Well at early stages MC really is kind of stingy and sometimes really dumb. What I kinda hate now is how the side characters are very arrogant and pushover especially the bear cub and the cat merchant.

Additionally, some scenes are repetitive and tiring, sometimes I skim at these parts since it's really not that worth to read.

There are also characters served as cannon fodders to MC and his minions. Enslaving them after the fight. At this point I really hate how these cat at bear are arrogant and demanding like... more>> a bully. Enslaving every creatures bothered them. Also these cannon fodders all have the same pattern. You mess with MC and his minion, be a loser to a fight then be a s*ave. Well at later chapters the main plot now had been progressing steadily. So it's kinda a good read if only you are patient to these repetitive scenes. Also there are times you may find lacking as some plot points haven't executed well as he progresses the plot. For example;

Spoiler

When he returned the night at the black tower. These part seems like lacking in reactions. We don't see the human hunters, monsters, and the native reactions and to this new day and night cycle to the tower.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Contract is absolute. But its disappointing that you can enter contract with the other party being unconscious and without their agreement. Contract and enslaving are their main weapon at this point.

[collapse]

Spoiler

If he really want to import things from outside the tower, he should trade with hunters. By this, the golden bat will lose its use

[collapse]

Lastly, the translator had a very good job translating the novel. <<less

Maybe i’d sum it up by saying it’s not great, yet I may still read more ? It’s Lengthy, mostly boring (repetitive slices of life) and rather flawed, but cute, at least initially

(it’s an ok choice to fall asleep ?)

———— my review contains few hints at spoilers ———-

The pace is completely off, it’s so slow with ongoing menial tasks that the bigger ongoing plot is pretty much drawn, missing in (small task) action - first disappointment, the balance of carefree day to day repetitive lifestyle and tower /world... more>> events is pretty bad

The character are mostly cute, but, then again there’s strange unbalance, as some of them are like working decoration with minimal interactions, while others will grow to have way too much importance to be fun:

Second disapointement : The dynamic of the animal companions

why does the cat talk from the start, and not the other animals ?

why mostly letting go of the ever growing numerous rabbits ?

(Btw, cats are nearly as big breeders as rabbits, and shecats would feel like better mother models than rabbits mom who seldom care for their pups)

Also, why would rabbits need a to have a kingdom, a king, or an army ?? (What’s that sick obsession with monarchy these days ? Many animals don’t have pyramidal hierarchy at all !)

the group dynamic is badly damaged when you lose the black rabbit : you’re left with an overpowered glutton and a more and more tiresome more than arrogant, more than lucky lucky devious cat (and a bat) <- the parenthesis is intended

And that’s the third disappointment appearing : it maybe du to the attempt at being fun, but, there’s a huge and growing gap in the characters influence which make some of the cute interactions grow bothersome : there’s way to much cat crazy face slapping, and the bear repetitive excess and food stealing are not too far behind. Both becomes highly predictable and exhausting as their misconducts not fun anymore

some reviews mention the character is not growing enough compared the last floor monsters power. I beg to differ, and it obviously does change quite a bit at a crazy rate too, when Aileen buy him some admin privileges or when the actual tower farmer plot advance.

But it’s not less frustrating. It takes an awful time to actually grow a plot and a story. Some big « end of the world « thing is truly ongoing... yet you have no sense of emergency. On one side: the communication between the MC and the hunters + outside world is less than minimal, entirely dependent on a s*upid cat, and on the over side, the dragons are a bunch of drunkards with little integrity and an enormous pride.

the fourth disappointment is probably the total incongruity between a potentially good story and the absolute lack of depth of anything going on. The fifth would be the caricature that is made of the characters, they are being devoured by the archetype that defines them, and not much is left out of this 1.5D characters outside of a once cute envelope

if I had to add a last upset, and that might actually be my biggest : it would be that despite an obviously righteous mind, the MC also lives by some very strong merchants dishonest rules, that are not so fun when he ab*ses the s*upid cat into exploiting it for next to nothing, , and even less fun when the cat itself becomes a master of deception (not by smart, but by luck). It feels so far from the cooperative « let’s help each other « that grows spontaneously with the rabbits. That kind cooperation feels lost as the rabbits end up being so far away side characters, leaving more and more of monetized or bargained exchanges between the MC and most of his surroundings

This feels like a waste, the cozy farm with the animals meets a greater evil that you could possibly fight while growing food

Still despite my complaints I do appreciate the mostly non violent nature of this story. While I am disappointed by the transaction nature of the interaction (in opposition to cooperation), this is still a story where the non combatant weak MC managed his way with gardening and cooking, and defeats his enemies with plants

i wish the writer had some permaculture insight, I would probably forgive all the rest

du to its very poor pace, I feel this is not too bad to read and fall asleep <<less

One of the greatest web novels ever written but gets a little to woo woo god towards the end. Turns away from a lot of the core fun in early chapters. Also, the Theo bromance gets a little over the top in sections but thankfully evens out when Theo gets a life change.

