“What does my daughter need from me?”

The Duke of Persis Flotina is a heartless man who does not need his daughter because she can not inherit the family.

I ended up possessing the Duke’s daughter.

A daughter who is sent to an orphanage becomes a s*ave and is beaten to death by a noble lady.

So the way I chose it was,

“I will live as Your Excellency’s son.”

It was to survive as his son.

***

Strange things began to happen to me, living as the son of Persis.

For example,

“I’m worried sick about you, what should I do?”

Like the crazy second prince, who used to bully me for various reasons, showing an obsession.

“If there is anything more you want, just tell me. I can buy anything and everything.”

My father, who used to say harsh things to me, is kind to me.

No one has to do this

I will soon stop pretending to be a son and live happily alone.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. One of the worst writing I've ever read.

The book cover is a definition of false advertisement. Let me tell you: You'll hate the father, because of his own ridiculous reasoning he misses her childhood and tortures her emotionally. He didn't deserve anything after that.

I'd say the amateur writing is the main complaint here. Seems like in the beginning, the author couldn't decide on so many facts... Like age or character traits swayed all over the place. I hope that would end... more>> after a while but nope... Same ridiculous writing style continued. She was the most s*upid MC I've read in a LOOONG LOOONG while. It was painful.

Other than MC, the side characters who are childishly hostile to her WITHOUT ANY REASONING made me so annoyed. They kept barking at her like dogs while she only existed like a leaf on a tree. The s*upidest leaf ever by the way.

I tried continuing this because I'm used to reading tr*sh and I love drama. But this was WAY TOO LOW in the spectrum. I waited for the writing to get better after a while but SOMEHOW, I don't know how is this possible, it went DOWNHILL IN GODSPEED. Did the author even try planning anything?

After like chapter 70, I did skim most of it, it was unbearable and later when she did the important deed I dropped the novel at chapter 94. Why did I read this? Do I hate myself?

I'm warning you, don't waste your time with this, there are much more readable tr*shy novels than this one.

Oh by the way: Translation was not much different than reading MTL. Especially, this book's writing style is very simple, it would be so easy to turn it more decent. I can't understand why not work on it more when you're asking for donations. The simplest thing they can do is correcting pronouns but they didn't even do that. <<less

I read the whole novel in about two-three days. I quite like the concept of the story a lot. And, I feel that a lot could have been done, but it was not as executed as well as it could have...

I Felt that they could added a lot more Angst with the whole part of her being in the orphanage. Maybe she would've been saved a little bit afterwards she becomes emotionally worse due to actually getting to experienced the part of being a s*ave or being at the auction part, but no. She was saved before it by luck. Luck... I felt that I could have left a much more emotional impact than saving her before the bad thing even happened.

[collapse]

I'm not gonna lie, It got really boring near the middle after the time skip.

Spoiler

I like how the ogML wasn't a great guy. Also, why in the extras was their that what if for him. It was a not great if you really think about it. He curses himself, so that he will only love her and that get her... She was woo by his plan. I'm glad Diego is the ML. And milo was better too then the OGML. Though I'm sad we didn't get to see her married or anything.

[collapse]

I would give it a 3 but I think it's closer to a 2.

2.4 is a accurate rating (for me). <<less

So far I'm a bit disappointed, but going to keep up with it. The writing and characters are very simple. May (FL) is the most interesting character, but what she can do is initially limited by her age. There was a time skip in ~ch 40 and now that she is 15 (almost an adult), I hope that the pace and story will pick up. I like how she has grown so far. It makes sense that she's become toughened and numb, but still longs for a more normal life.... more>> She's strong but sympathetic.

Duke Persis doesn't deserve a good relationship with May after how he treated her. She bounces back well because she's an adult in a child's body, but a normal child would be full-on traumatized by him. Yeah he has a tragic backstory and some sympathetic scenes, whatever. I don't want May to forgive him and stay with him, but I'm sure it'll happen. Luckily the other characters around May are kind and provide the requisite fluff for a story of this type.

As of ch 42, the "second prince" in the description hasn't even appeared yet. I didn't expect full-on romance during the kid years, but only one tiny scene with a boy (don't even know if he's the ML) in 42 chapters?

The translation is alright. There are MTL signs like awkward word choice, pronoun mix-ups and character names spelled multiple ways. Floa is never consistent with he/she pronouns. It can be confusing, especially in scenes with Floa, but I've seen worse. I'd say the readability is still good overall but could use editing. <<less

My first impression of the story is that it feels like an AU of WMMAP. The first two chapters alone give off similar vibes as WMMAP; the father in this story told our FL that he never once considered her as his daughter (in the novel), and their first encounter in the novel was also in a flower garden. FL's mother also died giving birth to her. HOWEVER, one distinguishing factor I appreciated was ... more>>
Spoiler

FL's mother left her father willingly, saying that she did not wish to be bound to him (her love for freedom was greater than her love for him), so the reason for him being cold to FL was not because the love of his life died or anything... I think. We're still quite early in the story.

