Chen Nongmo was given a poetic name by her parents.

In reality, though, she seemed destined for a life of endless toil, constantly hustling to make a living.

Her life, however, was tragically brief, coming to an abrupt and hasty end at the age of twenty-eight due to an accident.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in the year 1970.

She had become the 15 year old daughter of Colonel Chen, a stunning beauty with the intelligence of a 3-year-old child.

Initially, Chen Nongmo thought she could enjoy a smooth life, living carefree and worry-free. But life had other plans, and surprises came swiftly and unrelentingly.

Before she could bask in a few days of parental love and affection, her father was labeled with a “hat” (political persecution).

Her mother, unwilling to divorce her father and save herself, also couldn’t bear to take Chen Nongmo along to suffer hardships together.

After much deliberation, her mother packed a bag for her, eyes red with tears, and announced her decision—to send her to the countryside to hide with her father’s ex-wife, the one who had divorced him.

Clutching the money and tickets tightly, Chen Nongmo felt utterly broken.

This… didn’t seem quite right, did it?

“What’s my brother’s name?” Chen Nongmo asked, her face blank and resigned after being forcibly suppressed by her parents.

“Chen Wuwen. The two of your names together spell out *Wuwen Nongmo* (literally, ‘dancing with words and playing with ink’),” her mother explained.

Chen Wuwen: “…”

So… she not only time-traveled but transmigrated into a book?

And as the foolish younger sister of the male lead, who was his lifelong guilt and who died prematurely in an accident?

Chen Nongmo promptly decided to just lie flat and give up.

She closed her eyes, thinking, Maybe if I sleep, I’ll wake up back in my own world.

At first, Chen Wuwen, a lieutenant colonel, was quite disdainful about this half-sister of his, who was over ten years younger than him and born of a different mother.

But over time, as he listened to his mother’s increasingly frequent joy over the phone and received more and more gifts sent by his younger sister, Chen Wuwen gradually let go of his prejudices.

He even began showing off his sister’s kindness to his comrades everywhere he went.

Then…

He overdid the boasting…

Within a few months of following their mother to live near the army base, his sister was snatched away by one of his comrades!

It's an okay read. I give it 4 stars cause I expected more dramas until the end lol, I love the happy ending but I really, I just skimming till the end chapters where the FL get pregnant and etc.

If you want to read something simple, light, to pass time id recommend this book to you. For first chapters I was interested in the plot, the intrigues, n everything that revolves around the FL and ML. But if u expected more drama I guess this isnt the one for u.... more>> Because this story is mostly about how the FL, who's not an OP (according to the author) but somehow have her life goes according to her plan, it went smoothly that it feels too OP.

But yeah, this is a worth reading tho. <<less

Pretty straightforward and standard for this genre. Nothing really happens - any major plot point seems to be easily overcome. After about chapter 40ish, focus is on the romance. I wish there was more character growth for MC. Or at least if situations didn't seem more like summaries. If we got a lot of family fluff that would be one thing. But simultaneously, the best part is the fact that there isn't family drama.

There's a time skip too for MC's high school years. The OGML (MC's brother) getting married is... more>> a sidenote. When they reappear in the story, it's already their married life and the book plot seems useless. We do learn about 1/3 way through the story that MC has the power to change the plot. But the plot is mostly useless? As in it's a bit irrelevant in adding anything interesting to the story.

Overall, it's okay for an easy quick read. If you like slice of life romance, this is fine. No big upheavals or adversaries in this story. But definitely nothing to write home about. <<less

I think the novel from 2022 with the fish cover from this author is better than this novel. But I did drop it because I was getting bored. And that's pretty ironic because this book actually has less detail than their older book which has the fish cover. This character doesn't have a golden finger, but unless I'm missing pages or something.... They skipped over some things that I felt like you didn't need to. Like we didn't see the older brother get married. He was just married all of... more>> a sudden time skip. Unless I am wrong. Which I'm fine with. But that's not really why I dropped it. I dropped it because I started getting bored. I like slice of Life and I like romance, but I have to say if there is a fine line. That's why I appreciate comfortable yet entertaining books so much because to be comfortable but not boring yet to be entertaining yet not overly dramatic and uncomfortable is a fine line. And I have to say it's teetering too boring for this novel for me. Perhaps it gets more interesting later. But I really enjoyed the last novel with the fish cover more because I probably really liked her sisters a lot more. They were more dimensional and the situation was more complex in my opinion. It's not to say that these brothers are not dimensional, but the author just didn't put the spice into it like there could be more personality than protective you know? They all are different but they are only like slightly different flavors. They're not really different enough or interesting enough unlike the previous book. And the main character in this one she's okay. I just think her character aura/voice isn't prominent enough for me to interest me. I think there's just something boring. there's just something missing. But again a solid generally unproblematic, comfortable, but with nationalism of course book. Nationalism is probably this author's favorite thing. But yeah. If you're looking for that you'll probably like this but I really recommend the fish cover more even if she has a golden finger. <<less
