Well it's not a proper review but just a doubt, I knew the plot was cliche so I didn't expect much but read it anyway. The more I read, the more my doubt grew, I just don't get MC's concept of money because firstly she knew about Ml's heaven defying money making prowess from the very beginning and she used to accept those hella expensive room full of gifts casually and I was like ok, this is a mary sue novel and this is how it's supposed to be, but... more>> then came MC's stinginess, oh no, her thriftiness like a virtuous wife..... and she wanted to save money on what? An extra dress for the wedding because it'll be too much and those world famous designers invited doesn't require money... well it's for the ML to care obviously, I'm not saying it's wrong to save money but her double standards are so obvious that it makes one speechless, she wanted to save on wedding candy and I was like whaaat, and her reason being after marriage it's her money too...... after working (I don't know when she actually worked but still) in the company and studio she realised how hard it is to earn money, so she is saving by giving less samples products of which the formula was given by system, all her achievements from the appearance to her talent were because of system even her relationship because if not for those missions neither she nor the ML would've have taken any initiative at all, you say that she's talented in painting but you know without system's help she would've been among the masses not like this one of a kind artist, coz if she had such a talent wouldn't she be famous in her original world right, I'm saying that I don't have a problem with that because each and everything in a mary sue world is created for female lead and nothing could go against it and I know it, my issue is about her lamenting about her hard earned money, hard earned beauty and her hard work, and I'm like where in the hell did she get the guts to add hard along those words, she lives a life where is she says money, the ML would literally start raining it on her and she won't have a problem until that rain will splash on other people which will make her realise that boss's money is hard earned right...I don't get why does she feel heartache for things that were not her's in the first place, it's like the step sis feeling sad over the inheritance which was not originally her but anything she own' s right now is not her's too, I'm not saying she should spend boss's money extravagantly but it's like she already spent a million but is now considering to spend or save a thousand, that's why I said I don't get her concept of money at all!!!! <<less

I had been avoiding this bc some reviews weren't too positive but nvm, this is pretty fun! I want more!! I also love Chu Chu, pls marry me!! If you're looking for a funny novel with cute fluffy romance and sane characters then read this. It's mostly angst free, MC has a big golden finger, the main characters are too perfect except for minor flaws like ML's jealousy and psych issues but in these novels it's seen as his charm, this is a perfect novel for escapism. Obviously this is... more>> not a masterpiece and the characters might not be unique. But come on, that's one of the charms of this novel, not everything has to be serious. This is the perfect novel to forget about reality. <<less

It's a cool slice-of-life novel to read when you're bored. Of course, for you to really enjoy reading this, you need to ignore all the sexism, xenophobia and racism.

At the start I was really interested in this, putting a couple of hours in and even reading it while I was in class. But after a hundred or so chapters went by I found myself getting just plain bored with this novel. The MC, Gu Shishi is alright for the most part, but overall her character is pretty bland, nothing really special about her beside having a system and being talented in painting.

The side characters are likable, especially the ML's sister. They aren't brain dead side characters who only... more>> exist to highlight the MC and they do seem to have personalities of their own.

The only really big issue I have with this novel is the ML. His character is so unappealing! He constantly hides things from the MC and get jealous at the smallest things. I know most MLs in this genre are like that but he really jolts my nerves. He never tries to clear up ANY misunderstandings that he himself made and he can't even communicate properly with the people around him. The thing that really put the final nail in the coffin for me is when he thinks of of having children without even asking the MC on how she felt about that kind of thing!! Seriously that's a major red flag if I've ever seen one, both people in the relationship should be on mutual grounds and should respect each other boundaries.

Also, lets talk about the ML's 'curse'. I mean it's seriously flat out ridiculous who in the world would ever believe that?! Well besides superstitious people, with how some of the people who are portrayed as intelligent in the novel, should be able to figure out how s*upid this whole 'curse' thing really is.

The main characters and their synergy is absolutely to die for. So utterly adorable and charming and the supporting characters are also making me squeal by how foolishly cute they can be.

Although the side characters might not play too much of a big role except for supporting, cheering or cannon foddering, they're written well enough to be able to tell apart to a degree.

Time and time again I had to remember the concept of how the story MC transmigrated to is an absolute sh*t show so the author has written... more>> it mostly accordingly so.

MC is like a ray of sunshine breaking the curse of these characters including the original body's owner's set up.

The love story between the two takes a bit to take off, slowly but surely both will fall in love with each other sincerely.

Unlike most common CEO stories wher either ML chases MC like mad to court and eat her tofu or MC chooses to latch onto the big golden thigh out of greed, this one is literally forced by MC's system. Why is it there a system and why did she transmigrate? No idea. It's a comedy :'D

ML is an absolute sweet heart, foul mouth but softest core ever. He never takes advantage of MC, the exemplar gentleman to the point I want to proudly show him off to other MLs and scoff how this is how you properly treat and pamper your lady.

