Xu Qingran, originally an antagonist in an apocalyptic novel, finds himself pulled into a different interstellar world by a system after his death. In this new world, he is unloved by his biological father and stepmother, and his innocent stepbrother interferes with his relationships. He suffers ab*se from a scoundrel lover, enduring a tumultuous journey before ultimately achieving a grand happy ending.

The system instructs him, “You must undertake the strategy task, lay low, improve yourself, and turn the tables!”

Xu Qingran agrees, determined to fight back fiercely.

He then becomes a master at ruining others’ plans.

The system advises, “Act obedient to win back your father’s love and reclaim the wealth left by your biological mother!”

Xu Qingran responds, “Alright, I’ll be obedient.”

He kicks open the door, confronting the despicable couple occupying his mother’s property, demanding, “Will you leave peacefully or be carried out?”

Outside, people label him as a jealous brother, disruptive and ill-tempered, a notorious young master of the Yin Long faction.

The system says, “You have a natural advantage in appearance. Just act like a ‘green tea’ character, clear your name, and you’ll be more beloved!”

However, Xu Qingran not only counters all accusations but also outmaneuvers every ‘green tea’ character and intimidates even the haughty Third Prince.

Ultimately, he solidifies his reputation as an untouchable villain across the Empire.

I enjoyed this. I'd say the biggest issue with it is that it's too long for its actual content. It's stuffed with way, way too much "netizen" content that drags the pace down. The saving grace is that the characters' antics are steadily funny, which keeps it just lively enough. There are some things noticeably lacking in the plot, including overly contrived dramatic moments, but for a pure entertainment novel it's nothing egregious.

This is a pretty debatable novel for me. The main characters are amazing, the kind I would like them to be.

MC isn't a damsel in distress. Unlike other novels where ML always overshadows the MC, here both characters are equal in terms of strength (actually the MC is a tad stronger). ML isnt vexingly overprotective or clingy. They both have their seperate careers and rarely do they interfere in their partners work.

What I didn't like was -

The novel felt like a cheap showbiz novel where the MC are military... more>> officers rather than actors. I was good with the faceslapping but what put me off was the livestreams and forums. Like every thing the MC does has to be discussed in the forum, for instance

ML was caught kissing a man (mc). The forum spiraled into a turmoil, pestering the "official military website" to reveal ML's mysterious lover. The so called "official military website" overwhelmed by the public had to ask ML to reveal his lover.

Like, how was the so called"official military website" overwhelmed by public ? ML is a general, not a actor, he isn't obliged to reveal his love life. Atleast have some decorum about being a military official

OH MY GOODNESS!! I AM SO DISHEARTENED THAT THIS IS SO UNDERRATED LIKE MAANNNNN!!! THIS SHT IS A GEEEEM!!!

Like for real? The characters are amazing! The plot? It's bomb!

I personally like the MC coz deym, he was so ruthless and really NOT YOUR TYPICAL MC! He ain't lying when he said he don't like you coz he's gotta blow your blls if he want to!

At first they hate each other that they really wanna kill each other. They are really hostile with each other and there's a reason for it. I didn't feel their love story was a slowburn because I feel that everything was in a right pace! There's NO dull moments! Like deym, I want amnesia so I can reread this again!!

I just highly recommend this! There's action, comedy, adventure, gore, revenge, system is not shtty, face slapping, dog food, dog blood!

PROS:

    • MC is really a madman! He's unlike any MC and his actions are quite unpredictable
    • ML is also a madman lol and his interactions with MC (especially the earlier ones) are either very thrilling or funny
    • I love how hardworking MC is - he is strong, he has a golden finger (his psychic pool upgrades) but he is so dang hardworking as well
    • When they got together, they weren't fixed at the hip. They can go without seeing each other for months because they prioritized being a Colonel/General and they are assigned at different places. Although if it's necessary, they really go out of their way to meet each other (madness style lol)
CONS:

    • The formatting is a bit hard to read and sometimes there are text missing or duplicated (but hey! It's free so I'm not really complaining)
    • The latter part of the story (close to ending) felt like a breeze. I was so shocked when I learned that MC/ML has already been together for several years already like whaaaat? Where did we time skip?
    • In the later part, I couldn't understand MC/ML much anymore because the way they are thinking aren't that mentioned anymore specifically

When MC was sent to the evil tower after assaulting the crown prince, ML seems worried about him but he didn't really go to the tower to "save" MC.

