. And this is where the problem arises: it has tried to be both a fetish story and a story with an actual plot – but it didn't quite manage to balance these halves, I think.

Still, I've liked it enough to read all the available chapters: even though I've started reading for the pe*verted parts, but the rest of the novel was interesting enough to keep me reading – so the author must have done something right. I'm genuinely curious how it will end. <<less

It took a while for me to look past Lucia’s... er... hobbies, and certain other aspects of this story, but once I did, I found out that this was a pretty great read! I enjoy how Lucia’s real intentions are being perceived as saintly self-sacrifice by others. People think she’s the epitome of kindness, an angel in the flesh, but little do they know she enjoys being ripped apart 😔

This story is definitely not for people who can’t handle (sort of?) extreme gore and s*xual descriptions. If you can stomach... more>> the story’s “flaws”, they’ll transform instead into “perks”. It dives deep into many dark topics. Beware! <<less

A very interesting novel. Showcasing what would happen if you give a Masochistic person Super Regeneration. With no intentions of holding back the multiple ways she would commit her masochistic tendency, including some gorey details of the actions and aftermath. The novel additionally has some fairly interesting world-building and other events that make it all the more interesting. Honestly props to the translator for being able to translate the detailed gore well.

I like it

Novel transmigration with the MC trying to guide the story to a happy ending, Apocalyptic world caused by invading otherworld monsters, your standard Hero training academy. And our heroine MC is an utterly depraved masochistic pe*vert with the regeneration powers to match (read: survive) her endless perversion.

As for the story, it's... gorey. But in an incredibly entertaining way. It's genuinely fun seeing the heroine fall to depravity, seeking out more and more creative ways to hurt herself, and the subsequent messes (both literal messes of blood and various... more>> situations) she has to climb out of because of her own perversion. And, well, she's just so passionate and happy about it and we get to see so much of her inner thoughts and emotions that all of it is... pretty endearing and loveable.

The other characters are pretty likeable as well. Anastasia creating a clone to work... only for it to hug another clone and take a nap because its a clone that has (at least a part of) her personality was just so cute. It's still a bit too early to comment on the characters and plot as a whole; as of writing this we're just starting to enter the main plot (which seems to have more twists than expected) and we still have several important characters to meet, much less learn the depths of.

As a premise it's actually quite interesting to see how she tackles situations too. Not just withstanding necessary pain like the standard protagonist, but actively wanting and seeking the most painful path to success to the active horror of everyone around her.

o7 to the translator as well. They seem passionate about the novel and the translations are pretty good quality and quick (as of now, they seem to plan to do 2 chapters/day until 100 chapters and then daily afterwards).

Looking forward to more :D <<less

There are enemies, there are clear threats, there are clear goals. The early chapter from prologue to 16 are necessary for the MC's characterization, a bit of worldbuilding, and introduction to the members of the main cast. Also, if you get through chapter 16, that's when you've made it. You're in the clear. That's when the real story starts. Everything else is just the prologue arc. So yes! If you are in the fence because of the title and the summary, read up to chapter 16 to 20 then decide... more>> if you want to drop this awesome novel or not. I find this work immensely entertaining and with depth. The cast of character are entertaining for me. And the story and lore building is just enough to keep you hooked. There are two view points in the story, and that's Lucia's POV and everyone else. And sheesh, it's funny when you know Lucia's POV then read the other character's POV. It's one of the many entertaining parts. Honest! <<less

Word of warning, this isn't for everybody. Genuinely.

So, self harming heroine is exactly what it presents itself as. An academy story that follows someone who got reincarnated into another world as a character. Catch is, the original is a masochist. A massive masochist.

It's very gorey, and honestly really deviant. Funny so far with some pretty cool side characters, though you'll he reading most of the time because of Lucia. Who, though he (she now) tries to refute it, has become a massive pe*vert. An even bigger one than the original... more>> character herself. <<less

It's a really interesting story and the best part is that it's not afraid to get gorey.

The MC is also really fun with a lot of misunderstandings because the side characters don't know that she is a really and I mean really big masochist.

