You love action? Then come! This story have a good story, well, with a little bit of mainstream thing, but I guess it's still fine right? Good is good after all! The others side point' of view is good too, for example our butler! The plot well, not really maybe? Its just battle after all, but who cares? The world building is not really wow but atleast its still written, especially with this little bit of chapter, we can't expect all of it is already exist right? Do it slow... more>> is more good after all.

Overall, I personally enjoy it, so if you have same taste with me, an action story with a pretty waifu, come! <<less

It's a fun story about a viscount's daughter who has the skills of a sword master trying to rise in a fantasy world with magic / nobles / etc.

She's disadvantaged with her starting situation, looked down on as a woman and as someone who doesn't follow the same power system, but she pushes through directly with confidence rather than yielding.

The setting is rather "anime-esque", in that a serious war is left up to a bunch of kids like an academy setting. It's like there are no adults around and it's... more>> kids drama that is going to decide the fate of a nation.

It's been entertaining, but in a shounen-turn-off-your-brain way. <<less

Tl:dr it's one of few progression fantasy gender-benders (I would say the only one, but there are many that I haven't read, or even ones that just aren't translated) that 1) isn't blatantly sexist as hell or exists to serve someone's weird fantasies 2) focuses on progression fantasy instead of hehe girl MC.

Surprised me. Most gender-bender focuses most on the fact that the protagonist is a girl. They always make it about girl power! Go girl, you got this! Or about how weak girls are, and how all girls eat... more>> very little and love sweets and coo about their adorable appearance, coupled with blatant pe*ophilia and/or good old sexism. Very not cool.

Additionally, women being weaker because they are women is almost something exclusive to gender-bender. Yeah, for ordinary armies, they are comprised of almost if not entirely men, because yeah, there's a vast physical disparity. But in the magic world, it all equals out. That is, in every story but gender-bender.

This has none of that weird shit. That he's a girl may as well just simply not be, it wouldn't change the plot at all if they did takesies backsies and made him a dude. There's some cooing over her appearance, but when a male protagonist looks good, that's brought up a lot too. People just like saying their protagonist is really good looking 👍.

She is weak, because she just started training, not because she is a girl. She's accumulated mana for a few days, and trained her body for the same few days. There's only so much progress that can be achieved in the time she has had, so she's not that strong in the grand scheme of things.

This is a progression fantasy with a female protagonist, not a female protagonist in a progression fantasy, if that makes sense, though I would like to add, a gender-bender female protagonist. Progression fantasy comes first and foremost, at least as of what I have read thus far. Which is nice. Definitely not 5-star material in terms of story telling, closer to 3, it's kind of generic, in terms of being a progression fantasy. In terms of being gender-bender, it definitely stands out, for me at least. <<less

The beginning of this novel is something that I can recommend. Details the her waking up in her new body, her reasons for doing what she's doing and the eventual consequences, it's overall a very nice read.

Well... at least it was for me up until 63. I totally understand her pushing herself, she's the previous sword emperor and you don't achieve that through half hearted effort. However, I draw the line at deliberately crippling yourself. The healer says, 'you've ab*sed your body enough and ignored my advise, your arm is... more>> going to be crippled for the rest of your life if you don't rest now', how does this idiot answer? 'I can use my left arm'.

I know the author probably meant that as a joke, but it pushed me from 'yea, that's the kind of dedication you need' to 'how s*upid is this danged fool?'.

There were previous fight scenes where she's on the verge of death, but she still stubbornly refused to make the contract needed to save herself, those scenes also made me wonder about her lack of self preservation.

I like an OP chara, I also like a hard working chara, what I do not like is a suicidal chara. Currently... I judge the MC as suicidal. <<less

Highly recommend this if you're a fan of gender bender though this part doesn't really matter, also the pacing is also great, the MC is not overly over powered, the MC relies on his experience, MC isn't overpowered.

Recommend reading the first few chapters first before giving it up.