Great novel with a great translator. MC isnt some super warrior but a regular person stuck in the tower. The only way he survives is via friendship and farming. Farming gives him lots of litrpg benefits, solving situations and the like, meanwhile relationship save him suvh as having a merchant cat, a strong bear who considers him a dad, dragons that love him for his alcohol. If youre coming from the manhwa, the quality is still great.

Translation quality: the TL is great and kind and clearly puts effort into the... more>> novel. It aint MTL and they actually translate via meaning and not just purely though text <<less

A pretty chill novel tbh, nothing crazy its not like there are side characters other than some animals who we dont understand what they are saying, or any crazy action scenes and fights.

This is a story about farming and getting new materials and seeds to plant, you are basically left wondering whats he is gonna plant next and how will it taste, maybe we occiasionally get some info on the tower and the higher existances, but what keeps reading is wondering how far can he go with his farming, can... more>> he really develop into someone strong enought to escape or even conquer the tower just by farming? <<less

Overall the story is fun but a bit repetitive currently, several events are just repeated over and over again with little variety, but the story is still a nicely written feel good time that I enjoy having, and even with the repeated stuff the things around it are still changing and improving at a rapid pace.

As of now several events are being built up to be serious or build to the tension of the situation, ... more>>
Spoiler

Like a dragon constantly trying to kidnap him through a gacha.

[collapse]
but even without those the farming is still good enough for me to stay.

If it repeated the same stuff less I'd give it a 5/5, but there's only so many times we get the same scene before I roll my eyes and skip to the next paragraph. <<less

So, it is really nice, at first, it seems chilled, but the plot gets more depth with the exposure of the reason for the towers existence.

It seems like MC takes advantage of the animals at first but the roles kinda reverse subtly.

And MC is strong, it's just that he is in the shadow of the monsters of 99th floor otherwise he probs strongest human on earth

It's a pretty chill novel. They are farming, scamming and buying. The Cat is soo lucky that I think he's the reason I have no luck for life. To be honest don't read it with pretty high expectetions. It is getting repetitive sometimes. MC is somehow like a magnet for tower's animals. This is the kind of novel which you just read to relax and have a break or something. When I have soo much energy I get bored of this novel. Also I don't really want to read something... more>> like romance right now. Nothing really happened untill the chapter I've read with romance but I just don't like it sorry. I like familial Bonds more so thats what it is. I'm kind of disappointed. I don't know why. It is not bad but...

It is my fault maybe I kinda expected something unique. The tag say fantasy and adventure (didn't see the romance before) so maybe I wanted a different World. This World is about tower and climbers and guilds vs. <<less

3.5/5

It's fine, a pretty enjoyable read that doesn't require alot of investment mentally.

The one thing that really leaves a bad taste in my mouth is the s*avery gimmick especially the one that is activated when somebody cultivates one if the mc's crops, even if its by accident or given by somebody who bought them to plant but didn't do it themselves.

I realised that in real life there are cases where big companies bread specific plants varieties and their seeds accidentally make there way into other people's fields.

This is a story that is pretty much a mix between a LitRPG and a farming story. A large part of the story is focused around the MC farming and cooking which is around 50% of the story the other part is about a struggle between creation and destruction, interactions between the MC and the talkin animals around him.

For the most part the story is light hearted with little to no seriousness where everything just falls into the MC's lap who doesn't do much at all outside of farming, though... more>> in most of the cases his farming somehow always solves or prevents what the side of destruction is trying to do, while everyone around him does the rest.

There is also a running gag about how the MC is weak which happens every few chapters in some way or another. It does however go to far at times and I sometimes really wonder what the reasonings behind some of it.

Spoilers ahead on this.

