Not really a style I would expect from a chinese novel. No face slapping, random r*pe scenes or mandatory nationalism. Instead, it perfectly represents the atmosphere of the anime it is based on (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun). There's no better way to describe this, it just feels like a real part of this world.

It's a great novel overall, but you really have to like the genre. It's a slice of life, focused on cute girls interacting with each other, and doesn't have much of negativity at all. So, if you liked the anime, you will adore this novel. If you haven't watched it, then do it first. Either you won't like it, which will probably mean you wouldn't enjoy the novel either, or you will like it and have more fun thanks to knowing basic settings of the world. <<less