He did talk with the warden and all but I feel like it was lacking (cause ML knows just how tragic the tower 1 is)

At that, he also chose to go to the new mission (which I understand is urgent)

But I just feel it was out of style for ML not to go mad knowing that the crown prince will most likely torture MC

Then, there was also MC drugging MC to sleep so that he can sneak out and let a demon lord invade himself so he can have more power

I understand that MC can make decisions of his own.

I just feel like this is contradictory to the romance or relationship they have because it seems like they are making decisions without really considering the others' opinion.

I don't know, maybe it's just not expressed well but I dislike this part of the story

Wow. This is a really great OP protag novel, probably one of the best I've read. I'm actually really surprised because I wasn't expecting to like it this much.

General plot set up has MC transmigrating into an interstellar pseudo-guideverse world from his apocalyptic world with the singular mission to seduce ML, but he basically treats this mission as an afterthought and mostly just does what he wants. There's no real overarching goal underlying MC's actions, but the plot also doesn't feel aimless or stagnant, as MC has a lot of... more>> smaller goals, mainly vengeance driven lol

MC is very powerful from the start, and while he does gain strength over the course of the novel, he starts off powerful enough at the beginning to win without much issue, so the leveling up is pretty irrelevant. There's really only one moment near the end where MC actually struggles to win, but despite the overall lack of struggle, I still found each arc of his journey interesting in its own right due to how much I liked MC's personality.

He definitely lives up to the antihero protagonist tag, not shying away from mu*der and really living by the motto of "an eye for an eye." Despite the brutality of his actions, MC also has such unintentionally hilarious moments, and his interactions with his system are great. That moment when he caught two guys getting it on in the shower and decided to openly watch for educational purposes - I actually died when he asked them whether giving or receiving felt better so that he could decide which position he'd rather take in the future.

ML is a really interesting character, and he had many more dimensions to him than just being a cold and overpowered ML. He's a naturally cold hearted person who puts a genial face on around others, but MC can always see past the facade (and he likes what he sees). I found his backstory particularly compelling, and his relationship with MC was so heartfelt. Really loved those moments where they opened up to one another, especially with ML being such a hidden romantic at heart.

The romance is slow but surprisingly genuine for two OP characters who seem emotionally detached. The two of them are soulmates in every sense, and their relationship only gets deeper as they learn more about each other. MC takes his time to get to know ML, and it's very sweet watching him slowly fall in love. The two of them are also not always in the same place even after getting together and can spend time apart pursuing their own goals without getting obsessive over what the other is doing. It's a very healthy dynamic!

Villains actually have some depth to them, and the plot backstory is so interesting as it's gradually revealed. Evil characters aren't just evil for no reason, and their downfalls are all very satisfying. Both MC and ML are a bit crazy, and they're both entirely supportive of one another in whatever actions the other takes against the villains, no matter how vicious.

There's a surprising number of forum posts for an interstellar novel, but as I do love a showbiz story and the dramatic irony of it all, I actually didn't mind it. They're not intrusive to the story and it does kind of make sense for social media to be so big in a futuristic world. Kind of amusing to watch the public be confused over MC and ML's antics I can't lie.

I really could not put this novel down once I got started! My standard for OP protags has once again been raised, especially when it comes to the level of romance I expect. Truly one of the most unexpectedly beautiful love stories, and one of those couples that will stick with me! <<less

The novel definitely lives up to its title!

The MC, is what a true villain should be: mad, unhinged, kill without blinking. I was shocked, stunned, appalled, yet I canā€™t seem to hate the MC! Other villains who are MCs or MLs donā€™t compare!

The author does very well in keeping the characters consistent in personality. Just when you think the MC starts to soften, BAM! The MC swoops in for the kill! And I mean literally!

As for ML? Heā€™s just as unhinged! The very first scene that introduces him goes to... more>> show heā€™s just as mad as the MC.

Both ML and MC, two people from different worlds, one mad and one madder, yet both are broken souls. When the two collides, do they create destruction? Yes they do and I love it!!

Plot wise, itā€™s not too complicated, but still interesting enough to keep you engaged.

The reason why I docked a star is simply because of translation. Be warned that because itā€™s MTL, names of people, places, and things will be inconsistent! There will also be several chapters where there are repeated scenes, thankfully itā€™s edited to some degree and is understandable to a point. <<less

How Did I Like This Story So Much? I can't believe it. I'm not going to try to justify MC's actions because we all know how brutal he was in his approach. However, I never disliked him. He never pretended to be someone he wasn't and only acted that way considering the circumstances. He simply went with the flow and did what he wanted.

