Lü Yang transmigrated into the Cultivation World and became a disciple of the Demon Sect, the Primordial Saint Sect.

Fortunately, he obtained the mysterious treasure 【Book of a Hundred Lifetimes】, which allowed him to restart a new lifetime after death, letting everything begin anew. He could even bring back treasures, cultivation, lifespan, and might even awaken special talents from his previous life.

However, the number of uses was limited; it did not grant true immortality.

As the Cultivation World was on the verge of chaotic times, Lü Yang had originally decided to lie low in the Demon Sect, cultivating painstakingly through one lifetime after another. He would not leave the mountain unless he achieved immortality. Yet, the Demon Sect was extraordinarily perilous, and talents were everywhere.

In the first lifetime, Lü Yang suffered a forced assault and was directly overexerted to death by his Senior Sister.

In the second lifetime, Lü Yang seized power from below and overexerted his Senior Sister to death, but still could not escape the deadly hands of his Senior Brother.

The third lifetime… The fourth lifetime…

Until after a hundred lifetimes, when he looked back, Lü Yang realized that he had already become a Great Overlord of the Demonic Path, the most beastly existence within the Primordial Saint Sect.

“The Demon Sect is truly full of talents, and they all speak so nicely.”

“I really love it here!”

I honestly thought this was an excellent cultivation story. First, be warned, this is a demonic cultivation story. It is not one of those oh the villain secretly has a good heart stories... it is flat out demonic cultivation. The MC starts out as a (mostly?) normal person and realizes rather quickly what is needed to survive and thrive. Not every character is a genius, but very few are foolish (though that does not mean their values/motivations are "normal"). Those who are foolish rarely survive long or are already part... more>> of someone else's scheme. Side characters have their own schemes for advancement and they often have to stake their lives on their fortune/preparations. The cultivation system is fairly unique once you get into it (even if it uses familiar terms) and major realms feel like a true evolution rather than simply being stronger/faster/whatever else. I will say the main character does not go out of his way to commit evil actions for the sake of it, but after a certain point evil actions are profitable to a demonic cultivator. There is no random harem and there is not really much romance.

I would say this is a 5/5 if a demonic cultivator MC is what you are looking for. <<less

Read up to 312 chapters, and though my mind might now be mush, here's a review.

  • Characters
There are few recurring characters, and most of them aren’t explored deeply. But for this type of novel, that’s not really a problem—it’s more about the main plot and ideas than character depth.

  • Premise
At first glance, it might seem like one of those “life simulator” novels that are becoming popular. But it’s not that at all. Instead of simulations, the protagonist actually lives through each life in full. This adds real weight and immersion to the... more>> experience.

  • Story
If you enjoy morally grey or outright evil main characters, this story delivers. It doesn’t take long to realize that everyone in the sect is either an exploiter or being exploited. Unlike other cultivation novels where enemies just randomly demand the MC’s treasures and attack, here the conflict is more layered. The system of karma, debt, and manipulation runs deep. Nothing is ever free: if a high-ranking cultivator helps you, you’re just raw material; if a peer helps, it’s because they want something in return.

Every powerful figure is playing 4D chess, and just when you think the MC is finally free, it’s revealed that he’s already caught in the web of someone even more powerful. The sense of being constantly outmaneuvered adds real tension.

  • Power System
Although the cultivation realms are similar in name to other xianxia novels, the way they’re handled is very different. In most stories, realms are just labels—bigger numbers. But here, each realm feels meaningful, with massive gaps between them and unique struggles in each one. There’s no cross-realm fighting nonsense that ruins the logic of cultivation hierarchies. Progress actually means something here.

  • Main Character
The MC is a joy to follow. He’s not perfect. He struggles. He fails. His progress feels earned and realistic rather than handed to him on a silver platter. Though he is absolutely evil, there is still some humor in his character. <<less

It has a great story telling. All characters are intelligent no intelligence reduction. I am not a good reviewer so I will explain in simple points. It has same cultivation levels like Qi Cultivation Foundation Establishment but it's completely different like if you have seen in Mirror Legacy. But it has more complex. Even at Foundation Establishment you can play with luck manipulation or Karma things. Why foundation establishment is this strong because it doesn't follow usual cultivation path.

Pros: Great Side Character with their schemes and all.

MC is Neutral but... more>> more leaned towards evil because he is in demonic sect so does all dirty things. This novel isn't like where author said MC is villain or evil and he is playing hero saving beauty no for him more corpse there more better for him.

Cons: Power system is too complex you need to remember too many names. <<less

One of the most unique xianxia stories I have read. The setting is a lot more grim than most cultivation worlds, as the number of people that can achieve higher cultivation levels are limited, resulting in a vicious and cruel cultivation world.

Side characters are very well developed, with many making multiple appearances rather than just being disposable enemies that purely exist to show how OP the MC is like in most other xianxia stories.

Plot flows very smoothly and the rebirth trope is utilised well to not just be the cheat... more>> that makes the MC OP but to help with worldbuilding as well through the different lives of the MC.

As a fresh take on xianxia with good worldbuilding and well developed characters, this is a 10/10 <<less
