She Comes from the Highest Interstellar Prison

In the Interstellar Academy, there was a new F-grade freshman with low talent.

The freshman had a pale complexion and was unusually thin and weak, typical of the lower-class poor.

In the Interstellar Academy, students like Ji Fu were countless. The highest point they could reach was probably being picked by noble families to be cultivated as their appendages.

This was already the pinnacle that F-grade talent could reach.

F stood for the bottom, the bottom stream, and also represented the most barren resources and future, only able to survive by attaching to the nobility.

When the top nobles scrutinized Ji Fu with their critical eyes, they didn’t know.

She came from the highest interstellar prison.

Once, with her own strength, she destroyed thirty-three planets and topped the interstellar rankings.

She was the highest-ranked inmate in the prison, with a danger level of 3S, the top criminal.

Because she was judged to be a low-level species without talent, Ji Fu had struggled to survive in a brutal and chaotic environment since she was young, from being trampled on by others to fighting her way to the top of the rankings.

At the age of sixteen, she was told that while she was fighting for survival, someone was sucking her blood to enjoy worldly glory, but still wanted to crush her flesh and blood into mud to nourish their nursery.

So, now — the game has begun.

Fun mech novel with an OP FL, similar to Smash All Pots and Pans To Go To School.

In the interstellar er, the "talented" elite families rule the galaxy, while impoverished commoners without talent can only dream of having "talent".

The FL is a genius mech engineer with no "talent", but her incredible inventions allow her to surpass those with "talent". After inexplicably destroying 33 worlds, she is imprisoned at the highest interstellar prison where she is routinely tortured to extract her "essence". She escapes, and the novel begins.

So far, the FL... more>>

is at the Instellar Academy, studying pharmacy to try to and cure herself. As she competes against stronger mech soldiers and pilots, she slowly unravels the conspiracy against her, discovers her maliciously suppressed "talent", and punishes the parasitic, evil elites who treat commoners like livestock.

The best heroine ever!!! (*꒦ິ∇꒦ີ)

She's an absolute badass! Smart, powerful, and yeah, totally OP (OverPowered Protagonist or Unbeatable Main Character) ! But she's not out there fighting some imperial family in an Ancient Era or taking down some rich hypocrites families in the Modern Society. Like in majority of Ancient Chinese or Modern Society Web Novels...

Nope, the heroine is taking on a whole and huge f*cking *corrupt Interstellar Federation* in a Futuristic World!

I mean, come on! If she wasn't OP, how could she and just two allies... more>> take down an entire oppressive Federation in an Interstellar universe that's been crushing the poor and vulnerable?

Yes, the heroism is OverPowered and amazing!

The author nails it with this description:

She's not some delicate flower pampered by others—she's a wild weed, growing strong in the wind and rain, surviving and spreading life across the whole field.

This story had my heart racing! Every injustice she faced had me fuming (ノಠ益ಠ) ノ, but every time she fought back, I was cheering her on! (✧ ω ✧) ฅ

It's super rare to find Mecha and Sci-Fi novels with a dash of Romance—most of them are Seinen or Shounen (so, basically, no romance). But this novel is a total gem for anyone who loves a mix of Mecha, Sci-Fi, and just a little of fluffy Romance.

So if you're into powerful heroines serving up justice and putting villains in their place, all with a little romance on the side, then you *need* to read this novel!

**Spoilers ahead!** ⛔️

Big Spoilers!!! ૮꒰꩜ ㅅ ꩜;꒱ა

Spoiler

The story goes like this...

Spoiler

Yun Chi (the female lead), a genius from a poor background, had been oppressed her whole life until she snapped and decided to take revenge on the wealthy aristocrats who exploited her family and her planet. The poor were basically treated like s*aves, forced to work in deadly mining conditions for the rich. So, what does she do? She blows up those planets with the mines, wiping out the wealthy families who controlled them. More than 33 planets exploded.

To achieve her revenge, Yun Chi designed one of the best mechas ever and created groundbreaking tech to fight back. She became the galaxy's top mechanical engineer, striking fear into the corrupt elites. Her rage and inexperience didn't hold her back, and with two allies—Wei Lan, a powerful mecha fighter, and Qin Chuyue, a behind-the-scenes logistics expert—the trio became the most wanted criminals in the galaxy!

But then, disaster struck. They were captured by Fang Yanli, the strongest mecha fighter in the Alliance. For three years, Yun Chi was brutally tortured as they tried to extract her talents. Wei Lan wasn't spared either—he was tortured by his own corrupt family to force him into submission.

