After dying in a car accident, Xia Yan is bound to System 999 and begins transmigrating into various worlds as a cannon fodder s*umbag gong.

According to the plot, he’s supposed to be a flirtatious and promiscuous character who toys with the protagonist shou’s body and mind, serving as a foil to highlight the deep and loyal personality of the protagonist gong, ensuring the protagonists couple achieve their happy ending.

It sounds simple enough, so Xia Yan dives in with full confidence.

However…

Why is he suddenly the one being pinned against the wall and kissed by the protagonist shou? And, as a shou, is this level of physical strength even scientifically possible?

Ex-s*umbag gong Xia Yan, clutching his waist: “…” (staring blankly. jpg.)

World 1: Popular Idol & Blacklisted Minor Celebrity

Popular idol Tu Xi’s relationship is exposed, and his lover turns out to be Xia Yan, a third-rate celebrity known for his promiscuous ways and frequent change of partners. The internet is in an uproar, and fans beg them to break up.

Unexpectedly, Tu Xi remains obstinate and even goes on a relationship variety show with his lover.

Before the show: “s*umbag gong, stay away from my Tu Xi!”

After the show: “I can’t believe I was shipping the wrong CP! Yan Yan is so seductive, who can resist this? Heavy breathing… so beautiful.”

Xia Yan skyrockets to fame thanks to the show, landing numerous endorsements.

According to the plot, Xia Yan should have been rejected by the public and forced out of the industry.

But instead, he says: “…”

World 2: Cold CEO Omega & Gold-digging Beta

After the failure of the last world, the system carefully selects an ABO world for Xia Yan, where he plays a gold-digging Beta.

However—

Xia Yan, shocked: “He’s an Omega, so how is he able to pin me down?!!”

System: “…” Why don’t you ask yourself that, geez.

1. Xia Yan is the shou! (Important!)

2. Main God’s Fragmented Soul Gong x Unaware Beauty Shou.

3. First love for both, 1v1.

4. Over-the-top Mary Sue story, with a heartthrob shou that everyone adores.

I won't rate it because I DNF 😬

The synopsis is there, the tags are there, the warning is very clear... I know it. Ii even enjoy this type of "Mary Sue + Helen of Troy" genre.

But the first arc was just, hm, how do I put it? A little boring and a little frustrating with all the random MLs and passerbys falling in love with MC and he's sooooo dense. I know that he's focused on his mission but boy-- 🤦🏽‍♀️ ugh, whatever.

I know that the ML are fragmented souls... more>> of the Main God, but it is still frustrating amthe back and forth without real progress.

(this is a spoiler btw, anyone with two functional braincells can see what's happening, the synopsis hints are quite obvious 🤷🏽‍♀️)

Anyways, it's a matter of taste. I just didn't like this one. But the translation is good, you see the translator put a lot of effort and they are evolving each chapter! I'm really grateful!

This is not for me, but maybe it'll fit your tastes! <<less

I jist wannt to say this is my personal opinion and to read the end of the description carefully because it delivers exactly what it says plus extra TT (I'm fully aware this story is probably meant to be light-hearted)

I wanted to like this novel I really did (I even went to read the raws), but I hardly made it through the first arc. I just got so frustrated with every character in general I wanted to slam my face into a wall.

When the author "Over-the-top Mary Sue story,... more>> with a heartthrob shou that everyone adores." They mean it. Holy hell. Like I went in knowing this, so the mary sue didn't bother me... but...

Spoiler

literally every somewhat important male character that is not a s*upid villain loves the MC. Like falls in love with him... it's insane.

[collapse]

I get the nature of the mc's mission, hence why I was willing to let go of the back and forth between him and the ml... but after 40 chapters of nothing really happening and their relationship moving at a snails pace and the MC being dense and not understanding

Spoiler

that the reason weird things keep happening is because they all have fallen in love with him

[collapse]

... I started regretting my life choices.

I refuse to rate because I feel like I have to read more arcs to get a proper feel. Plus it's not like the description is hiding this info... I just wasn't expecting it to be this bad TT

I'm pretty sure there is a deeper plot point to why everyone is like this with him due to the extra at the end of arc one, but I can't do it anymore.

I think my issue is that I went in taking it far too seriously and got gobsmacked <<less

I am so heartbroken. I wanted to say 'I stayed up late for this?' But it wont do any justice to what I am feeling right now. All in all the only arc I liked was the first one, when clearly its ending is like being in a rollercoaster ride that was stuck in the highest point upside down or like when youre about to climax but someone knocked on the door. Its frustrating I could cry. It was not executed to the best outcome possible when it clearly has... more>> the potential to be but its fine I tell myself, maybe the closure will happen in the next arc I tell myself, and in the said next arc the ending was yet repeated. I gaslighted myself that definitely, definitely the next arc will fix it and will even be better! I said. I have invested too much time to stop i, said. And so I continued just to get yanked out out of my high horse, got stomped a million times with the said horse with the noise-like-scream scolding, "YOU ARE WRONG!" You were wrong.. it did not get better... unfortunately.... sadly.....a shame. Dont even get me started with the ending *wailing, tr*shing around, banging my head on my blanket, screaming on my pillow* ghaaddddddd.

For the objective review:

The ending of every arcs except for the end end ending was like being ghosted (if you dont know what it feels to ghosted not my fcking problem) in short, it will leave you hanging in a not-so-good way, investing emotion—a not-so-good one— just to know what will happen.

If youre reading just for the interaction of the MC and ml, goodluck youll need it. Not because its cliche or what not—ghadddd I hope that was the case— but because, its barely romance for me. Hating iron for not becoming steel. Its 80/20 for the other scenes and the said desired interaction respectively.