Our protagonists are solitary, selfish, ruthless, and proud. They grew up in different worlds, but both were treated with cruelty. They were forced to mature quickly and... more>> fight for their survival every day. Perhaps that's why their first impression of each other was terrible: they perceived each other as notorious threats. Both recognized the other's strength, but only wanted to destroy it.

The romance between them wasn't abrupt or rushed. It was consistent and natural. The difference between their initial interactions and those after formalizing their relationship is striking. Their dynamic is fun, especially thanks to MC, who is truly crazy in all caps; there's no other word that describes him better.

In this story, you'll find things that may not be easy to read. Cruelty is present. Likewise, the protagonists may not be to your liking. The plot can be somewhat complex due to the system, transmigration, rebirth, and other elements, but nothing difficult to understand. It is definitely a read worth your time. <<less

How come this book is so underated? I'm not in a mood to write usual reviews I used to write in past, so I'll just say: it's recommended to read if you love an unhinged madman who's not afraid of anything and has a mindset of " I'm I'm not embarrassed, then they'll be the ones who'll be embarrassed" as a protagonist, then go ahead read it. It's especially good in the madman catagory.

What I love most about this novel; the MC & ML. Neither fall in love immediately, the ML even loathing the MC at first bc of his inherent nature & what he thought was the MCā€™s. I really fcking appreciated how love grew & there was legit reasons for it. I love the savage MC & the not quite as savage ML (but still pretty crazy too). I also loved the villains werenā€™t cookie cutter bad guys who are cartoonishly evil. Like the evil prince, you were given a good... more>> back story for how he became the way he was. From his upbringing, to his envy & paranoia, to his suppressed desires he couldnā€™t admit to. I almost felt sorry for him. He deserved his fate but you could see how miserable his life was. Even the evil queen you could see how someoneā€™s obsession for power could create a monster. The closet to someone cartoonishly evil would be the brother. He was probably the most shallow character of all, but fortunately heā€™s a minor role. I also appreciated we had a lot of other characters that we get to know. Was this novel perfect, no, there could have been more character development of other char characters, but for a Chinese danmei Iā€™m impressed. Overall a very enjoyable read and Iā€™m sad the extras havenā€™t been translated. Fingers crossed someone picks up the 25 chapters listed as extras <<less

Once of the story that I love. I love the relationship, the story and the pace. MC really mentally and physically strong. But hated to explain the reason why he does something. Always made others misunderstood. While ML because he also experience the same thing he can never misunderstood MC. The facts that MC can make ML free while ML teach MC how to be loved is beautiful.

PS: Aahhhh, I want to read their extra properly.

A delightful story about a somewhat crazy MC finding himself in a somewhat crazy world.

This is a fun story, full of explosive events, and much of the plot is not to be taken seriously. Once you find yourself in a world where there's an unironically names 'evil tower' you know you're not here for deep insights. So if you're reading the story prepare yourself for a crazy time and don't look for much logic in the events.

I very much enjoyed the MC who is unapologetically doing as he pleases, and... more>> has no problem ignoring social norms and expectations. I especially like how whenever he does something extraordinary, unlike the usual reactions of awe and worship you can find in other places, here the main reaction from the audience is 'I'm not even shocked this lunatic did something like thay' and 'as expected from this crazy'.

In addition, MC's relationship with the ML develops on equal footing and in a way and at a pace that makes sence. They're very amusing together.

One of the few stories where I can tolerate the repeated use of livestreams, and forum postings, since most of the time it's the MC trolling his audience. Nothing beats him constantly adding his donation link cause they might as well finance him if they enjoy the drama so much.

The only thing I disliked was towards the very end, the implication that some people are more real than others. The author could have found a better reason to explain how he found himself in this new world.

I love the MC. He is insane and he is unapologetically himself and he is so strong. I love his relationship with ML they are so perfect to each other they are insane together <3, and plot is actually interesting. There no point that I felt bored.

One of my new favourites. I love the strong, take no sh*t MC, and I like how realistic the relationship progressed. Also, even tho ML didnā€™t like MC at first, he never did anything overboard. Most of all though, I like how all the rebirths and transmigration stuff is explained, and the plot twist involving it, and the MC questions that physical intimacy canā€™t be the ā€˜be all end allā€™, leaving no room for couples who arenā€™t in a s*xual relationship. As both characters say, whatā€™s important is the feelings... more>> and understandings between them. The is literally the first ML Iā€™ve ever read out of hundreds of webnovels who is willing to not touch the MC for the rest of their lives if it means hurting him. I completely believe that if both characters were ugly, theyā€™d still be attracted to one another and fall in love. <<less

3, 5/5. Nothing amazing, but not terrible either.

