Can't change the rating but it gets an extra star ✴️

After skipping some unrelated text I reached the start if fluff and papapapa and showing dog blood all over the internetd.🤭

... more>> Around ch80 begins the best part of the story! Truth is I can get by without the main story BECAUSE the extra is the best part and I don't need the whole thing!😚😚😚

Sorry I read to around 56ch but my patience with the story run out so I dropped it for now.

It is still a good novel and I like the closet fan ML cause he is such a cutie.

If you like reading slow progress stories with more Background and work explanations then this is for you. Maybe I will continue when I finish gathering my patience again... <<less

I found this thru Rebirth of Supermodel since I kindly hooked with that kind of story and I might as well read this novel. And guess what, I also liked this, hehehe! Though the romance was some kind of slow pace but still interesting since the MC is a clever one. I wish that the translations flow in everyday or at least every week. Well it's a wish, and will never be granted. ??? Story wise, one of the best in the yaoi genre focusing in the entertainment circle. Tasteful and believable.

First of all, all the movie plots are enough to be separately turned into novels. Each has its own unique flair. In fact I even cried in one of them - 'Silent'. Liked that one, especially its ending.. The boy wasn't silent because he won't speak but once he did, he will lose his obsession and disappear from the girl's life. ??

As for this whole story plot, there's not much to say... Other reviews have already declared how awesome is this novel. Worth a read! ? ?????

Interesting novel.

I love the character of MC & ML, perfect but not, like the novel of Rebirth of a Supermodel that I read too. The romance is slowly build but not to slow, I think. The Entertainment Circle is described enough. It's great balancing it. I recommended this who like/fan the BL novel is must read.

I absolutely love this novel! I don't even fill the need to add the disclaimer of "based on the first 17 chapters" or "I realize its just the first 17 chapter", because the first 17 chapters were so enjoyable, there is no way the rest of the novel can be bad.

Right after reading, I had to see how often updates arrive and thankfully its 4 a month. Its one of those novels I wish I started reading after it was completely translated, because I don't handle "cliff hangers" very well... more>> in books I get drawn into. Hopefully, it will be completely translated, because its just that good! <<less

This is one of the novels where I can't stand the threat of the cliff and had to jump down to MTL, even at the risk of my grammar.

I do not regret. （￣～￣） I'll just seperate my personal pros and cons below:

Pros:

1- Rong Xu : calm, clear-headed MC is the best. It's my personal preference. I might be biased because of it but I love Rong Xu. He was good at what he's doing and he knew it. There's no need to be smug with anyone or anything. It's just a fact. Period.

2- The reactions : I love the reactions worshiping the MC, whether they are from the fans or the critics, I love them as long as they are placing the MC on altar. Again, I'm biased because it's personal preference.

3- Details : Wow this author. I think he knows everything he need to knows before he write them. Thumbs up for all the researches he'd done. Not only he knows what happens during filming, he also knows what happens in a fandom. I personally am in a fandom myself, though I never contribute financially. Everything the author described in the novel, from the fans raising funds in MC's name to fans preparing to support him in his filming set, I can actually imagine it happening in real life.

4- Development : we all know MC wants to become the superstar in the new world, but he did not receive the Best Actor Award the first time he was nominated. I like this little shortcoming because life can't be smooth sailing. And MC started as third rated actor in low budget drama before he rose in popularity and acted in even better dramas and movies later. Then MC acted as the male lead in this very good, very popular movie before he got that award.

5- Relationship : I'd say it's the best thing in this novel. It's practically a lie to everyone else but they did what they need to do. MC and ML were connected by their mothers' friendship, they became roommates, friends, and then lovers. Here's the catch; Huaxia is not that accepting. So what they did was pretending to be really really close friends (even acted in homos*xual movie and attended red carpet together) and pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. Until MC proposed in a freaking concert filled with fans. Talk about extravagant.

1- Qin Cheng : the most typical ice berg ML, common even in het novels, not to say danmeis. I don't dislike it, but I don't like it either. It's just the ML we can see everywhere. The only think I find (a tiny bit) unique is his secret fan boy side, but it's not all that unique either. I personally think he still can has that secret fan boy side even without being an ice berg. (But it's okay because it's just personal preference. Others might like it.)