Ok. I'm very upset. This was a 4/5 for me up until the near gr*pe of the MC while being hypnotized and drugged. When you have something like that you NEED immediate repercussions. I can't stew about that for 10 chapters, for some bland ass redemption for them. So as good as it was going, I'm dropping this. Because fck that. I don't care if the brainwash lady herself is being brainwashed. The brainwashing is apparently for her to hypnotize Lucia, not Gr*pe her. So that was alllll her. Gross.

Edit:

Yea... more>> I skipped forward a chapter or two. Now it's about frey and Lucia kissing. Bruh. Nah I'm out. This author is bipolar or something. From gr*pe to vanilla in 2 chapters is wild.

Edit 2: out of sheer curiosity I read another 3 chapters. I regret It. Whoever wrote this novel needs to go to the time out zone. ≫:[ <<less

The summary really turned me off at the beginning, so I didn't read it until I saw it again around 5 months later. It was not a mistake. Some of the scenes are so visceral, dulled out by Lucia's absolute pe*vertedness. The other characters are peak as well. They are all incredibly interesting and funny as hell, you can't help but root for them despite their "quirks" (twistedness) from trauma from the novel's defining past event, the Great Catastrophe when monsters rained out of Gates. When you read Lucia's story,... more>> you don't get second-hand embarrassment, you understand all of her motivations and the POVs from other characters makes her masochistic nature into altruistic acts, which they technically are. All of this is for her gratification, though. I could almost call this depair p*rn. I have never seen a book so rife with masochists, sadists, and dismemberment. Lucia's nature makes a snuff film into a monologue about feeling good!!!

They have solid character development due to the events, Lucia's meddling, and the trauma of seeing her torn apart so much! I read ahead and the mysteries of this book are well-executed, plot points covered in ways you can't help but say, "wow, that makes a whole lot of sense" in a creative way. Foreshadowing is the greatest thing the reader has to guess what comes next.

The author continues to deliver a great quality book with many chapters, without monetizing it. You can feel the passion.

Heavy spoilers:

Spoiler

To explain the world of the novel, it is an apocalyptic nightmare with humans becoming super naturals with the gifts of the gods. Improvement is mostly mental and the Chosen One is the one destined to save the world from monsters and the Gates they come out of. The would is hinted to be in rounds by Astaroth and the Devils (fallen from Devil Gods due to the Gods' war or something like that). Devils are strong as hell, limited by their human vessels. Lucia is reincarnated with the body of the original Lucia, with the lustful urges of feeling pain. In this regard, she is h**ny as hell and can't go on long without being trampled or self-harm. Awakenings are when you gain your powers, but a second awakening signals you are closer to god, because it is a chance to ascent (probably?)

Main characters (Golden Generation; 6 members)

Lucia- Our pe*verted masochistic main character with Super Regeneration. She enjoys doing a lot to herself and setting up situations where she is suffering. Naturally, a good person, manipulative, and dense as hell. She has blonde hair and pink eyes. She seems to be the driving force behind the Chosen Hero's improvements, so she is dubbed the Causality's Needle by the Devils, the one who always impedes them.

Alice- Greatest genius of the Golden Generation in latent talent with the ability of Heat Rays that shoot out of her eyes, I've been imagining she's Superman. A very timid person from her past traumas. Blue hair and heterochromatic eyes.

Frey- Alice's split personality that is the auxiliary and Alice is the main. Born from the prayers of Alice to protect her from her stepmother's ab*se. Is the aggressive, personification of combat instincts, and a possessive sadist. You can see how well that meshes with Lucia. Has a conscience, though rough. Also, my FAVORITE!!!

Eugene- Original protagonist who is the Chosen One by the gods. The ability is Pyrokinesis, a prodigy. He got this skill from the Catastrophe after his younger sister, who protected him with the same ability, died. He is a sword wielder, and incredibly dense, though not as much as Lucia. His little sister actually gaslit him into being the protagonist away. Currently interested in Lucia, or more than that.