The main characters have a plethora of temperaments, making them seem more realistic and relatable.

The story is very light hearted and comedic, since again, it's original plotline is so cliché it doesn't take much brains for someone with common sense to counter attack the villains. (If you wanna argue that this kind of OG story doesn't exist, I wish the same but sadly they're there, en masse in Josei/shoujo genres...)

And despite CEO ML strikes harshly back against the people that hurt his dear waifu, it was never really out of the realms of law breaking or ruthless. All in all, regardless how OP her system was, none of it would've worked if the ML wasn't an absolute sweetheart and gentleman.

Downside of it is what you could argue that her system skill set and looks enhancements is what drew people including the ML in, everybody else was IQ nerfed by original MC or their author so she had a smooth flower road ahead of her. There are also a lot of plot holes I'd love to go over with but it really doesn't matter, it dominantly entertaining not leaving me much space to dwell over.

It's a fluffy feels-good novel without drawing aggro from the readers with pure angst build up. Really needed a break from those pure angst sorts, feels unhealthy reading too much of them. <<less

The chapter are cut but it is good to read, has a good translation and it made me read faster ! 😂

The ''evil'' characters are annoying, which made their fall more satisfying (still didn't read the end, just saying that when they don't win an argument it's fun)

I personally liked this story a lot. There are certain an ample amount of satisfying face-slapping moments. The MC's system is not crazy OP - as in she could just pull out anything from it to solve any problems that she might be facing. MC was witty and her Chinese painting ability made the story much more interesting.

In addition to the main plot between MC and ML, the MC's interactions with the various supporting characters were interesting as well. :)

The start was pretty good but then there were so many plot holes or more like there wasn't any plot.

The beauty standards shown here is really toxic. According to me such things shouldn't be written about as it can have a psychological impact if someone young reads such novels.

There didn't seem to be any love between the the leads. Everything just happened and seemed kinda nonsensical and forced.

The system itself was boring.

All in all, the plot had some potential but it was wasted by how badly executed it was

The FL is pretty smart, decisive and a salted fish that’s also protective of her ML. ML gets a little annoying on occasion, like when he completely misreads the FL and the author casually blames it on his mental issues. But besides this and the FL’s family being downright annoying, all the other characters are pretty likeable and watching the FL rather desperately seducing the ML while being absolutely embarrassed is just so adorable. 10/10 recommend

I'm not rating this novel as I read many similar plots before (most off the Chinese novels I found online are just some cheap knockoffs of a successful novel, I don't really know which is original and which is the knock off so I may give an unfair rate) and this one didn't give me any surprise or anything that particularly pique my interest.

the story of this novel is pretty nice a little better than some of the ones I read just the usual annoying stuff (iron rules)

    • No matter what she does or the settings of the story, MC is the best (most beautiful, successful, famous,...) one in the world and marry a ML who is the second best one.
    • It is a crime not to love or respect the MC more than anyone including your close relatives and should be punished severely
    • Unreasonable or illogical setting for characters
    • narrow minded, ignorant and shallow world view point
There is a lot of novels about this conflict between the biological and adopted daughter, they have some difference in the settings or POV but they all have similar plotline of the authors trying to make the MC look the most pitiful and gain everyone's sympathy yet they give her everything and make everyone in the story r*tards just to make her look better. I can't understand what is pitiful about about having a cheat (only you have in the world) that can help you get anything you want, an id*ot ML that can do anything for the MC, and brainless sidekicks that just follow the ALWAYS RIGHT MC

-R*tard character become the mc's faithful dog after his family goes bankrupt due to her

Gu Shishi took a look at him. She hadn't expected that Luo Zheng had a soul inside of him that was not yet beyond saving. [hehe]

Ps: All this beyond saving id*ot did was to trying to hit on the MC as prank. Although this ack is a bit low, he didn't break the law nor hurt the MC in any way. He didn't even touch her.

