I really hope Aileen doesn't become the MC's partner (but what the heck, it's obvious she will). Aileen is so troublesome, she's so annoying and she can't do anything without seo jun's help, I really hope she just disappears. Honestly the story is good if aileen doesn't exist because it just adds unnecessary problems + she's just delusional and thinks too highly of herself when she's just an idiot girl who can't do her job well.

The novel is not very complicated and most enjoyment is derived from cute and fluffy moments. There are "stakes" but they are treated very loosely as the focus is on Sejun's journey to becoming the ultimate tower farmer. It is very cottagecore-esque, as Sejun becomes a self-sufficient farmer who has lots of animal companions. It's a fun lil read and the translator does their job very well. Take it as a nice slice-of-life (of a tower farmer) comedy for the tower genre with cute animals.

This story is based on a mix of jokes, and wholesome moments, thus it's rating will change based on what you like.

The main jokes of the series rely on repetition based humor, as in, the same jokes being repeated across the story. If you don't like that type of humor, the rating will be much lower for you. If you find that stuff hilarious, the rating will be higher.

As a result of the focus being more on the comedy and wholesome elements, don't go into it thinking that the characters... more>> will act "Smart" about how they go about things.

For my complaints.

Spoiler

I don't like the jokes, thus the rating for me is closer to a 2 for me, but I am aware that it's subjective.

But, a bigger complaint I have is the lack of internal consistency. Sejun, the main character, powers up throughout the story through various crops, items, and so on... and always remains weak. No matter what happens, he's always weak. This... is heavily flawed, due to early chapters.

Sejun is given Artifacts, and "rare and powerful items", and they have stat requirements of like "50 in magic" and so on. Stuff that takes Sejun a while to get with his powerful crops. But possible if taking a bit of time.

Then he gets some random items that have 1000 Stat requirements. (slight exaggeration). Meaning that these artifacts, that are the rarest items, are easier to use then other's... and are less powerful.

The reason for this, is all to make Sejun weaker in comparison. The author keeps... raising the power levels of the top entities without seeming to realize how that actually f*cks over the story.

Sejun, at this point in the story, has stats that are fairly busted, but is constantly told he's still weak. So much so, that it's a wonder how Humanity is climbing the Tower at all. (They have, canonically, gotten up to about floor 50 IIRC) But, with how much the Author keeps raising the power level, Humanity shouldn't have gotten past floor 10.

If you have any interest in coherence in the story, as in there is logic being followed, then there barely is any semblance of that.

The whole premise of the story is how thick the plot armor on the MC is, basically any little thing he has or gets is given to him with him having only to do the bare minimum.

If you want a chill farming novel than you can turn off your brain and will probably have fun, it's not like the story isn't enjoyable.

But be warned that if... more>> you don't turn off your brain while reading this you will cringe a lot.

Spoiler

like it was kinda interesting how he got enhancing crops from farming at the top floor of the tower, there was logic in that through the density of mana and such.

However, for some reasons each and every being he encounters acts like they have never seen food before, I mean the final boss next door is eating mud so it might be possible.

And it's not like there are no farmers in the tower, in fact a tower farmer is an existence known to most of the inhibitors of the tower.

Like literally bro is using his level 1 skills to flex on max level beings who have been there for thousands of years.

The author had to nerf absolutely each and every one that could do anything similar in even slightest ways to what the MC could do to make him even more important.

Imagine living for a 1000 years and a random guy can cook better than you by putting meat and onion on a pan.

No special skills, no techniques, just a lvl1 skill that he got from the dragons and bam, the dragons are his s*ave...

Like the hell, did the author have to make every one like literally ret*rded to make the MC relevant?

Not too bad as a time waster, if you can overlook some aspects of the novel. For example, the protagonist not initiating trade with the hunters in the tower beyond exchanging his crops for tower coins. What does he even need all those tower coins for? Why not spend just a tiny portion of his wealth for various modern goods that would be useful to him? For example, he craves the taste of modern food and snacks, but doesn't think of trading for the for some reason? He could even... more>> buy new seeds to plant from outside the tower, though I can understand not wanting to do this to avoid leaking information.

The protagonist is also extremely easy-going, and doesn't mind sparing his enemies. He doesn't hold grudges at all no matter what happens to him, and he also doesn't have much interest in things that aren't farming and spending time with his family (pets). This means you won't really see him making much effort in relation to combat.

