Lin Lan woke up and transmigrated into a shrewish wife who drank pesticides. The original owner ruined her husband’s promising future, and all five of her children became villains in the end.

Her in-laws are biased. The uncles and aunts are insatiable. She has five bear children and a cold-faced husband to take care of. . .

Lin Lan: Trying to take my money? We’ve already separated. I’ll take it back!

My husband dares to run wild? I’ll teach him to be a new man!

It’s difficult to discipline wild children? That is due to the lack of love! Shower them with love!

What’s the matter with that cold-faced man?

Pretty disappointing compared to other female transmigration novels where the story takes place in the 1970s. The FL is a rather useless adult when it comes to various house chores and the ML is like a stoic empty shell. Neither characters have much personal development, especially the ML. The children aren't cute either.

I love the story! 😍 The story is more of mature type that other transmigration stories I've read. Especially the golden finger trope, where FL has unrealistic abilities (tho transmigration is unrealistic lol) and everything solves with the use of such powers but the both MC and ML feel more real than other stories.

Love this novel. I cant wait for the complete translation so I finished reading the mtl version. This is a really sweet story that makes u love the sides characters more than the main. I will revisit them once the translation is complete. Translator-sama thank you for your hard work. 🫰🏻

This is quite a heartwarming story. The transmigration trope is as I have expected, but what's great is how the story progressed, though I was a bit expecting more on its ending ending a bit, it was quite a good read.

The story is ok. I think the best part are the kids, they are adorable and funny but I cant say that the story is very interesting. This is better read to pass the time.

I have to say that all the fighting with the Grandma is very stressing and it takes most of the story. There was a point that I had to stop for a while because all the people in that family made me so angry, even the kids! They only fight and complain and fight and so... more>> on, cant imagine how horrible it was to live in that house for decades, I understand now why the eldest kid stays outside all the time. And the worst part is that after all this fighting... the face slapping isnt satisfiying at all!!! I dont know why but it doesnt make me feel satisfied like other novels...

Anyways im going to finish it because, why not. Also I want to see what happens with little Sanwang (3rd son) he is my fav. Thank you so much for the translation!! <<less

This story had such exciting points where I couldn't stop reading. Overall it's such a good heartwarming read with a lot of dramatic arcs.

The only thing I disliked was how abruptly the extra arc ended. I wanted to see how the kids are when they're older. But it just ends with the ML's boss saying good job.

So far it's very interesting. Happy that the translator has been updating more often, cause always left in suspense on what happens next. Like the interaction of the kids and fl. No opinión yet on the ml. Waiting to see more, before making an opinion.

3.5 but rounded up.

This story feels overly long with a lot of paragraphs elaborating on things that did not need the extra explanation. The author also doesn't seem to understand how money worked in that kind of era.

The MC is Lin Lan, a woman who transmigrated into the body of a country girl who accidentally killer herself. She ends up with an instant family and starts out trying her best while admitting to herself that she doesn't like children. However she adapts incredibly fast and begins planning how to earn... more>> money. She doesn't follow the usual route of being good to cook or engaging in black market selling. Instead becoming someone who puts on promotions to teach the local farmers about hygiene, proper behaviour and the like.

The ML is her instant husband. A soldier at first but he quickly shifts jobs while becoming determined to provide a good life for his wife and children. Something he doubles down on once he realizes how his mother has actually been treating them.

Spoiler

His mother, Old Lady Han has been starving the grandkids, fighting with the original host; all while spoiling her two youngest children. In fact, she has the two convinced that the ML loves them more than he loves his wife and that he has been doting on them.

These two are so spoiled that Old Lady Han has gone through 7500 yuan over the ten years the ML was in the military (an astronomical amount for this kind of setting).

[collapse]

So about the money thing. The MC's family goes through it faster than oxygen. She is sending four (eventually five) kids to school but the ML's salary is 70 yuan a month (not counting tickets) so this shouldn't be a problem. The MC also ends up making a lot of work points in her role as a guidance person. However, they still don't eat meat regularly (or bones for that matter) as it's too expensive. In fact, after the initial large purchase of their home (and housewares), the family is written like they have little money at all. Perhaps she is saving money but it's never stated so it just feels like the author wants the readers to think of them as struggling while already writing them as successful.

That success also makes the story drag. It's really hard to keep cheering for the MC when she's already won.

Spoiler

Her husband dotes on her and is heavily attracted to her.

They no longer live under Old Lady Han which gives her total control over everything in her household.

She has become attached to her kids. All of them no longer act as they did in the novel she read, one has even the makings of being a musical genius.

Her relationship with her twin has improved and there is no conflict with her maternal family.

She has a decent job that doesn't require her to work in the fields.

[collapse]

Then there are the attempts to bring drama. The MC has fully adapted to being a rural wife but will suddenly question her life there. Kids will behave and then suddenly do something just to bring conflict. The ML will act like he's suspicious of her and then forget by the time they go to sleep.

It quickly turned onto slice of life but without "something" to make it more than bland reading. There are moments that are entertaining but the plot starts to take too long to actually start plotting.

Spoiler

Especially the "is he good now or just pretending" subplot with the brother or the sister's relationship.

It just feels like its setting up something but not focusing enough time to it.

[collapse]

There are also time skips of several months. Which can be good but when it's right after someone acting suspicious, it gets irritating.

Not included in the rating is there are problems with the translation. Especially in the later chapters. Wrong pronouns and names crop up quite frequently and can lead to some confusing passages (such as when the MC's sister-in-law was going on a date but the MC's name was used instead).

Overall, this isn't a story I would recommend unless you want to see a different take on how a modern woman survives in the 70s (although I imagine it will probably have the usual college theme like the rest). <<less

It's repetitive and most characters are annoying, but it's full of cute moments so many might enjoy this, I just won't continue reading because of how a certain arch was concluded, the arch itself was very uninteresting to me but the conclusion made everything worse.

Spoiler

it was very unpleasant to me to read the protagonist convincing a young girl to abort her baby saying "don't think of the baby as a life" what the hell? Left a pretty bad taste on my mouth, don't want to keep reading

A good read if you like transmigration stories in the 70’s. There were some parts that felt dragging but the extra chapters were good that made me read it until the end. Although there was no proper closure about her transmigration. And I wished that there were more snippets of the children’s lives after university.

once you've achieved 70+ chapters, it's quite boring for me

however, really ... more>>
Spoiler

for the frist 3o chapters, it was really pure tortured to read! Why did the FL family did not get any money when it was the salary of her husband? Really, the father and mother of the ML were so hateful, full of ego, wicked, selfish. Furthermore, during those chapter, ML was so blind that he did not do any justice towards his family?????? I'm like??????? If I was your wife I would prefer to divorce right away

[collapse]

fortunately, the family separated and our FL became a head of her own family. Of course, it is thanks to the ML who supports her once he realized that his mother treated his family real bad. And thank god FL became ruthless toward her mother-in-law. <<less