Eventually, Yun Chi escaped, faked her death, and took on a new identity as Ji Fu. She enrolled in the Interstellar Academy to become a pharmacist, aiming to cure her poisoned body and regain her stolen abilities. Her ultimate goal? Free her friends, destroy the corrupt Alliance, and bring justice to the oppressed.

Throughout her journey, she uncovered horrifying conspiracies, like the rich experimenting on the poor to steal their talents and injecting these stolen talents into the aristocrat children, making them more powerful. This project, called the Pig Plan, was just another way the wealthy dehumanized the oppressed, since the slaughtered poor and third rate humans were considered pigs.

The dystopia in this novel paints a grim picture of a world ruled by oppression and totalitarian control. Yun Chi and her allies fight back against this corrupt system, with a mix of action, justice, and a touch of romance.

To those who feel inspired by reading about a just world:

In one pivotal scene, medical technology—capable of saving countless lives—was tightly controlled by a powerful family. They hoarded it, holding the power of life and death over millions, refusing to share it with those in need.

The heroine, defiant and driven by justice, stole the technology and made it freely available online, breaking the aristocrats' stranglehold. Along with it, she sent a powerful message to every citizen of the Interstellar Alliance:

**[Some people wear golden helmets and jade armor, but they turn a deaf ear to the sad cries in front of them.]**

**[And some people are ragged, but they still use their flesh and body to build a fortress to protect people from wind and rain.]**

That's the inspirational teaching of the story!

Spoiler

Now, speaking of romance...

The love story is subtle, only popping up later in the novel. And even though I'm a sucker for romance, I actually loved that the romance didn't overshadow the story—it just made it sweeter! (๑♡∀♡๑)

Spoiler

**The Male Lead?**

At first, I thought it was...

Spoiler

Fang Yanli—the arrogant, self-righteous mecha fighter from the Alliance who arrested Yun Chi (the female lead). I hated that idea! He was a total tool, thinking he was all about justice while actually being just a pawn for the rich. Ugh. (╬ಠ益ಠ)

[collapse]

But thankfully, the real male lead was...

Spoiler

... Wei Lan (the ally of female lead that got arrested with her) ! He's the "lost puppy" type, always gazing at the heroine with those teary eyes (ᐡ•͈ ·̭ •͈ᐡ) . He had a tragic backstory, much like Yun Chi's, and after she saved him, he never left her side. To him, she was his sun, pulling him out of the darkness. He may not have had formal training, but his raw power was unmatched, and he was fiercely loyal to her.

Wei Lan was a powerful mecha fighter but he lost to Fang Yanli and he and female lead got arrested...

But to be honest, I always felt the only reason Wei Lan ever lost to Fang Yanli, the top mecha soldier, was because he never had any formal training. Everything Wei Lan knew came from raw talent—growing up poor and oppressed meant he never had a chance to really learn how to fight.

Meanwhile, Fang Yanli was born into an aristocratic family, spoiled by his grandfather, and given the best education money could buy. He had access to the finest tools, including the most powerful mecha in the Alliance. Sure, he was talented, but he was also groomed for greatness—how could he not end up on top?

Wei Lan's story was heart-wrenching too.

Spoiler

Born as a bastard to a powerful family, he was only recognized when they thought he might bring them status. But when his talent didn't develop fast enough, they discarded him, leaving him to die—until Yun Chi saved him.

[collapse]

Wei Lan devotion to Yun Chi, the female lead, was beautiful:

"He'd overcome anything to reach her side, never letting her face the darkness alone. He knew she was tough, but he always wanted to be there, a steady presence at her back."

And their interactions?

Beyond cute! ʕ ̳• · • ̳ʔ♡ In front of her, he was a clingy puppy, but to everyone else, he was a mad dog. One adorable scene?

Ji Fu (the female lead) opened her eyes: "If it hurts, go back and lie down. Why did you run out?"

She only heard Wei Lan (the male lead) whispering in her ear: "Hug."

He used to be very close to her, but the problem is, which good person wants to hug without clothes?

It's not a puppy.

Explanation: He's injured and naked after being treated in a treatment chamber immersed in a healing liquid, but he sneaks out in the middle of the night just to ask her for a hug. So cute! The problem was: he was still naked! I want to die! (੭ु ≧∇≦) ੭ु

Although they never actually confessed their feelings, it felt like their bond was unspoken, built through countless life-and-death situations.

Wei Lan is definitely one of my favorite male leads!

[collapse]
[collapse]

Big Spoilers... danger!!! ⛔️

Spoiler

**As for Fang Yanli... **

The number one mecha fighter that arrested female lead and I thought he was the male lead...

