On Christmas Eve, amid snowfall, Xue Li received a call from Chun Xin. On the other end of the line, she heard Chun Xin’s quiet breathing and a whisper of her name.

“I’m sorry, I miss you…”

Amidst the noisy background, Xue Li couldn’t hear her. “I’m busy, I’ll call you back later,” she said.

After hanging up, and closing the car door, a gentle female voice on the radio murmured soothing words, reminding listeners to bundle up as the cold wave approached.

That winter was unusually cold, and after that call, Chun Xin’s phone was never reachable again. She often threw tantrums, but Xue Li didn’t pay much attention.

In March of the following year, Xue Li learned of Chun Xin’s passing. Her phone only held Xue Li’s number.

She secretly came to see her, staying in the simple self-built rental house behind the school. Chun Xin passed away from what the radio said was an exceptionally severe winter. Chun Xin had just turned seventeen that year.

On the way there, Xue Li saw buds sprouting on the trees lining the road, and when the wind blew, pink petals fluttered down.

Winter had passed, spring had come, and the radio host’s warm voice persisted. But Chun Xin was no longer there.

Ten years separated by life and death, Xue Li thought every day, “If only everything could start over, how wonderful it would be.”

She had everything they had once dreamed of together, but still couldn’t feel happiness, staring at the bleak ceiling, feeling emptiness beside her.

“If only everything could start over, how wonderful it would be.”

Just finished this book... Gotta say I am really thankfull to the translator starting this book...

I was inpatient and had to finish it quickly, it's a pretty long and sad book (in the beginning).

The Main characters are very nice and you understand their reasons for their way of doing things.

... more>> No "I am reborn and let's get rich as a kid" and no "I am genius now since I am reborn and will change the fate of everyone even tho I don't know them".

One of the main characters is very egoistic and indifferent to anyone except for her parents and her lover while the other MC is just a bright kind girl who loves everyone and doesn't bother to hate people.

Some of the chapters felt bad in a sense that I could have lived without the extra drama they added.

The book has several parts that may trigger people (child ab*se, su*cide).

In the end they had a happy family. Wish there was a story to what happened after the MC died in the original timeline (her mother must have been devastated since she loved her way to much)...

Gioe this books more reads and everyone will enjoy this story :) <<less

I don't know why this story have a low rating when it was this good. Glad I started reading this.

The story was a heart-wrenching one. It made me remembered that there'd always someone out there who despite all the effort to fight to have a better life, struggle and couldn't make it in the end. I realized how easy life for me even though my family isn't rich but I still have a roof to sleep and food to eat. Chun Xin didn't even have someone who she can called... more>> 'family'.

It's a beautiful story. I can feel all of their emotions. I cried and laughed at the same time.

Thank you for translating this story. <<less

this story was truly special, I love how the characters have unique characteristics that are kept throughout the story. I loved their journey, from little children to adults.

and of course, the fact that this story is just about... them. it’s just these two, stuck together like conjoined twins, sharing a bed for a lifetime because they can’t bear to be apart.

this story reminded me of how I felt when I read Her Mountain, Her Sea. it’s not quite the same but I think if you liked that one you’ll like... more>> this one too.

became one of my all time favorites, highly recommended! <<less