- R*tard grandmother blame the MC's parents for caring for the foster daughter (they raised for 20 years) and ignore the MC who is their biological daughter, yet she takes the MC (a person she only met 2 times) as her granddaughter and treats her better than her biological granddaughter [hehe]

- R*tard friend leave her "fake" friends who always ask for something in return for the noble MC who just got close to her to complete the system task and she (R*tard friend) even believe that the MC did all that for a stranger she (mc) just met because of real friendship (How touching [hehe])

The MC's beauty and excellence is just fake made by the system and story gets more and more r*tarded and unbearable. I also don't know what the writer hold against people with heart disease

Actually this is your typical novel with villainess transmigration, two-faced white lotus FL, tr*sh parents of MC, and the hidden OP character/villain, but I think it was pretty good. The system is perhaps too much of a cheat (the beauty thing) but MC put effort to complete tasks and what the system does is prompt/threaten with death. ML who's germaphobe doesn't really want to interact with the fiancée who was forced on him, but when he realised that MC and him had pretty much same circumstances (aka miserable childhood) he... more>> starts to somewhat take care of her. It wasn't too long, not boring and overall a fun read which I would come back to. If you're sceptic about the novel because of reviews, then I recommend reading for yourself first before judging, it's maybe not worth a real 5 stars but it's a good read. <<less

The story is about a woman who transmigrated, but with the catch that she must receive $1000 from her husband for 1 day of life through gifts or through food. There is a maximum amount of days she can have though. The problem is that the ML is a germaphobe and had a difficult childhood, thus he is not interested in being near the MC. He is also a tsundere and very oblivious lol

It's a very interesting system with that kind of mission. It's very funny though, and I definitely... more>> recommend it. My only problem with the translation is how short each chapter is since the translation is divided...

When the ML and FL finally sleep together, everything else goes smoothly and the story gets better. <<less

Only at C33, which I'm guessing is probably around C10 for the raws (translator had likely split up the raw chapts into 3 parts as each chapt is super short), my first impression of this story was: Beauty and the Beast. It's not entirely the same concept but it's similar in the sense that the ML is like the lonely Beast who craves companionship but is afraid of getting rejected due to his special circumstances.

ML is known as the cursed, harbinger of bad luck, everyone is afraid of him... more>> and thus he leads an isolated life in his mansion with his servants. He has a grumpy nature (his Doctor calls him Grim Huo) but is actually a huge softie. He is sensitive to FL's mood and is a closeted tsundere. I have a soft spot for characters like this...

The missions gives by FL's systems are actually pretty fun. I liked how eating is also considered as gifts by the ML and each meal powers up her life bar a little.

FL is adaptable and happy-go-lucky, she doesn't dwell on unnecessary negativity and is whole heartedly focused on extending her life bar. She's happy to latch onto ML even when he persistently scares her away and made her do chores like a housemaid.

Characters are rather 2 dimensional and the writing isn't groundbreaking phenomenal, but I enjoyed it. This would appeal to people looking for something lighthearted to read. <<less

Overall it was a good one.

The MC and ML are both healing type, you can see the MC how she do her best and the ML how he adjust his life, both until the end no words saying I LOVE YOU from both of them, they do it thru actions and not in words.

The VERY beginning was good because it had tension and the very real threat of dying quickly because of the system's unorthodox way of letting her earn more time alive. Then she got to OP and the story lost its luster.

What should've been an interesting idea quickly had its potential crushed because the author couldn't handle making the MC suffer even the slightest hardships.

MC herself is a 5/10 to me. Not bad but not particularly good. She doesn't make me want to die when I read the novel and... more>> that's pretty good already. Her only talent is drawing and it makes sense because she was a painter in her old life and devoted her entire (short) life into honing those skills.

ML is fairly generic. 3.5/10. Cold, powerful, friendless, rich, handsome, and has 0 EQ. Don't particular like him but I don't hate him. He's a serious germaphobe with insomnia and an even more serious adversity to getting close to people because he thinks he'll curse them somehow. He gets bonus points for caring about his sister though.

The relationship between MC and ML leaves much to be desired. I don't find it appealing or interesting honestly. Its development hinges on the fact that the MC is constantly under threat of death or harsh penalty if she doesn't make him spend money on her or make him like her, the system warns her of the consequences several times when the MLs affection for her dropped several levels, so she HAS to make him like her and spend time with him. ML is obviously flattered and developing feelings for her because he thinks she's doing all these nice things for him because she wants to. How sad.

Side characters are decent. 6.5/10 for not being entirely brainless and for at least having some personality and the (extremely rare) ability to better themselves instead of suffering some unrealistic punishment.

The system is a 2/10. It has no personality and is simply a lifeless interface for the MC to use. (Not a bad thing. I like systems like this.) It forces her to get things from the ML in order to live. Why? Who knows.* It also has an upper limit to how many days she can earn in total. Why? Who knows.* Too many OP halos and whatever almost right off the bat. 'Rose perfume that never smells bad with magical abilities to stop insomnia' 'Hair as black as ink, skin as white as snow halo' 'Perfect body hair removal halo' 'Super sexy when drunk halo' 'Perfect skin potion' 'Halo to make you be able to paint masterpieces' etc.

*We all know it's to force her to be around him and interact with him whether she likes to or not.

