That’s Not How You Use Martial Arts

I was reincarnated into the coveted world of martial arts.

But this world, something’s strange.

“Lightness skill? What nonsense are you talking about?”

“Sword Qi? Sword force? Puhahaha! To think there’s someone who actually believes in such nonsense!”

It was full of idiots who spouted that lightness skills, sword qi, and sword force were all nonsense.

It can’t be helped. I’ll show you.

What real martial arts are.

The world in this novel is murim with out sword Qi and techniques, everyone just brute force things with qi and that explains the title. I like the way the MC handle things and how ruthless he can be out of nowhere, It sound fun seeing him be the founder of sword qi and sword skills.

I havent read the raws like the other comment but im betting on it being just mtl poison so far the novel has been great, at most is just one arc being political drama.

Starts out hella strong, like those first 7 or so chapters is such a good build up. the following chapters are setting the stage for an interesting take/parody of wuxia. then things get a bit weird? I still like it. I'm going to keep reading. its clearly around a 4 out of 5 for many reasons. I'm just worried that its going to end up as "just" a different style of op MC fused with mr magoo.

the idea that the entire world has either not used WUXIA martial arts cause... more>> they think its fairy tales, isnt too bad... but when you bring in that they have WUXIA cultivation and techniques and elixirs and all the normal WUXIA martial family politics? it ends up coming off as a parody instead of a new adventure in the lush world of ancient chinese mythological martial arts

*updating my review around ch42. the plot quality is dropping like a rock. I doubt I make it past ch50 at this point. there is zero reason to keep reading. MC kinda still works, everything else is pathetic knockoff fanfiction writing <<less

I read the raws until 49, it started out amazing and slowly turn into wuxia political bullshit.

Since the goal of the MC's love interest and crew are to unify the murim alliance and expose the bad guys, they have to try and convince a bunch of political figures to side with them. So me expecting a martial arts novel was punch in the face after the opening arc, every f*cking thing afterwards was filled with ret*rded children politics that goes nowhere and is overly drawn out.

You have to read about... more>> a bunch of ret*rded useless side characters and read as the MC and his allies tries to both convince them and save them from their own idiocy.

They should add "That's not how you do politics" to the novel's name, cause this sh*t is so ass. <<less

This is not some wuxia political bs. This is the story of a chaotic neutral MC who will do anything to live out his fantasy of being sent to a martial arts world.

He unironically wants to increase the amount of chaos in the world, he wants to increase lethality of martial arts. He can and does win every fight (the few times it happens) but treats every event as a plot point form a novel, wanting to play it out to its full ‘entertainment potential’. So, despite him having the... more>> strength to simply waltz into the enemy camp to solve the thing, he goes on a random mu*der mystery side quest so he can solve one NPC’s problem so that he can recruit the NPC as an ally in another character’s fight for dominance.

Another character (while referring to the MC) quotes the standard butterfly effect saying that the MC teaching techniques is the flapping of the wings of a butterfly which may result in a storm. Nonsense is what that is. The MC isn’t some butterfly flapping its wings, the MC is the madman throwing nukes into the ocean explicitly to cause a tsunami. And he’s eventually going to succeed.

The good writing, descriptions, decent fights, entertaining and versatile/ game-like plotline make this novel an easy 8 out of 10. But with a really big asterisk that most people will not actually enjoy reading about a true chaotic neutral MC, which could make this a 7 or even a 6 for them.