The translation is pretty wonky at times, such as entire paragraphs being duplicated and in few instances the wrong pronouns were used for our MC (called a "her").

What I enjoyed most were the MC and ML's personalities. Ruthless and selfish. I see a few people complaining about them being too "mean" but let's be honest, you don't get to be annoyed when you have tons of BL novels featuring your cliche cold/tsundere-yet-kind characters available to you. This is a breath of fresh air,... more>> and he did show his softer side when it came to the ML.

Removed some stars because:

    • The queen had an underwhelming fate. She was behind all the BS and we didn't even get to know nor witness her punishment.
    • I feel like the main CP could have spent a few more chapters hating each other, to have more tension, make their relationship more believable.
    • The little kid- the Shen nephew, he was pretty important for a while then he just disappeared until the last few chapters, which felt a bit jarring.
    • The whole internet drama and livestreams thing... I know Chinese novels LOVE that stuff (for some reason), but it really felt out of place in this story. I mean, everyone casually making forums and tagging military affairs and drama. Just silly. The relationship between MC and his chat felt superficial as well. He livestreams like, four times and immediately gets tons of donations when he asks for it. Again, he's in the military. I get that this story happens in a far future but it's just too weird for me.
    • I wasn't satisfied with the MC's brother and Lu Cheng's (?) ending. I think a redemption would have been the smarter, more interesting path to take for the sibling. Plus, he planned all those horrible things yet it feels like the author tries to make us feel bad for him when he's seconds away from dying. Focusing on his poor tears and unfocused gaze, reaching out for someone who doesn't even notice him like... Then the MC rejoices and it feels like whiplash?? Idk how to explain, the whole thing just felt weird. As for Lu Cheng, it's like the author didn't know what to do with him. One chapter he's regretful and in love with MC, the next he's cold and acts like he genuinely moved on.... but then he goes right back to being a simp?? he's so inconsistent and frankly useless.
    • The wolf dogs... they're nice and all, but they don't add much. Just here for our MC to look cool but other than that, meh.
    • Grew tired of our main cp not communicating well in the second half of the novel, when it's stated at that point that they're always frank with each other. Yet one secretly disappears on a su*cide mission, then the other drugs his partner to go behind his back to also "sacrifice" himself... my god, I thought you two were more mature than that.
    • Our MC super rare "D" type wasn't used as much as I wished. Obviously it's meant to be an "omega" thing, but he doesn't do anything with it. He briefly heals someone once, then he helps ML with his deep psych issues (tho barely mentioned)... and finally he apparently uses his D aura or whatever to manipulate all the simp E types at the evil tower, but again we don't know why or what he did with that power? Feels like wasted potential. There was more to do with it than using it as a "haha see he's violent and cold despite being a soft uwu D-type!!!" joke.
    • The sister story bored me to tears. I get that it was supposed to be a sad backstory for the MC, but I didn't care about the sister and she was even annoying afterwards, being around to ship our main couple. Just like other characters, she's just... there, not doing much. A tool to be used to advance the plot and magically give our MC what he needs to climb higher.

it is because MC received OP powers in his past life and worked relentlessly; he already completed the difficult zero to hero journey before transmigrating. He also ends up recognizing that this OPness that he has in the new world can lead to mistakes via his overconfidence.

There is character growth, and I love how the MC slowly is able to open up and form more normal relationships. The MC and ML communicate well, which is refreshing. It also isn't an aimless novel. Themes such as self-determination, nature versus nuture, social identity and of course, love, are explored. Specifically:

In a world where gene compatibility exists (which tbh IRL we are getting closer to that every day), should gene compatibility be trusted over natural feelings? If you are labeled as predisposed to crime, does that mean you 100% will end up committing a crime? If a person is predisposed to violence but experienced past trauma, would they have grown up to be predispositioned to violence without the trauma? What if their environment stabilizes and they can heal?

Anyway, don't pass this up. Wonderful read that gets better with each chapter as the author grows with the characters. <<less

The story started out like a typical face slapping reborn/transmigrated MC getting screwed over by dad, stepmom and illegitimate son. Then it turned into a futuristic military demon alien fighting world.