The plot is slow and boring. It mainly focuses on MC and MLs relationship and MCs system mandated tasks of making people like her and gaining recognition for her talents. No focus on MLs curse beyond talking about how everyone is scared of him for having it, no focus on MCs family drama, no focus on MLs brother (the BF of the sister) or the MCs sister (the main antagonist of this story). So slow

Some small points I didn't like:

    • MLs insomnia problem was forgotten maybe 10~ chapters into the story. MC thought he died because of it in the novel but never really brought it up again.
    • The fact that MC is in a novel is never really mentioned again. She seems a bit too comfortable living as someone else. Did she have nothing to live for in her previous life? We'll never know
    • ML being successful (or even being) in the business world doesn't make sense. It's all about connections and meeting people. (Things he lost and doesn't do because of his curse) And he's infamous for being cursed and spreading misfortune to everyone around him. So why on earth would people work with him at all?? Why would HE choose this kind of work in the first place???? Just being around people makes him sick, so he decides to choose the one job where he HAS to interact with people to make a living?
    • The Chinese beauty standards are STRONG in this novel. Side characters remark on how weirdly white she is at some point.
    • ML nose bleeding over MC for being sexy (tf ?)
    • The system makes MC into MLs perfect girl who doesn't have disgusting pores, is never caked in any kind of makeup, doesn't wear icky perfume, or drops hair everywhere

      Basically he likes that she's not a normal human and idk how to feel about that. He never gets the chance to love her for her real appearance, and I think that's sad. It's like he's been robbed of the character growth he could've had.

A solid short story, satisfying on the karmic end. Her system was pretty amusing in some ways, and it gradually disappears from the story before being too much. There isn’t the obnoxious drama in their relationship from misunderstandings or other nonsense, which was refreshing. The two had a fairly solid relationship, even if it started out for benefits on her side and on his side was a lot about her looks and perceived delicacy. Reallyyyyyyyyyyyyy nice! I reallu enjoyed reading this novel! I first thought it would be too long but no, I actually didnt even realize when I was almost finishing the novel.

This was really soft and fluffy. I love how the interections of the couple keep changing for the better. This is a soft not too overwhelming novel. I laughted many times bc of the things the MC did but at the end the ML thought just too much of things and created misunderstandings, funny misunderstandings that you even think the ML... more>> have low EQ.... but well, in fact he has low EQ xd.

The couple is really OP haha but I really like it. Nice nice <<less

It's a fun read. I was hesitant to read this as first due to some reviews make it seems like everything in this novel is superficial. It's materialistic for sure and has its vain moment (it's a novel about spending money lol) but like that's MOST novels on here, esp w this type of plot. Like, yah there is a beauty upgrade system but tbh, this novel is way less vain than the type of novel w natural extremely beautiful lead that they can't shut up about. And the funny... more>> thing is, the ML doesn't really notice a lot of the upgrade, and the one he noticed tend to link to his clean-freak personality. For example, there is an upgrade that she can customize her eyes, like actual iris, and the lead thought she was sick when she tried to show it off in front of him. What I'm appreciative of is when she chose the beautification specific, it's to her own taste and it's for herself. There is no "he like this type of beauty so I will choose this" type of thinking (although, there wasn'tmany option to begin w). Like im not saying it's good lol, but it's a lot less terrible that the review lead me to believe. You know what you are looking for.

the MC does genuinely care for the ML. She doesn't just do thing just because of the system (it started out that way), but even if she did, can you blame her? Her life is literally dependent on it. But as she level up and has more life capacity, you see that she does genuinely care for him, and he for her. Like the purpose of this system is for them to fall in love, so obviously the mission is going to revolve around how to make him fall for her. He was attracted to her charm + cleanliness at first [system's gift --> dude is a germophobe] but that was after she caught his attention by not being afraid of him.

It's a lot less vain and a lot more caring that some of these reviews will lead you go believe. It's a fun and light hearted read. Bad people gets what they deserved.. And the "bad guy" are both female and male!!! This is not just a female vs petty female story. <<less

    1. Somehow the comments and reviews from other readers are really HELPFUL! So that I didn't waste my time on reading stressful and confusing novels with the vseless characters/MC who always acting stvpid all the time like just make this comedy.

    1. I love transmigration MCs but sometimes others kinda.. Its not really good when instead of giving the body original owner a better or good life the isekai soul making it more worst miserable!

The boss is a tsundere and the MC just keeps digging holes for herself. She'll misunderstand something the boss says as cute or think that he likes a painting she made when it's the opposite. It's so cute. Usually I don't like misunderstandings and even though this sounds like it's full of them, it's really not. They get mixed up a lot but they actually talk to each other so it doesn't get too bad too fast. I really like the novel so far! It's funny and easy to binge... more>> in one sitting. <<less
