First of all, this is not a novel for everyone. However, it is by far the most enjoyable Slice-of-Life (SoL) isekai I have ever read, and believe me, I’ve read a lot of novels by now. What sets this novel apart from other SoL isekais is its strong focus on the SoL aspect. Most other novels throw in occasional battles to spice up the story, as if SoL novels are inherently boring. But in this case, those moments would feel completely out of place in a slow-paced story.

If I had... more>> to compare it to something, I’d compare it to the anime Non Non Biyori. It’s a show that centers on daily life in the countryside and is heavily SoL-focused. The show is also incredibly funny.

The main aspect I really love about this story is the relationships between the family members. As you read, you can see how they influence one another and how similar they are as a family. Later in the story, it’s revealed that the MC inherited his laziness from his mother, which is so heartwarming. To those who say the MC’s sister is too cruel, well, you don’t know what it’s like to have siblings. They still have their moments of helping each other, though.

Overall, I highly recommend this novel to fans of the Slice-of-Life genre with a touch of fantasy. Don’t expect any heart-pounding arcs, though. Honestly, this novel is so underrated. <<less

Weirdly enough, this has probably become one of my favorite novels. It's just the right amount of slice of life, with a good amount of messing around, and using otherworldly knowledge.

This novel has probably one of the best depictions of a sibling relationship I've read on this site. Other commentors are screaming "ab*se", but literally this is how all big sisters are. It's like their birthright to torment their younger brothers. Then you add on the fact that it's the medieval times, so she has nothing better to do AND... more>> the fact that she's OP. With a bit of anime exaggeration and you have this fun brother sister combo. <<less

I love this novel, it is not an epic adventure or heroes. They are simply the adventures of a normal person, in a magical world applying technology or knowledge of the earth. The most entertaining thing is to see how the author creates the environment for the protagonist's ideas or adventures to develop.

Honestly, world-building is really good. What I hate about this novel is author keeps writing about everyone became Japanese food obsession, explaining the taste, etc. Seriously you are making a sword and magic world novel, not a food war p*rn novel, stop overpraising Japanese culture that exists in the real world? The author doesn't even twist the culture and just copy-paste real-life Japanese culture.

If you make a fantasy world stop putting your food fetish in every chapter, it ruins the novel. It makes me sad reading this, waiting for more... more>> than a week just to read Japanese food or culture description

This novel strong point of this novel is how the author introduces The heroine candidate in this novel.

Ex* third princess. She is disabled and can't walk and has already given up on can playing and having fun like normal child, but one day MC gonna befriend her, and with his Space Element magic he can fulfill the princess's wish of going everywhere, and traveling the world freely. Seriously this is so romantic and I can't wait for this development. But... what a waste author doesn't go with the main story and instead waste 1/3 of total writing, and keep overpraising Japanese culture and food.

And I just realize it after reading the 180++ chapter. At first, I thought MC is a smart but easy going character, but MC was just a real dumb and lazy person. His only strong point is overpowered magic, and a humble personality that makes him have a large connection. Without stealing earth invention, he is just a dumb strong magician @@ <<less

Based on the tags for this novel I think it's a fun story. I'm looking forward to how the characters develop and what craziness our MC will encounter going forward. I love how he's kept true to his character and not some typical sugar coated good guy... he's an adult male that transmigrated into a baby male and looks at the world with normal eyes; everyone has desires to be lazy, moments of high motivation, pe*verted random thoughts, other random thoughts, frustrations and triumphs. Overall I think he has a... more>> well rounded personality. That being said... some of the other characters within the main cast... er... Well... they are interesting and this isn't a realistic story... but I'm sorry I have to say I HATE the sister and those unreasonable characters who only ever see faults in particular characters and situations... meanwhile I just want to slap some sense into them like 'guuuurl! You yourself are an awful person and he hasn't actually done anything wrong in this instance!' Our poor MC is basically ab*sed throughout his childhood by his sister, the maids are basically thieves, and the mother and father hold some noble (and typical) standards for their boys, but never correct the daughter or maids. I have to question this part of the overall plot - don't the tags say 'doting' and 'overprotective' parents and siblings?? Maybe in later chapters those characters will grow? I hope they do because I've been finding myself wishing the sister will IDK turn into a demon lord so she can slain -- goodbye b----!!! Otherwise, this is an interesting story thus far with some great potential and decent slow pacing for fantasy world development. For those that don't like food stories, this is one of those stories that focuses on food on and off a lot. <<less

Fun and Relaxing to read, some other say it's boring well, we have different kinds of taste, y'all never know if you try it, and if it's suite your taste then good, if not, go find another novels. I also read the latest chapter in MTL of this because of the slow translation update in all sites, for me it's addictive, if you really understand the flow of the story, the 3 or 4 mouths is worth it even though it's only MTL.

It's as good story plot as other iseikai story except the female character in this story. What really annoying me the most is MC's older sister, what an terrible person is she. It's really annoying how she treat MC and how other family member ignore it, not to mention maid and his sister's friends. I bear with this in order to continue reading then when he go to capital city and met another female characters. They all are annoying in their own way and it seems like writer try to... more>> make all female character in this story especially the one close to MC to be the same as his sister. I can endure it anymore so I quite reading while MC still in the capital city. <<less

a slow life novel about a reincarnated MC living a carefree and boring life, having power like some typical op MC but always running away from problems or surrendering to ab*se. It's kind of boring to read about a child supposedly having a 27-year-old mind acting like that (in contrast to Mr. Bean, an adult body with a childish mind lol, though the latter is a visual comedy). Other characters do not have much presence and there isn't much of a comedy tbh.