He's a complex character. Coming from a noble family, he believed in "justice" but was blind to the suffering of the poor. Ironically, his arrogance and self-righteousness made him worse than the villains. At least they admitted they were corrupt, but Fang? He thought he was the hero.

When he finally discovered the truth—that the aristocrats, including his own family, were the true villains—it broke him. In the end...

Beware, big spoiler! ⛔️

Spoiler

... he committed su*cide, taking down the aristocracy with him. His final words were an apology to Yun Chi, wishing her happiness.

Rationally, I think his ending was deserved, he deserves to die because he was a hypocrite, but emotionally, I couldn't help feeling sad. Also, part of me felt he was a coward that seek death, instead of living to fight for the oppressed ones and atone for his sins, so, his death left a bitter taste, adding a layer of tragedy to an otherwise epic story. And I hate tragedy.

Tragedies only make me feel more depressed! 。・ (ू˃̣̣̣̣̣̣ □ ˂̣̣̣̣̣̣ ू).

Wanted to like it, but there are no scene transitions, no introductions, just choppy sequences that don't make sense. Prison -> finding/saving some girl somewhere -> ship evacuation -> Academy (literally no time spent on this) -> some sudden battle/training sequence. And that's where I stopped, because there has been no world or character development whatsoever or even explanations. It seems like this author stole another author's world (smash pots and pans) and are not explaining or developing anything properly. Characters aren't even described or even have personalities. Poorly written.

Important things have to be said thrice. I loved it. I LoVed It. I LOVED IT!!

It has been a long while since a novel had made me sit up from my bed and grip my phone in fervour at 3 am in the morning.

Brief synopsis:

A woman goes into the cell of the no. 1 criminal demanding she give up her secrets for a few more months to live only to be pulverised along with the prison, aiding our MC's escape. MC, needing to lay low, gather her allies and plot... more>> revenge, integrates into the Interstellar academy in the name of studying pharmacy. And a great story of revenge starts from here.

Ah this is how revenge stories should be done. Whenever I find a gem of a novel with a FMC bringing down a corrupt system I thank the stars I got a chance to find such a novel. I know its the classic Hunger games trope but I eat it up everytime. <<less

4.3 / 5 ⭐

The main reason of me reading this novel is because I still can't move on from Smash All the Pots and Pans to go to School (I read it years ago!), I kept looking for something similar and finally found it!

But unfortunately this novel isn't as good as the novel above I've mentioned. There's no comedy in it, the romance is faithful but kinda bland, the battles between academy isn't as fun as the other novel. I can't not compare these two novels to each other because the settings and story are pretty similar ok?

To make it bluntly, the only good thing that I like about this novel is one of FL's skill as an alchemist/pharmacist. It's pretty hard to find a novel with alchemist... more>> in it. Although it's not even FL's main occupation she stills used it pretty frequently.

For the ML, in my opinion, the ML isn't the FL's partner but another Male character (you'll know it once you read it). I could only say that FL's male partner is just a "support character". He's good and extraordinarily faithful towards FL. His world is the FL. You could say that he's possessive and almost a yandere? In my eyes he's actually just someone who hasn't met many good people and FL, coincidentally, appears in his life just at the right time and moment so she becomes his whole life.

The ML (not FL's love interest), his life story is... sad. His character somehow has the biggest impact to me and the story. I just don't like how the author writes him, he's like a "sad truth" tool to push the story forward.

While reading this novel, in the second later half, I can't wait to end it as soon as possible so I can start reading other novel. It was good, but the later story are just too bland and fast-paced so I actually can't really enjoy it.

I continued reading this novel by MTL-ing myself, it was an easy read for an MTL. I'm thankful for the translator team for bringing this novel to novelupdates however I would like to mention it here that there are so many mistakes in the translations... still, I'm very grateful for the translator.

So, it was an okay read. <<less

Many reviews have gone over the story, I will start mine by going off on the translator.

The translation is awful. I hate it so much. Its like the guy putting it out doesn't even read it. "Wan Feng" and "Wen Fang" are two different people but the same name is used alternatingly in scenes that don't make sense for them to be there. The main poisons that the MC deals with is referred to with a different name for every chapter that it is referenced in. There is this liquid... more>> gold thing mentioned many times in the exam arc and it also changed names every single time. The power scaling words beyond S rank doesn't make sense - you have Star, Star+, Ultra Star, Hyper Star, Super Star, Super Star+, Two Star, Five Star, etc. If it's the author's fault for this, I would at least appreciate a TL note indicating as much. But no, not a single TL note anywhere, leading me to think that the TL is not paying attention at all. There are sentences like "This mech is Super Star +, which is not as good as this mech that is Super Star +". ??? Bro what.

