“Do you, the Groom, Lucian Odelion, pledge to cherish, love, and be with your ghost bride for the rest of your life??”

A 300-year-old ‘ghost bride’ who unexpectedly entered into an unwanted spirit wedding with an 8-year-old baby, Lucian.

I’m annoyed, but I feel so sorry for the little boy who only eats potatoes every day. So, I secretly cooked him a meal and did his laundry, but to my surprise, this kid…

“Ghost! It’s a ghost!”

[… Can you see me?]

“Please take care of me in the future.”

[Let’s get along well, little groom].

While I was ignoring him, Lucian gave me, the ghost bride, the name ‘Leah’. But Lucian, who was thought to be a simple orphan, turns out to be a Prince?

“One day, I will really make Leah my bride. Please wait until then.”

But the breakup came suddenly, and after a long wait, the little groom returned.

“I said it clearly. Someday, I will make you my official bride.”

And they too became the Emperor of the Empire.

Idk why the rate was so low for this novel. Bcs I like it so much.

Note that I don't mind with a kid falling in love with their "caretaker" plot as long as it is not close blood related one.

Spoiler

and especially for this one, from chapter one they're stated to be bride and groom. And lucian always stated it like that. Though Leah might be just see him as child at first.

The story was well written and well translated.

I love how so far the story not only focus on dark past, revenge, how the MC was suffering greatly etc. There are good amount of fluff moments, frustating, heartbreaking, mystery, characters development, etc.

The characters are pretty well written. And all their relationship dynamics are fun to read.

Spoiler

I love how lucian was written. He is a kid being a kid. Annoying, loud, easy to cry, stubborn. But he is also very sweet and innocent child.

Leah was there but unlike another novel where the FL MC was definitely the main focus, I felt like in this story lucian was the main focus. Though I think it was almost balance whether Leah or lucian was the real MC. Oh and the one thing I love it's not a transmigration. So Leah was as clueless as we are. Lol.. There's the mystery part.

Like how the relationship the three of them related to past. Why Leah is a ghost, and why she can't escape the mansion, and what those annoying bastard do on the basement...

I forgot abt the red hair one, he is a dragon. I like him. He is a definitely how I picture a young red dragon is. An aggressive, proud, spoiled but soft and awkward inside. His relationship with lucian is just precious. I hope nothing bad happens to their relationship.. Just like how the ghost dragon told..

[collapse]

Overall for me it's worth to read. The conflicts is there but it wasn't as heavy as some others novel with royalties involved be (I think so far..). Hope this one get translated till the end chap. Thank you for the translators for picking this up. <<less

An interesting premise. The story is heavier and draggier than I expected.

The 'is it g*ooming or not part' is a little iffy to me since the ML did spend about 5 years away from the FL but also spent most of his formative years with her. Though I will also say going into this story, I knew I wasn't in it for the romance or the main pairing.

Spoiler

Where's the comeuppance for the main villain and the sub-villains? I don't think it's nearly enough to soothe my stuffy heart.

My first comment was: Is this a children's cooking book? Can we move on? Thankfully we moved on. BUT.

I'm not even an anti and normally this wouldn't bother me if the FL was a 300-year-old child ghost or something, however, since ML really acts like a kid and I can't imagine them having romance later. They act like mother&child before the timeskip so it doesn't sit right with me. I couldn't even reach the time skip, but still, it's very icky since FL is close to ML in a motherly... more>> way...

The second biggest problem was the writing style. The way the story moves is so uninteresting to me. Everything they say is very obvious or repeating. Also, I'm not interested in the characters in the slightest. ML is just a whiney child, the FL is a maid robot and the dragon is the most flat creature ever.

There are openly idiotic common sense issues too. They don't disappear within the world's own rules. They are just there, poking your brain. Like how FL doesn't remind ML of the day
Spoiler

she disappears and loses her mind, meanwhile, ML is planning to bring a friend in for the first time to introduce him to the "ghost" but FL (nor the dragon) doesn't warn him.

They decide on a stay over too. BRUH, the FL just lets them EVEN THOUGH IT'S RISKY??

The story kept forcing drama like this all the time so I'm dropping this. It touches my nerves when the authors can't stick to their own rules.

40 chapters was enough for me since the updater kept forgetting to add the next button and the translation was a badly edited MTL at its best. The least you can do is properly edit MTLs when you are asking for donations.

That's it. <<less

It's a somewhat suffocating novel - I think the Korean term for it is sweet potato? It feels like I'm choking on a sweet potato in some parts of the plot, and I'm desperately hoping for a glass of water to wash it down (aka please just talk it out you guys, communication shouldn't be this hard).

Throughout the story, different characters are just holding different pieces of the puzzle & slowly piecing things together, which is fine, but there's often delays in relaying very important info just because characters think... more>> the others will get hurt. It's like saying, "oh no, let's not give this puzzle piece to him, it's too shabby". I was yelling at the screen when the main antagonist started to move, and there were no characters who had caught on or made any preparations yet. It really felt like they could have figured things out much sooner, but maybe that's just because I guessed most of the conspiracy thanks to the generous number of flashbacks.

Overall, I didn't like the main pairing that much because MC almost spawn camped ML. It's set up as a forced child marriage situation, but at least MC never takes the marriage seriously while raising him, & ML got to finish growing up 5 years (18-23) outside of her influence. It's going to be an uncomfortable read if you can't stand unintentional g*ooming, & tbh I was never rooting for the main couple & just wanted to see the comeuppance of the parents & the antagonist.

The main antagonist of the novel is a 300 year old incel who couldn't take no for an answer, & he was pathetic & creepy from start to finish. I'm glad that at the end, MC denied him any more access to her, not even her emotions of pity & disgust. He was a skidmark of a man that deserved to be forgotten by everyone he hurt. ML's parents, especially the mom, were also sub-antagonists that I hated with a passion. I was so mad, even after they got somewhat better, they really didn't deserve to have him acknowledge them as parents because they've done about fck all as his parents except hurt him over & over & over. They literally neglected him for 8 years & then threw him, an 8 y.o. CHILD into the wild to fend for himself. And then they have the audacity turn around & expect him to be grateful he wasn't killed by them at birth. Grateful for what?? Treating him like a prisoner?? Just for being born?? Their own fcking child. Why the hell couldn't they hire just one nanny. Just one fcking baby sitter instead of sending him to what would have literally been solitary confinement without the fcking ghost bride. I would never forgive them & ML is a saint for not becoming an arsonist because I would have just burned down the palace the moment I realized. The slightly edited mtl translation is readable but sometimes difficult to understand, & I wish there was markers for who was talking sometimes. I would recommend this novel for people who want to kill time with an obvious but still engaging plot twist. <<less
