Song Chunshi, our MC, was just a normal high school student who was not very amazing in anything. She was just walking on the street when suddenly she time traveled to the interstellar age with mechas and star beasts. There she met a system that bonded to her and required her to accumulate 1 million energy allowing it to send her back home. The story itself is pretty interesting. The MC spent 2 years on a wasteland planet and grew stronger at this time with the help of... more>> the system. So, when the novel starts, you see our MC 2 years after first time traveling and she is already pretty strong. However, she does continue to train and level up throughout the novel. MC gets noticed when a group of students went to the wasteland planet to train and she's poached by a military school. In this world, most people have something called mental strength which is like an additional part of the human body that was developed at the end of the world back on parallel Earth. Only people with A-level mental strength can use mechas so the students in that department have always beat students in the physique department. Physique is literally just how strong your body is etc. Anyways, since our MC came from present-day Earth then she doesn't have any mental strength so she's purely a physique user. She goes through school leveling up and finally being able to cut through a mecha, which is the first time a human being actually achieved this. There is not a lot of romance and you can barely call the ML an actual ML.

What is most disappointing though, is that the novel just stops at the end with nothing really solved. Like, literally, she was supposed to go back to Earth to save it but that never happened. It just ends so quickly, I felt like the author got bored of it and didn't want to write anymore. The conclusion was so lazy that I really though maybe I should give it a 3 star and not a 4. But the rest of the novel was great until this point even though there was a long time-skip so you actually don't see her go through all her school years. I really wished the author wrote more but I don't know the reason for ending it the way they did. I usually don't like reading system-based novels but this one was ok. And you really only see the system at the beginning of the novel and then when it reveals the secret about the world to MC. After that, you rarely get to see it anymore.

So, overall, I thought it was a pretty good novel. The writing was solid and the world-building was interesting as long as you don't think super hard about things and nitpick it. But, I don't think I would recommend it to serious readers because of how bad the ending was. If I had known how the story ended then I probably wouldn't have started reading it in the first place. I gave it points for MC's character, world-building, story writing, and the reasons why it lost points is mainly because the author just didn't finish it.

Spoiler

So, the big secret of the system was that it was created by a cultivator who became a god and ascended to the god world. However, another god died and its remains fell into the universe and into the parallel Earth (where the MC traveled in time to) and became a starlight stone. This massive energy caused humans and animals to mutate and grow an additional thing in their brains which later gave them mental strength. Animals took to this energy much better and faster than humans, thus becoming super strong and massacring the human race. After years of fighting, a group of government and rich people built a spaceship and decided to abandon Earth because an SSS level monster appeared that no one could fight. So they all board the spaceship and fled but also nuked Earth after leaving because they wanted to kill the SSS monster. They were in space for about 100 years before finally colonizing another livable planet. Anyways, it turns out that the stronger someone's mental strength is, the more they feel a voice calling out to them. Apparently, this is the god calling them and giving humans mental strength was all a ploy in order to resurrect him. He lured strong humans to work for him and eventually they created a body so he can be revived. At the very last chapter, the humans were fighting against the god's army and then the MC goes deep into the lair with our ML (the emperor), and fights the god eventually winning and saving the day. And then that's it. You don't see her go back to her original Earth like she was supposed to. Because what happened to this world will also happen to her original world so MC was saying before that she'll use the system to go back in time when the god first died in order to save her Earth etc. But that never happened.

You also don't see her interact at all with ML. They basically just met once when she was still a student and poor so she was trying to mine energy stones for the system and saw ML killing a lot of star beasts. That was their first meeting. Then you see ML pop up here and there under different names because he didn't want people to know he was the emperor. But whenever they met, there was no blushing or heart skipping etc. Like, they just talked a bit and that was all. Then the time skip happened and she's suddenly a general and the author just summed up their interactions as ML reaching out to MC now and then via messages etc. Just like a normal friend. Even at the very end when they both went to find the god, ML was just basically a compass to find the location and MC was the one doing the fighting. There was barely any ambiguous atmosphere between them when they were together. So how did I know it was the ML? Because the author literally wrote a comment that the ML appeared when we first see him.

There's a few other little things that I could see were ideas the author wanted to expand on but then it was never completed because they ended the novel so quickly. It's very disappointing for me to read this kind of conclusion but it is what it is. If you read this and still think you might like the novel then you should go ahead and read it. It's not a bad novel at all, it's just the ending was too disappointing.
