Decent novel about the title, girl takes over the body of a girl in the 70's with a supermarket system with wares from her future. I enjoy the idea of progress with her studying and making money, but it ended so quickly that it didn't really feel satisfactory. It's like it just time skips 90% of the last arc of the story and I'd like to see a lot more after the ending as well.

The drama was also a bit wonky at times, especially when people do stuff that should've... more>> gotten them very much arrested but it's just treated awfully casually. Sure karma saves the day in the end but I prefer human intervention rather than nature. I really enjoyed the idea of forgiving people for minor mistakes and them actually learning a lesson rather than having it escalate endlessly though.

The translation by Moonlight Novels is like a 2.5/5. Genders are being mistaken and some of it is nearly unedited MTL. Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the fact that the last 4 chapters are under lock and cost about 6$ USD. I'm fine with supporting translators by donating to well done translations, but being forced with such quality is a bit much in my opinion. <<less

3.5 but rounded up because I liked most of it. The problem is the ending where the last few chapters speed through events faster than Usain Bolt's record time.

The MC is Yu Tong, a woman who transmigrated but also has a unique space that is like a supermarket (apparently, her parents in her first life bought it for her which is kind of nuts honestly but the story has got to story). She immediately sets about making her life better for her and her mother. She's the typical heroine in... more>> these kinds of stories where she is nice to those who are nice to her but not willing to accept being treated terribly.

The ML is Xie Wencheng, a young man who is already the director of the Goods and Commerce store in the local county. This is kind of strange given that he is only supposed to be "hiding" in the county for a few months but has a pretty influential job (which he leaves in order to pursue the MC). Initially, he treats the MC with the same kindness one would reserve for the sibling of a friend but he eventually falls for her.

This story is very much a slice of life. All of the problematic incidents are easily solved and the MC succeeds at whatever she puts her mind to. There really isn't much in the way of faceslapping as the enemies always seem to shoot themselves in the foot. Then there are some plot points that don't really seem to go anywhere. Such as her roommates being suspicious about one girl's actions around the ML.

After the initial misunderstandings between the ML and MC, they don't really have any problems in their relationship. That is the point where the story starts to pick up speed. While still a little "slow burn" (they've only held hands and kissed by the end of the novel), it rapidly speeds through her final year at college with all the wacky subplots being dealt with before it ends with them planning their marriage.

Spoiler

One said wacky subplot is the one about them finding the MC's father. Apparently, it just so happens that the shrewish neighbour in the county was responsible for getting the MC's older brother killed and then for getting the MC's father sent to the farm. But hey, she got karma in the end because her husband and son had left her and she eventually dies (although it skimmed over her death pretty quickly).

It was a really weird thing to wrap up at the end.

[collapse]

There was also the weird strange things that made it seem like they were supposed to mean something important but nothing ever happens with them. They just kind of get forgotten.

Spoiler

Such as the MC feeling like she had known another person for all her life. It's mentioned in passing and has zero impact on the story.

[collapse]

Overall, this is very much a slice of life. There is one person who tries to marry the ML but fails, and one guy who is deadset on the MC but also fails. There just isn't much beyond her developing her life. She's pretty rich by the end of it.

Only a recommended if you want an uncomplicated read. <<less

For a novel with transmigration plot this novel didn't focus about revenge. That is what I like from this novel. The heroine is not a vicious character and there isn't any vicious villain, only some annoying characters.

It is more focus on heroine's journey from a village girl to a city dweller. Although the male lead already appear early but it lack romance. But since it isn't a 200+ chapters novel I didn't think it is a wasted time

It’s a 3.5

It’s entertaining but lacking in terms of plot development. The romance between the leads doesn’t scream love chemistry more like friendship. Romance isn’t a big focus. It’s a slice of life style novel but with a very quick pacing. In the end, it’s not a very deep novel so read it with an open mind.

My reason for giving this novel is 4 because there was basically no plot development. I was basically screaming when the relationship was established between the MCs. I was wishing for them to not end up together.

The reason I still have it a 4 is because the translation was good. I cannot read bad translation, and hence I would like to sincerely thank Cupcake who translated this novel.

It is slice of life of a transmigrator in the 70s. A 21 year old girl possessed the body of a 15 year old, beautiful but unfortunate girl. The original body owner and her mother were hardworking, timid, extremely obedient, and easy to bully. They were taken advantage of by their family bc her father and older brother both disappeared. All the pts earned must be shared, while the eldest aunt/sister in law and her daughter get to flake around doing nothing but belittle and trick her and MC mother... more>> into giving up essentially everything. After possession, we learn that the MC has a strong spirit and an intellectual. She will repay every kindness.

Development of romance, if any, is very slow, but sweet. Both the ML and the MC are a bit slow about feelings, but I think the attraction is there. I personally think they have decent chemistry and the development is more true to real life than most of the stories in this class. This is a good thing, bc the MC is really just mid teens when they met :). ML is a green flag man who supports MC's endeavors... he is also a wife s*ave to some extent.
Spoiler

their confession happened when MC went to uni in Shanghai and I think MC was 19.

2nd ML is also very good.

The fantasy element is of course the hidden supermarket space. It acts like an actual market where MC has to spend money to keep shelves stocked and also sell her stock in order to make money/room for more. Supermarket money can't be used outside because it's not the same currency of the time. I think this is a cute concept.

The writing style/storytelling has structure and good flow. The translator needs an editor perhaps, but it's still good. <<less