MC is super OP. He transmigrated from an apocalypse world and is merciless to anyone who plots against him. But he's also kind to those who're kind to him or merciful to those who're redeemable. The funniest is a minor villain who provoked MC first and was beaten up. He became so fearful of MC that he rather avoid MC... more>> but MC chose to join his faction instead. They ended up with a kind of love hate friendship.

ML is also super OP and can be merciless when killing but he's more soft-hearted than MC (in MC's opinion anyway). The development of their relationship is slow burn. They do not get together till the later half of the story and even then they spend a lot of time apart due to their work. <<less

Whew, good shit. Iā€™m going to bump up the rating to a 5 (I think my rating is around a 4.5) because I think this novel deserves more attention. Also, itā€™s completed on the TL website! A few translation errors here and there but still readable.

To give a brief summary, we have a mad dog MC rebirthed into a pretty hated figure in the interstellar era. Our ML is the cold archetype commander disguised as a gentlemen with some dog-like tendencies (heh, especially when they finally get together). Itā€™s an... more>> enemies-to-lovers romance, where the MC and ML are genuinely plotting to kill each other for a bit, which makes it honestly all the better.

One particular thing I love about the MC is that heā€™s a true mad dog. He literally talks with his fists, but he has a certain bottom line he doesnā€™t cross (unless itā€™s for the ML). These tendencies donā€™t even change after he forms a relationship, thank god. Youā€™ll see his journey from a military student to an esteemed position in the military, and relish in his very unconventional ways of getting there. Heā€™s not afraid of failure, and it shows. Heā€™s just a very interesting character with dimensional features.

I wonā€™t get too much into the ML, but just know heā€™s worthy. Ahhhh heā€™s the absolute best. Loyal but also just as crazy as the MC if given the chance. The plot is solid and I have little to complain about there. I donā€™t think there were any large loopholes or something of that sort. I recommend!!! <<less

The comedy is peak and most characters were lovable.

It did feel a bit dragged towards the end and honestly most times it's like every other character were made to fit the MC.

Cause if I were the prince, surely he'd be dead in the early chapters.

Apart for that slight cliche it was quite nice.

I have to be honest, this had one of the best MC ever! Even without the bl tag he would've still been my favorite MC. He's chaotic, a lunatic, and a rollercoaster of personalities. This little lunatic has grown on me I swear.

Onto the book, mann the plot was just *chef's kiss*. I got hooked from chapter 1 and stayed up late for 2 days straight. Romance? Please I need their love, I craveee their love. The ML is just the greenest flag out there omg.

4.5*. I skimmed a few chapters. The last arc was a drop in quality for me, and there's a bit too many unnecessary fillers overall. Still a very engaging read and the characters are well-written.

- MC is really merciless and relentless when it comes to revenge. He can't outrun his villain origin so he directly embraced it instead

- always wants to do things the hard way which is wild

- things that the MC cares about in order: 1. Power 2. Trolling 3. Power. We love a decisive king

- ML is a really complex character and difficult to figure out (because it's his second life). He has a fear of being controlled, which makes him unwilling to open his heart to anyone, but is a closet romantic who still wants to marry for lurveee

- He's also the MC's enabler and partner in crime

- Using your 5 year old nephew to avoid an arranged marriage with the MC though? That's messed up.

- some face slappings are NOT effective (cough original host's family coughcough)

- the system is annoying and it makes me want to read a system slapping novel

- I surprisingly want to ship MC and mad dog Ming Hai together

- Mu Ziyu is one of the most entertaining characters ever. He's like a teenager throwing petty tantrums most of the time so I can't even hate him

- Lu Cheng needs to suffer more. He's so wishy washy. Despite Qingan's many MANY sins, he at least is very devoted to Lu Cheng. They should've suffered more

It's quite a fun read if you turn your common sense off, so many plotholes and inconsistency, such as:

  1. His step-brother saying MC is bullying him, his friends believe him, but somehow they also believe it when this step-brother say MC is timid and weak???
  2. The AS device and many mundane things that MC should know but doesnt because he's a transmigrator, somehow the general just let it slide without asking further
  3. The system is sometimes advanced, but sometimes so dumb, it could hack even the most heavily guarded system but cant even do basic surveillence, I forget when in the story but remember feeling confused because his problems can easily be solved with the system's help but the system goes missing
So, read this story without expecting logical details and you'll be fine!