Anastasia- A normally childish girl that has the ability to Clone herself. Helps out at a cafe owned by her uncle who took her in after the Catastrophe who is suffering labor issues due to old age. Currently, she is the one that makes me light up when she comes up. She is so cute and her clones as well.

Leo- Golden sun-like character and an energetic rival to Eugene with the power of Acceleration.

Arin- Danger Sense or maybe it was called something else. Her father is Kallen, the 2nd captain of Celestial Corps.

Warning: You should NOT read this if you get disturbed or uncomfortable by depictions of gore!!

Extremely masochistic heroine story that is surprisingly well written-like actually unironically good developments and lore. Lucia's preferences is the main star everyone confuses her self-sacrifice for righteousness, but she just craves more pain. (well Lucia is still good-hearted despite that) It's similar to Darkness from Konosuba... except she has super regeneration so her definition of pain is much much more extreme such as cutting off entire limbs. So you'll either love it or hate it... more>> depending if you enjoy this particular niche. The misunderstandings are so fun and I love hearing Lucia's monologue~ Definitely the most pure-hearted heroine not depraved in the slightest heh~

The amount of self-harm decreases as the novel goes on though, focusing more on other developments. I miss Lucia's self harm monologue, but the other plot points carry their own weight. I really hope author will continue the story <3 <<less

the concept is unique and the novel is surprisingly unrestrained in its depiction of the gore, but it is way too slow. So far, the only semblance of an overarching plot that I can see is the protags identity crisis, but other than that, theres nothing else. No enemies, no clear threat, no clear goal. Just the protagonist and her freakiness

Star Rating: 4/5

  1. Did not finish, do not recommend
  2. Didn't like it for several reasons
  3. Okay, satisfactory
  4. Pretty good read
  5. This is going on my lifetime favorites
Setting: 4/5

  • This novel is a transmigration story into a superhero world, which isn't too unique. There are monsters that spawn from rifts which the heroes must face and defeat to protect the world. Clear cut and well done, in my opinion.
  • The power system isn't too complicated, but it adheres to its rules well throughout the novel, which I'm happy about. Nothing too crazy, but well written.
  • I think if you have a weak stomach, you should avoid this series because the gore, violence, sadistic and masochistic tendencies of the characters all get pretty extreme.
  • Overall, I think the shockvalue adds a lot to the otherwise average setting, 4/5
Main Characters: 5/5

  • Lucia, the main character, is an absolutely masochistic freak that finds utmost pleasure in pain. She considers herself very blessed to have the superpower of "super regeneration", which from what I can tell so far, makes her practically immortal. She can recover from almost any injury, no matter how severe. Yet, this power doesn't surpress any of the pain that she feels from injures she suffers. Truly a perfect power for a f*cked up masochist. She tries her best to save the world with the knowledge she has as a transmigrator, but she never forgets to set aside time to torture herself for pleasure.
  • The rest of the cast are all pretty well written. They all have their distinct personalities and motives, and we get to see their points of view throughout the story, which helps us as the viewer understand both how good of a job Lucia is doing to protect the world while also being able to appreciate just how messed up Lucia is. I do think one of the main side characters is kinda f*cked up though
    Spoiler

    Frey

    [collapse]
  • I also really like the antagonists of the story, as they aren't written as mere generic villains.
  • Overall, I think the characters have weight to them and all their points of view are enjoyable to read, 5/5
Plot/Pacing: 4/5

  • The plot is pretty standard "save the world" with the heroes, and also (heavy spoilers)
    Spoiler

    some alternative timeline/past memory shenanigans

    [collapse]
and the pacing is great. I'm only half-way through the translated chapters so far, but this story has a lot of potential, 4/5.
Overall Writing: 4/5

  • I think the author is very clearly f*cked in the head and this sometimes reads like a fetish wish fulfillment story for him. Despite that, the author clearly ties these f*cked up tendencies and powers into the story well and uses them to create interesting scenarios in the story. I hate it, but it was written well, 4/5
Enjoyability Factor: 3.5/5

  • I couldn't get over the overbearing masochism that Lucia shows and I dropped it after a bit but the rest of it was great, 3.5/5
