Elia, a princess indulged in the wealth and love provided by the Empire, lives a blissful life. However, her happiness is brutally shattered when she is betrayed and offered as a sacrifice for the Empire.

After returning, Elia realizes that this world is actually the setting of a book. Determined to change her fate, she enters into a contract marriage with a villain.

“We just need to get what we want from each other.”

The villain, who has not yet embraced his darker nature, initially appears gentle. But then things take a turn:

“Elia, isn’t marriage supposed to be sacred?”

Aksion blocks her path. She tries to escape, and this attempt alone turns the villain’s gaze dangerous.

“Please fulfill your duty.”

The focus of the villain’s unwavering devotion has shifted.

First off, the translation on this is fantastic. I wish I could give this novel a separate star rating based just on that, because it deserves a 5. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job!

The concept for the story is fine. It isn't anything earth shattering, but it has elements that interest me.

I tend to prefer more struggles to succeed than we get with this story, but I can live with that. I know there are plenty who prefer their MCs to be on competency rails. To each their... more>> own.

The main issue with this for me is the execution and writing. We're told that something important happened rather than experiencing more often than not. Critical events (like say, a wedding) are handled with a few sentences. As a result, it never truly felt immersive to me, and the pacing felt rushed. <<less

Just like the previous reviewer, I too find the translation exceptionally good. The translator manages to convey all the nuances and subtleties and also doesn't mix up the pronouns like 'he' with 'she' and so on. This attention to detail greatly enhances the reading experience and allows the story to flow smoothly.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I think the story is not rushed at all. On the contrary, it has no fillers at all. The author maintains a tight narrative focus, keeping the plot moving at without sacrificing character development or... more>> world-building.

HOWEVER, the pattern of the story feels run-of-the-mill. It follows the same trajectory as many other regression and vengeance stories in the genre. This adherence to familiar tropes is a bit disappointing, as I was hoping for more innovation in the plot structure or character arcs.

Despite this, I still find myself enjoying the read. The author's skill in crafting engaging dialogue and tense action sequences helps to elevate the material above its conventional plot structure. The main character's journey, while following a predictable path, is still compelling thanks to well-written emotional beats and satisfying moments of triumph.

In conclusion, while this webnovel may not break new ground in terms of plot, it excels in its execution. The combination of stellar translation, tight pacing, and immersive world-building makes for an entertaining read. If you're a fan of the genre and don't mind familiar story beats, you'll likely find plenty to enjoy here. Just don't expect a revolutionary take on the regression and vengeance formula.

So, in short, I give this webnovel 5 stars out of 5. That's because the story deserves 4 star because I still enjoyed reading it. The final star is awarded solely for the stellar translation work, which truly elevates the entire reading experience. The translator's skill in maintaining the nuances of the original text while providing a smooth, error-free English version deserves special recognition and significantly contributes to the overall quality of this webnovel. <<less

If you can pass chapter one, you are accepting to read some cheap cliche for the rest of this novel. Nothing new about the plot. It gets more readable in a few chapters but the ML wasn't really to my taste: He was tamed too quickly...

After they entered the monster hunting arc, things got repetitive. It felt like I read the same chapter again and again.

Spoiler

Every event, like her confessing she knows the future, was absolutely underwhelming. Other example: She gets harmed, finds ML waiting for her to wake up, and that's it. The author didn't even try to express their emotions. Their love felt like homework.

[collapse]

Every major event felt unimportant. Couple paragraphs of explanation and two sentences of word exchange between the leads and we are done. Especially the ending felt like child's play.

I'm giving 1.5 stars just because it was finishable but I advise you to find a more fun novel than this. <<less

It starts pretty good and the story is almost entirely good, I like the pacing for most of the story, not too slow not too fast. But then it fumbles the ending. We learned things slowly, but then in the last 3 or 4 chapters things go way too quickly, the ultimate truth plus the climax plus the epilogue in just 3 short chapters? It’s way too quick to end the story, but a rushed ending is better than no ending or a bad ending, and despite being rushed it... more>> wasn’t a bad ending, so it’s worth a read to me <<less