The general content of the novel is simple. 80% of the novel is just him farming and playing around with his pets. 15% is spent on progressing the plot, and the remaining 5% is spent on the romance. Most of the plot progression will take place in an alternate POV, with the MC usually being the driver behind them despite not knowing anything about it. As for the romance, it's very much a slow-burn concept, with the MC being totally clueless about it the whole time. <<less

Although the pace seems to go a bit slow between events as well as the character growth, It's a very chill easy-going narrative that for some strange reason, I don't want it to end before chapter 10, 000. I mean, I love this novel and will try to convince my kids to read it too... more like to force them to read it because they really hate reading anything over one paragraph long apart of One Piece. My thanks to the translator and author for this work. Now at Ch... more>> 414, I can say that... It is freaking painfully slow and repetitive when status of progress are on. <<less

Read this if you like:

  • Chill vibes
  • Cute animals
  • Non harem romance
  • Farming
  • Problems being solved w/o the main character
  • Weak to strong growth (not strongest, but stronger)
  • Dungeons and Systems
  • Kinda chill apocalypse vibes
The main character is greedy but hard working, and he loves and cares for those who treat him well. So yes he spends the story grinding money for seemingly no reason, but he uses his money and resources without hesitation to take care of those who he loves or helps him. An example of this is ... more>>

a coworker gave him an apple before he went into the dungeon which he was able to grow into a very special apple tree. To thank him he gives his coworker equipment that can't be bought with money as well as crops to make him stronger, while the coworker didn't think anything of the apple.

I really do love this. It's great, but there's a lot left to be desired in the later chapters.

Solo farming in the tower alone started off very, very strong but as we get past chapter 200, it becomes severly unrealistic and the only jokes are: Sejun is a sun fish after all/ Sejun is usless/ Sejun is super weak and he is useless/ Ceungi loves daddy but he is weak

The biggest problem is that the latter half of the novel is just about Sejun being weak and everyone doting on... more>> him, Sejun trying to get a bit stronger so he can hang out with Aileen (Who became a really dull character with no personality and preaches about how everyone should love Sejun and her personality is about how much she loves Sejun).

I really did love the initial premise, but my love for the story in the latter half simply comes from the former half. There's many ongoing plots that the author decided not to finish, or finish really fast.

I want to finish it when it gets fully translated, but I really don't have high hopes as the story didn't even finish, the author just made a second part which is a different series. <<less

I should’ve listened to the reviewers I read before starting it.

Spoiler

1. The MC is respectful to the tier manager who in turn is delusional and she mistakes it for courting gestures and becomes obsessed with him

2. Theo gets full of himself and acts like a normal clingy cat would which isn’t that bad... but I’ve never since a cat cling to you even when you are moving around (I can’t even imagine the cat clutching the MCs knee while he’s working in a farm. It looks so silly) I mean at some points the MC was getting wet and the cat was still there. As far as I remember cats usually get up when you get up seemingly mad that you disturbed their peace. I kinda wished there were some “I have to use the bathroom but I can’t get up cuz he looks so comfortable” moments. Cat also starts slacking on the merchant duties and I feel doesn’t perform the Earth information gathering as well as he could since he’s rushing to go back.

3. The bear is always hungry it’s annoying. Spends at least a third of every chapter with attention towards the bear complaining, eating, or waiting to eat. The monsters originally leave all the special crops for the very weak MC to eat but the bear always whines to/lashes out at the MC about if he’s eaten any good food alone. The last chapter I read actually had the bear getting caught eating good food alone while giving the MC only the hitter food it didn’t like which that was the nail in the coffin that made me drop it.

4. The MC kinds doesn’t seem to care that much about his personal life back on earth it’s almost been a year I’d imagine it’d show more than it does especially after he found out news that his family is being targeted. Even after killing the people targeting, you’d think he’d try to progress the plot faster to meet with hunters/his family. I mean the dude talked to his mom through the mirror and it was anticlimactic as hell for the short time it was it was spent asking how to make tofu mainly. With the xp farms/his major control over the tower inhabitants I don’t see why he couldn’t bring up family all the way up to him out at least to the 44th floor. The hunters have made it to floor 41 ref. Maybe he did I’d have to keep reading but if he actually cared it would be done or at least in the process already. I l don’t recall him ever asking Theo about how the disaster on Earth is being handled after maybe 3 months of it going news of it coming. Also thought he was a bigger fan of the one idol and expected to hear more missing her but the TM ruins all chances of that by butting. She literally tells (or asks idr) him to change his lock screen to her later when he gets the chance and he just casually agreed further feeding her delusions. The one sided romance is so terrible. The MC also temporarily solves the bears hunger by gigantifying crops for it to eat but what confused me is why it’s only ever one and not multiple. With the way the one hunter walked into the void storage and didn’t notice the bear instantly, there’s enough space for at least one giant crop. He should also know the bears hunger times atp (he does) so he should have a giant crop ready. It’s also dubious that the MC makes 3 meals a day for tens probably even hundreds of monsters while doing all of his farming work among other things. Just for the “baby” bear to down the pot of whatever he makes anyway.

5. The world tree hiding its growth is annoying and it continues to not make sense how the MC isn’t picking up on anything. Well he suspects things at times but then just keeps it pushing when he probably shouldn’t.