While I do like slice of life stories I really can't stand the MC he is in one a word a wimp. No opinion, no words. Anyone can do anything to him.

The little sister is so annoying I want to smack her, and I find most characters annoying for some reason the females in this novel are portrayed so so unrealistically that even in a fantasy world I find it too exagarated. Are all men in this fantasy world simps and pi**ies???

Nice and simple, isn’t overly complicated. A fun slice of life isekai

but this is only at chapter 52 so I don’t know if it changes pace later on

don't read if you’re hoping for a fantasy novel where the MC becomes the strongest ever and explores the world

the novel isn't bad, was better in beginning, but get's worse over time. A regular isekai with reincarnator making stuff from japan and everyone raving over it saying its amazing. The problem I mainly had with the novel is the treatment of the MC. In the storyworld we know of so far is pretty much being controlled by the women, which I have no problem with can see that in modern life with many families, however because of this the MC gets pushed around so much and eventually I feel... more>> like its just bullying. This is suppose to be a lighthearted comedy novel and I understand it is suppose to be a gag/joke about men being whipped by the females and however it is overused and makes it feel like the author has a fetish for f*mdom, woman dominating men.

In the beginning the gag was fine especially because it wasn't used as much there it was subtly mentioned and used once in a while but getting in to it a little further it just became the main joke and out of nowhere everyone keeps focusing on the MC, randomly they start to manhandle a little kid. Furthermore in the beginning the MC is trying to live a peaceful life but he is actively acting against his own wishes and does not even try to avoid the obstacles (people) stopping him from relaxing. <<less

Surprisingly entertaining.

Grammar: 3.5/5

Story: 2.5/5

... more>> Writing: 3.5/5

The grammar is above average, with a few instances of awkward wording/phrasing. The story is fairly standard, cut-and-dry, it's your usual reincarnation with the person using his previous knowledge to gain advantages towards daily life and possible future exploitation for financial stability. The writing is nice and consistent with humor thrown in thanks to a slightly unusual family. Over all, though this series is nothing ground breaking, it is a nice read to pass some time.

I'll be reading this when I run out of other materials to read, or when I'm feeling the need to take it slow and enjoy a small smile or two. <<less

Overly descriptive title, getting hit by truck, reincarnated as a noble son. 4/5, it's okay.

While I do have to praise the structure of the story, especially it's length, the way it's executed and even the plot idea, those are unfortunately dwarfed by the lackluster and warped character elements inside of the book.

This is supposed to be laid back "slow life" style of story, and I guess in some parts it is. But what mostly stands out in this story are how weird the other main cast characters are. Everyone other than main character is basically just a violent leech without any thoughts of... more>> their own. MC must obey them, produce stuff for them, and be a doormat for them.

I get that it's done in guise of comedy, but how is it normal for a chef of a noble family to almost strangle the 3-year-old young master of the family? Or the father to beat his 6-year-old son unconscious because the child jokingly referenced to his past deeds? These are NOT normal, and it's all very weird. Even as comedy it was not funny or enjoyable. I can kind of deal with the whole 'tsundere' type older sister, of whose punching bag the MC is, especially since she's a child too and there's still some room for development in form of enlightenment but everyone? Literally everyone? Seriously?

It just reads like this author tried very hard to imagine what would be like to have a 'happy' family that often quarrels (not seriously) and somehow warped it into becoming this kind of masochist situation, that's constantly bordering seriousness and is without any satisfaction elements. It all just feels really f*cking weird.

Tentatively I'm giving it a three stars, because everything other than the character setting seems rather enjoyable. In my scaling that means "Worthy of reading", I'll just have to hope this unnecessarily stressful "comedic" element of being everyone's punching bag will eventually get removed. I mean for f*cks sake, it's supposed to be a happy/healing slow life story, right? <<less

I mean typical of these kind of slow fluffy food isekai. It's good for like the first 50-100 episode, after that it's kind of boring with how much food chapter there are. Any sign of interesting characters or story immediately dissapeared.

There is one princess that only have 1 chapter worth of apperances, but she have more interesting background than any other characters. She has disability so she needs a wheelchair, and because of that she is really good in magic due to her having nothing to do other than magic... more>> stuff. And the MC is really good at magic because he is the MC with cheats, etc etc. Interaction between the two is going to be way more exciting than here is more japanese food or iseaki country that have japanese culture. <<less

Really dislike how isekai authors have to always write about their boner for Japanese cuisine and no matter what rice and soy sauce are always glamorized. Also what's the point of making it an isekai if he just wants to turn his living space into japan 2.0 and the way the advancement of tech seems so staggered is weird.
Spoiler

Honestly I think the Japan 2.0 continent part of the story should be skipped, not the journey to but when the stay. It's just the author mostly talking up japan imo and it gets annoying with how many cliches and tropes there are

[collapse]
really wish that was toned down but otherwise it's a nice slice of life with nothing really happening so far except some build up for futute events.