Spoiler

For instance early on the MC creates crop that gives permanent stats so he wants to eat a lot of them to grow strong but then he finds out that his max potential stats are 99, while everyone else from the tower has their potential more around 50 000 - 100 000+, so all the extra stats he gains instead just upsets his stomach and he poops the stat bonuses out instead.

The MC knowing he's weak also often times gives away stuff that would make someone stronger or sharing it with the other strong one's. Keungi the bear also often eats up most and sometimes everything that would give stats or increase someone's potential. So a lot of the chances for the MC to grow stronger are often taken away.

The MC also when he lvls up only get's +1 bonus stat because his aptitude is the worst and for some reason his job tower farmer which is a unique job that only 1 person per tower can hold gives no bonuses. He also has to go through a job quest every 10 lvls that for anyone else would be next to impossible at times or at least takes months or years to complete.

While for instance an average hunter thats a normal wizard get's +2 bonus stats and +5 magic stat each lvl.

Aileen who's the heroine + dragon get's something like +500 bonus stats, +1000 in all stats and +13 000 magic stats + other stuff each time she lvls up. There is also seemingly no job quests every 10 lvls for anyone else then the MC so they can just keep lvling and grow stronger.

There is also the fact that the MC's rewards for doing next to impossible things that no one else can might give him something like +5-20 in all stats at most. While for instance Aileen who didn't do much would get +100 000 in all her stats because of what the MC did to upgrade the black tower because she's the administrator. So even though the MC does most of the work and often get's most of the rewards, the rewards he get's through out the whole story isn't even 10% of what Aileen for instance get's from 1 reward.

The author even goes as far as seemingly removing ways for the MC to grow stronger with no explanation. For instance Aileen could from early on help the MC by using tower coins to buy powers for the MC that would make him stronger for around 20 billions or more but he never had more then a few hundred billions to buy powers but then when he starts to get hundreds if not thousands of trillions of coins then he no longer buys any powers and instead he for instance uses up all the money so he can return to earth for a few hours or starts saving up money so he can go back again. One of the reasons being that for Aileen to go to Earth and meet his family for 1 hour they need to pay 1000 quintillions, but the amount needed quickly increases faster then the MC can earn money. So then most of his quest rewards starts to turn into him having to pay less to bring ppl to earth while again everyone else keeps growing stronger.

All of this then boils down to the fact that the author a bit into the story as a comedic part introduces the fact that if there is a too big difference between two ppls stats then the one with the lower stats will faint or outright die if the difference is to big. Especially if they can't control their powers which is a problem for the ppl around the MC, especially Aileen, since they grow strong to fast.

So the MC keeps fainting or almost dying every few chapters simply because he doesn't grow fast enough while everyone else just explodes in strength with no limits for sometimes no reasons. Instead the author just keeps introducing reasons as to why the MC is weak or why he can't grow strong fast while none of that affects the others.

A reccuring theme is that Aileen wants to meet the MC but each time he faints or almost dies because her power is increasing so fast. Though at times it doesn't make much sense and instead the author even seems to go against their own settings just because it's funny to write about how the MC almost dies from being close to her.

The author even goes as far as making it so that when the MC becomes able to make clones the clones easily grows more powerful then the MC, even going so far as becoming actual gods.

[collapse]

The romance part is also pretty weird since there is barely any interaction between the MC + heroine outside of him for the most part giving her food or such and instead of having actual interactions between the two the heroine only talks or interacts with people around the MC or ppl the MC can't meet. The two becoming a thing is also weird in that the heroine pretty much misunderstands the MC and since she pretty much has just lived alone and locked up because of being sick she just falls for him while the MC is clueless and then all of a sudden she turns up and the MC just starts blushing because she's beautiful and then he faints. Then the two of them are a thing all of a sudden, even though the two didn't make anything clear and the MC doesn't even know who she was and thought everything was a dream.

So if your looking for something light hearted and a story that doesn't really take itself serious then this might be something to have a look at. There are some interactions between characters but most of it doesn't actually involve the MC outside of when he is farming or cooking for them. Some of it is really good but for the most part it's more of the same if you read far enough into the story. I also wouldn't recommend reading a lot of chapters in one stretch though since a lot of it is just the same farming stuff unless you find it really interesting to read about how the MC plants X seeds and X ability activates and gives X effect and get's +X xp, +X job xp, X skill increased slightly and so on.

Still I would give this a 3, 5 but since there isn't such a score and it is closer to a 4 then a 3 it get's a 4. <<less