[collapse]

Genuinely shocked how people enjoy it. Ig a cat grabbing MCs facing and calling him ugly multiple times isn’t my kind of joke or even the harmonious atmosphere of the monsters fighting over the MCs praise isn’t something I enjoy... every chapter. Hopefully others enjoy it. <<less

First time I write a review bcz I have to. I love the theme of the novel but the author seem lack of creativity in writing bcz most of the chapter is the same from start to end. Also theres not character building in this novel beside the main become more n more n more pushover by the animal and they become more arrogant specially the cat. If you dont like monotone novel (repeatable plot), an annoying side charas, and 0 character building then this novel not for you.

Sidenoted: read... more>> it till latest chapter and still no improvement. <<less

I really liked it at first. The interactions with the animals were very cute, and the focus on his peaceful existence in a very not peaceful tower was great. It didn't last. The MC transitions into spending as much time enslaving everyone around him as farming. The contract mechanics are extremely poorly thought out, too. No signatures necessary, no consent necessary, and they can be changed on a whim by one party (10 year ens*avement to cover a debt can be unilaterally changed to whatever length wanted, with no recourse.)... more>>

It remains written in a cutesy style, so I managed to ignore the horrific content, but once I thought about it, I couldn't ignore how evil the MC really is. He is truly immoral. <<less

It's a simple "slice of life" farming with a cheat system and growing stronger with very little stress. Don't expect big drama or challenges, the author/reality is strongly on the side of the MC. If someone gets poisoned, the MC will find a rock on the ground 3 seconds later that cures all poison.

Overall I liked it though, with cute characters and entertaining enough arcs.

Chill little novel about a guy that ends up in the wrong place and starts farming to survive.

Plot is slowly revealed over time but it's mostly just a wholesome little novel about a guy farming with animals.

Don't expect much action or any plot twists.

A pretty casual read.

Nothing too special, mainly repetitive slice of life.

What I find more amusing is how some of the readers take the story seriously and express it.

The humor is basically children's cartoon level and not meant to be mulled over, but some of these people take it so seriously and absolutely project their personal experience hard onto it.

If you're into repetitive, mostly chill and relaxing light-hearted novels, this is for you. It's nothing dramatic, or too serious with some action every now and then. It's one of those stories that you can follow and would not over-stimulate you. Again, it gets repetitive so if you're not into repetition, this might not be for you.

A lot of things are the same:

Farming, cooking food, taking care of animals. A bit of something different every now and then, but once it gets resolved, it goes back to farming, cooking food,... more>> and animals.

To those who complain incessantly about the animals - you probably have no pets. If you're a pet lover/owner, it's natural to let your animals express their attitudes and personality. Do we spoil them with it? Absolutely. Is it bad, not really. It seems like you prefer robots that would just perform a function and follow everything to a T, and that is totally boring.

Pets give your otherwise mundane daily life more color, and yes, part of that is when they make a mess that you, the owner, have to fix. It's part of being an owner. I digress; I find the comments here kinda annoying.

I would have given it 5 stars if not for the over repetition; even I, who likes to take it slow, find it too slow because the story is inflated with chapters of cooking food. The story progresses rather slowly despite having like 400+ chapters because of that. Other than that, it's a pretty good read! <<less

If you are going to read this because you like the slice-of-life then good for you, since this peaceful and relaxing story that full of fluffy and cute stuff (Too much for me though).

If you are reading this other than that then it's going to be messy. No main storyline and no actual progression. If something is going to happen you will know it first since the MC is going to create a farm-related thing that in the next chapter is going to be needed by the tower. For example,... more>> MC created another food let's say corn that has a buff of nullifying the poison then you know the next problem is going to be about poison.

Also, this guy has too much money, literally but does not have any chance to use it. If the MC can 'buy' experience for his ability/stats/level then at least he does have something why create and amass that kind of wealth.

But I read this because of farming and slice-of-life. It's not an issue aside from the story being too fluffy (character/pets being too cute and s*upid)

It's quite good. It's a simple and easygoing read. It really is just that, an easygoing and simple read that somehow and some way is able to keep your attention even though it's practically the same thing from chapter 1 to chapter 81. The cuteness is there but not overbearing in other novels which makes it their only driving force.

So yea I'd give it a nice 3.8. An easy and simple read that keeps you invested and satisfied with sprinkles of cuteness.

Its pretty good for a slice of life novel with slow pace. There are a lot of things going on for this novel but there are things that make some people not like this novel such as the s*avery stuff or how some characters behave.

But its still very readable and I quite enjoyed it. The other thing that makes it exciting is the manhwa which makes you want to read ahead and which basically means you will end up reading the novel even if you don't wan to.

As for the... more>> translations, they are great I don't see any issues with it and the release speed is also quite good so no complaints there. <<less