[collapse]
The vibe and overall dynamics seem very reminiscent of WMMAP, with the additional twist of our FL probably masquerading as a boy (hence why it feels like an AU and not a direct copy-and-paste of WMMAP).

Of course, saying that does not mean the story is necessarily bad. The translation does mix up pronouns quite a lot and feels a bit MTL, but it's still mostly/kind of readable, and I've certainly had to navigate through worse. As of now, nothing particularly stands out about the story and the writing comes across as a bit bland, but it's a good way to pass time if you like the childcare genre.

Spoiler

I don't really like how FL's father is so obsessed (?) with whether she's his real daughter or not. Maybe it's the 21st century girl in my speaking (probably is), but she's a literal child who deserves to be protected/cared for even if she may not be his biological child, imo. Oh, and he's not sure if she's his daughter or not but wants her kicked out to some orphanage, and a conversation between him and the guardian of the place (?) seems to suggest that they are going to kill her (?? Idk if I read it correctly, it was a bit confusing) if she manifests the power of the family because they can't let the power leak out. This story comes across as rather misogynistic (the main reason why FL's father hates her is because she's a girl) but I'm hoping for change.

I would say this novel is pretty bittersweet and I guess the dynamics are more realistic than any fantasy/transmigration novel I've read.

Spoiler

I tend to get pretty attached to the first person who seems like they'll be the male lead, and that person was the ogML, but he was tr*shy enough that I didn't really like him. I understood why the FL chose the 2nd prince over the ogML, since the ogML deeply hurt her trust, so she wouldn't be able to feel secure even if they ended up together, but I also dislike the second prince since he was a huge womanizer and bullied her- but they have the best chemistry. Milo (ogFL brother) was the nicest, but there wasn't much chemistry between him and FL.

[collapse]

Spoiler

It would have saved a lot of emotional turmoil if there were a clearer implied ML from the start - I legitimately though ogML would be the ML. But then again, I guess that adds to the realism of the relationship dynamics. The side stories also made the whole thing more bittersweet since we're left thinking about how things could have been if things had been different.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Another thing - the duke was so frustrating. I felt so bad for FL when she got her expectations up after he treated her well and then he just ignored her for like 4 years. Like bro. What the fudge. I wish their relationship was good earlier on, even if it started out rocky. That's what I was expecting and hoping for. But nope. Didn't happen.

[collapse]

Overall, this novel was heavier and had more realistic relationships than I expected. It was pretty frustrating to read, but I got attached to the FL so I stuck with it. <<less

I thought that I'd rated this before, but I don't see it so I must've just ranted in my head.

The premise of this story is pretty good, but the execution is toxic. The MC is non-confrontational to all of her ab*sers and, somehow, -nobody- around her stands up for her when she decides to do nothing for herself. Consequences are not a thing in this story. I do not recommend this story for impressionable kids/teens/adults because it sets some very bad precedents.

Spoiler

Even when the OGML is -caught- abusing a testing center location as a means to torture the MC to the point of unconsciousness, her ML rescuer just picks her up and walks away with her. No followup. The OGML should've had his powers stripped and been jailed but not only does he not even get a slap on the wrist, he gets his own romance route in the side stories. What. The. !!!!!

[collapse]

It's a shame because the original concept could've been good and I liked how they handled both kinds of transmigrators. Not loving any of the rest of it. <<less

This novel was so painful to read.

Painful in emotion as well as cringeness. But it seems kinda realistic in a way?

Relationship with the father was so painful emotionally, the way they drifted farther and farther and once the father realized that he couldn’t even hold a conversation with her just hurts. The way it was resolved I’m a little 50-50 about. It was a good resolution, spoiler: ... more>>

she’s really not his biological daughter

the whole thing was like love is a choice. It was good and sad.

BUT THE THING I HATED THE MOST and probably the more realistic thing for a 15 yr old was when she fell in love and wore rose colored glasses towards the guy.
Spoiler

He’s not the ML thank goodness

[collapse]
but it was so cringy that omg arent u supposed to be an adult (I dont remember what age she transmigrated, but she dis when MC was 9, so by the time she was 15) but it was a good part of the novel as well.

Romance was okay I guess, the ML was a surprise. The romance was okay but with who and their history that made me iffy, but he did grovel <<less