2- Love at first sight : annoying af. But meh, whatever.

I'm prepared to write a few cons but surprisingly those are the only things I had in mind. I guess the novel is just that good. ੧（￣～￣) ೨ I totally recommend this novel. TBH I can't find any shortcoming in this novel, unless you dislike danmei. Then that can't be help.

The whole story is amazing and there are lot amazing plot scenes that are even better imagined. I have only 1 regret i.e. It is bl. I know it is biased but I can't help; just remove this bl setting and let it be normal.

I felt lost lol... This novel is good for my perspective of a showbiz novel. I read the rest MTL some things are confusing but it's still good for me especially there's s*x scenes.. not one but three lol 😂 I was surprised when I read it, it's rare to read a smex scene. But it still feel good up until the extras this is why I felt lost, because I won't get continuation of KerryxLinXuan tandem!! I mean why?! Although their story is full of glass shards I still... more>> want to see their happy ending. This is the second showbiz novel I have read that I wish the second lead would have more chapters. This feels rush in the end.. I wish the author could have extended some chapters more... I want to see Kerry and Lin Xuan getting along and how they would live. The main couple are okay but Kerry and Lin Xuan's story got me hooked more than the main couple but if their story was not shown maybe I would feel okay and wouldn't mind the flaws of the main story.. in terms of s*x scenes this novel has high points but when it comes to story Rebirth of supermodel is good and. much better. I really wish there's a separate story between Kerry and Lin Xuan🤧 so I would just rate this as 4

But one more thing that gives me off is how MC treats ML sometimes, I know that they both had a life and ML does not really had a good temper but the way he hides the thing about that chat group and leave ML like an out cast sometimes doesn't look good to me. The best story in a movie that I only like is the one they acted in a sci-fi movie playing a robot that story was good. But I have read another showbiz story which is far more good at describing these movies in the story so for me it's a bit lacking.I also like that story Lost City the MC played it's a bit scary with the twist. But I will never forget the directorxsinger tandem it's not enough.. Kerry hadn't pursued Lin Xuan enough and hadn't suffered enough I want to see them together

Strictly speaking, this novel is good but the average kind of good. The MC is a great actor from the start and encounters few barriers on his road to success. ML falls in love at first sight and their relationship has few conflicts. Every time a cannon fodder causes trouble they are taken care of quickly. However, it's written well and I'm enjoying it.

MC has realistic, normal intelligence. He doesn't lie to himself about his feelings for ML, realizes ML's tsundere tendencies on his own, and takes the initiative in... more>> their relationship. ML is the stoic "only warm to MC" type but also his online persona is a fangirl who uses cutesy language and refers to itself as Baby. Their characterizations are examples of how, while similar to most BL entertainment novels, the normal tropes associated with BL are implemented well. Also the shows and movies the MC acts in aren't terribly boring.

If you like acting/entertainment circle novels you'll probably like this. 4/5 because while not exemplary I'm enjoying myself a lot. <<less

Pretty Decent and Pretty Good novel. Okay, I kinda forgot some part in the first 65 chapters because I took a break around chapter 65 before continuing after long months later.

But I like the characters. ML with stoic face but passionate mind and feelings. MC with good attitude and all.

And the romance, which slow but not too slow but truly makes me eager for them to get together. Thank God they do get together after half of the story.

And now just waiting for another secret to be revealed aka how... more>> Passionate ML is with his hidden side account to fanboying and all. 😆 I pray the novel translation would continue 🙏 <<less

OH MY GOD this is the second MO CHUN HUAN book I've read and both books are fantastic! This book however gives you an in-depth depiction on what really happens in the entertainment circle which is kind of interesting. Although the CP dynamics is the usual cold gong + calm shou, their fluffiness still gives me the butterflies!!

Oh and do not skip the extras! The side couple’s story is a bit of a tear jerker but worth it. I wish there was a bit of an after story to them... more>> also. <<less

I'll rate this novel 4 stars

Pros:

- The author's writing is good, along with good character development and set-up.

... more>> - The story is quite entertaining to read with many face-slapping events

- The details and common occurrences in the entertainment industry are elaborated quite well. The author must have done some research at least.