I want to get immersed by this story. I really do, but the TL just makes it so hard. I will definitely be filtering them in the future.

Well, the little that I can understand even with this tr*sh TL is at least pretty decent. It's a story about a girl trying to fight back against an intergalactic scale empire built on the exploitation of the poor. Classic. Protagonist is an ultra terrorist, with 33 destroyed planets to her name before she finally got arrested. It's debatable if she even has any moral ground to stand on after causing that much destruction, it's not stated at any point but you would assume people lived in those planets. But eh, ebic girlboss, I will excuse it.

I would recommend reading it if you can directly read the raw CN text, but otherwise I hope you're prepared to deal with a lot of self-corrections and confusion. <<less

Okay this is such a gem I am so glad I found it.

The backstory, the story building, the characters, everything is sooo good.

Couldn't be more satisfied with the ending.

I was surprised to find novels similar to Smash All Pots and Pans To Go to School! The premise of the plot is unique. It's interesting to have a protagonist who starts from being a prisoner and now hides her true identity until she recovers. I like her plan of acting as a pharmacist or alchemist since she acts like it.

I wish there were more fighting scenes with detailed explanations. During the joint competition of the three schools, I found it to be a little boring compared to the Smash... more>> All Pots and Pans to Go to School, but I shouldn't complain. As the story progresses, you can see how much the people from the Alliance, nobles, and aristocracy family scheme against her and the others, experimenting with people like they are pigs.

I do like this novel but is it worth five stars? No, but it's still great on its own. Although, I do dislike how rushed the ending is especially the extra chapters. I didn't care for the romance since I preferred her revenge and schemes. No offense to the translators, there are a couple of mistakes, especially with having the wrong names of the characters used in the narratives. <<less

Sadly, the reviews made me expect more than what it is.

The World building is awful, author doesn't explain anything and I don't think they even know what a mecha is.

Spoiler

They didn't describe their mecha at all. It's supposed to be big enough to hold two people (because author added a "mecha pilot" which is a mechanic/ medic co-pilot), yet somehow it's small enough to show up in a normal room.

Then, MC creates a mecha suit that isn't a mecha which is just more confusing.

[collapse]

The battles are depressing in which MC experiences no challenges at all. Author creates "convenient" solutions out of nowhere that's never explained until they happen.

People don't have a personality. This is it's biggest flaw. Everyone are just 2d people that either are threatened by her or they like her. I thought Feng would be a Grey area character and found him the most interesting, but he turned 2d as well. Still more interesting than the BFF or actual ML who is the most 2d. They're only there to make the MC look good.

And let's not start with how there's only exams and no school. I hate the filler comments from "streams " in general, like why do you have that in a school exam anyway.

Also MC is this big criminal but somehow no one recognizes her.

Spoiler

She would wear a mask as a criminal, and when she got caught, she was caught by someone with face-blindness. So like, no mugshots were taken in this progressive novel Era?

And then by just dyeing her hair, no one knows anymore.

[collapse]

She is not even discreet and acts very loudly like her old self. It's infuriating.

There are decent mecha novels with female mcs. I'd rather read It's not easy being a man for decent op MC, or smash the pots, even though they're not perfect it's so much more thought out. <<less

Pros

Action packed Sci-fi genre with female protagonist ✅

Minimal romance ✅

... more>> Revenge served with no BS words ✅

Decisive Principled Ruthless Female lead who knows where to strike, who to strike ✅

She came from the grassroot origin with her innate ability stolen from her, her family killed and her whole body burden with illness because of the corrupt ruling class but she never involves innocent people and she never hesitates to eradicate that rotten system even if she was named a wanted criminal

Resilient and determined MC ✅ She can rebound back from the brink of death with her will to survive and overthrow the corrupt government

Cons

Not much character development ⛔because she's already a full package. This is more like a second novel where she thoroughly cleaned the enemy after she escaped from prison

Supporting characters ain't that interesting, may be because of how they are delivered in the novel⛔

May be because i've read "Smash all pots and pans" so I was waiting for how supporting characters are written

Kind of repetitive mecha battles⛔ and I've to read it in mtl so it was a headache

Overall it's good because there's not much novel out there like this so i've to encourage it

btw does anyone know whether "Crossing from the future, it's not easy to be a man" is out of hiatus? <<less