- The MC is an adaptable person to change. He accepts his current circumstances quickly and moves on.

Cons:

- The author must be overly patriotic. It's understandable since he's a Chinese, but his patriotism sometimes leads to racism.

- The ML falls in love with the MC to quickly. The ML's love later seems like obssession over the MC, it's kind of cringey. <<less

I'm too lazy to write a full review so I'll just say few stuffs.

It's good, even tho not an impressive plot but still entertaining and well written (even tho the mtl is meh). My complain is just that the author doesn't need to detail each film every time even tho everystory is interesting.

The ML is really s*upidly cute towards MC lmao. Has facial paralysis but deep inside is like a young maiden, tho he has a poisonous tounge towards others.

My favorite are definitely the netizens hahahahaha and Aunt Qin that... more>> I hope she got more scenes

I read this novel a long time ago. Then I haven't finished it because it's still incomplete. Now, while I search again of a novel to read, I remember this and read it back again.

From beginning to end, this novel is a sweet sailing of romance.

The problem of this novel was it was to smooth, tooo... smooth that there are alot of brainless cannon folders that boost the MC more.

The main appeal of this for me is honestly the moive scenarios. Up until this point, I've loved how the author described the roles MC has taken, the work that went into them, and especially how the audience reacted in the end. The five stars are honestly for them alone.

    • The MC: I do like him. His personality isn't the most exciting, but I tend to like calm MCs in general, so he's basically in my cup of tea. Even if he wasn't, I still think he adds to the appeal of his roles a lot, he doesn't overshadow them I gues I can say (?), so I feel like I can get more enjoyment from the movie plots in general. I've seen some reviews calling him kind of a Gary Stu and he is indeed OP but the excuse of his past life works... most of the time. If you expect to watch him work very hard and suffer during his career, you're probably in the wrong place, though.
    • The ML: he is who I'm most hesitant to like actually. Why you might ask? His personality is actually okay. And his interactions with MC are honestly cute. I just fear he will be written into one of those MLs who basically brute force their way into interactions with MC. By that I mean, I just don't want him to force himself into every future movie MC has just so they can act in films together, or change the scripts so he can continuously have scenes with MC. I haven't read this author's other works, their summaries didn't really interest me, so I don't know if they'll go down that path or not, but I hope not. I want MC to shine on his own first. Also, in my opinion, the ML is more of a Gary Stu in this world than MC could ever be.

      The MC at least has the excuse of a past life for acting. He likes it enough as a career that he chose to pursue it again meaning that he has some actual passion for it. But ML is... The story basically tells us that he has only filmed in 20 something movies up until now, and he, by choice, had been acting in only one movie a year for some time. It also tells us that he won this and that award with his very first film because he was that good. Yet, it feels like he only has so much intetest in the career itself and the only reason he wanted to film beyond his self set quota is because MC appeared. I guess, I'm getting kind of tired of MLs that don't seem to have a life outside of MC. You only either see him filming or with MC. What else does he do besides that? What did he do in all his free time when he actually only did one film a year??

    • Now let's talk about "that" side of ML.

      The alter ego? The Orange Stuffing? He ctreated a fan account for MC that has the personality of young teenage girl with a crush. The gap moe is there. There are a lot of funny moments too. But after a while it starts feeling a bit overplayed and cringy. I prefer their live interactions a lot more than whatever this one counts as.

Ahh This novel is soooo damn awesome. As expected from the author. They never disappoint.

In the beginning you may not feel too much but later you just bear to break the flow of your reading.

... more>> ML falls in love with MC at first sight and his posts on his private social media account is tooo cute. MC is really simple and is very polite with other except when he is with his man, when he can really throw tantrums, can be stubborn.

There are certain things I love the most. The stories of movies in the novel are really great specially last movie where MC plays the role of robot. The other thing is the way MC proposes ML in his concert is really moving.

And the s*x scenes..... what can I say. The second scene where MC play as marshall is.... how can say... it really satisfies my appetite.

On many occasions I really cried though.

I'm definitely going to read it second time or may be third time <<less

I love this! I love every single bit of this! I've read so many novels, and this is one of the few where I wasn't bored at all. The romance, the acting, the audience's reaction.. It's all so exhilirating and entertaining! Love it <3