This aint QWTFD!!!!! Yes this is indeed world hopping, but not the feel-good-kind of world hopping, atleast for me. The decisiveness of the endings qwtfd have wasnt practiced here and the interactions of MC and ml... dont get me started again.

For a 1v1 it sure has a lot of people smh.

P.s. I didnt want to write this review that might discourage others to read and just pit them all together in this misery, but I wouldnt want me to have that experience so here it is

PP.s. not that it will prevent you from reading anyways <<less

I'm at the end of the first arc, so I thought that I'd share my thoughts

I found the story quite fun! It's classic, light hearted, and funny - but beware, the ships sail on shallow waters!

That is to say, the characters don't have much depth, haha! Would advise turning your brain off before reading this for peak reading experience lol

Nothing bad to say about this, but nothing great either (not yet) so I'm giving this 4/5 stars

You will laugh. This is not a deep story but a kind of chicken-noodle soup comfort type story. I am loving every moment of this.

Our MC is a transmigrator who enters different worlds as a cannon-fodder gong who initially hurts the ML in order for the ML to end up with the "fated" gong. However, this ultimately never happens because... our ML is the uke of every world but he's the one 'eating' our MC!

He has to complete various side missions in order to hurt the ML and make himself... more>> hated but every world ends up with the characters looking at MC with red-tinted glasses despite how despicable he's trying to be (MC inside is very sweet and wouldn't do the things he does if it wasn't for the sake of the mission).

If you want a good laugh and some saucy-yandere-ish moments, I recommend this whole-heartedly. It's very light, easy to digest, good with a side-dish of kinky. Thank you translator for this delightful read! <<less

The true tragedy is the amount of time I used up to read this. The novel caught by eye with its interesting premise and Mary Sue tropes. Honestly, it seemed like a fun little brain empty read where I could enjoy seeing the MC be doted upon and see a cute romance between the main couple. Perhaps it gets better as I'm only on chapter 43 but these 43 chapters have felt like self harm.

I thought it started of great. The MC wasn't foolish, keeping a track of his tasks while also treating the male lead fine. Not overly close but not overly distant. But the more I read, the more everything fell apart. The male lead's a total masochist with absolute no self respect and he honestly doesn't even have a good reason to like the MC. And then the whole mess with everyone else made it even more of the headache

Curly haired boy, the original gong's younger brother, the actual original gong, literally everyone other than the MC and the manager were giving me high blood pressure. Why did the original gong fall in love with him? He's clearly devoted to his little brother, albeit in a toxic and absolutely brain dead manner, yet one look at him and a whiff of his scent or whatever had him willing to pursue him despite knowing his little brother was in love with him.

And I thought the little brother was a sheltered naive rich kid who had no braincells, why did he end up being a psychopath who wanted to cage the MC? And why did both of them, as in the brothers, want to pursue him at the same time? That's borderline tethering into an in*estous arena that I don't want to see. I truly think the MC gives everyone around him a moral and IQ debuff of up to 150%.

And don't get me started on the curly haired boy. I don't understand his purpose to the story whatsoever. Rather than adding anything, the only thing he did was pissed me off. If the author wished to show how much the MC is adored by people, they could've used literally anyone in the line of canon fodders, like the 18 rich kids that were pursing him. I also don't understand why the MC couldn't have been harsher with him? At times the MC spoke my mind and told him straight to his face that whatever he felt for him was parasocial. But then in the next breath he'd go meet up with him. And the curly haired guy takes any attention he gets from MC as positive. That is not MC's fault but he definitely could've avoided him. Especially considering he wasn't even in the original plot.

Also no matter how much I try to think of it, there's no way the MC and ML will have a proper relationship. It feels incredibly forced on both ends. There's so solid reasoning for the ML's strong devotion towards MC. And I don't see the MC having any emotional development in the future to actually come to love the ML. Obviously, this is the QT therefore it won't be as in depth as other romance novels. But typically QTs have some sort of support to show why the ML and MC love each other. But this novel lacks any sort of foundation. I'd rather have a cliché "you're the same soul in every universe" trope than have absolute no foundation for the relationship. Hell, the author could've been dabbled into their backstory or something. Like they could've made Ti Xu and Xia Yan close as children or something or the sorts. But no, they'd been dating for six months but Ti Xu was ready to throw away his entire life and career for the MC for no reason?? Even after all of his problematic behaviour??

Sure he didn't cheat but pretending to cheat isn't any better. And obviously this isn't blaming the MC as it was literally his task. But from the ML's perspective, it makes no sense?? He even recognized the fact that the MC could be using him but he just chose to accept that? After only knowing him for six months? When he literally has all the recourses and has literal lines of people going after him? He's the beloved actor of the entire country and he decides to just... settle with this? What was even his reason for tolerating all this is beyond me and I feel like even if a reason was mentioned, it wouldn't be justifiable nor sane.

Honestly the original novel characters should've just gotten together because even though the original plot was only mentioned like two times, it still held more substance than this entire arc. Typically, I have a high tolerance for shitty novels. I find them fun, not everything has to be thought provoking. But this... this was just rage inducing. I also hope that manager gets a raise.

[collapse]

Not my cup of tea and wouldn't recommend. There's better QT novels out there. <<less

Started arc 3 and dropped. Very monotonous plot. Nothing really happens. Kind of predictable. I dont know if it get any better butnas things were going I decided it wasn't worth my time. I didn't like the MC and how the author portrayed him. Not entirely suren who the ML was, I have a feeling his soul was split but thatsnmy assumption, either way I didn't have any strong feelings about any of the (potential) partners. Just meh.. Im surprised it has so many positive reviews.

Ahh this was one of my favourite novels to check in on regularly. The translator did an absolutely fantastic job and the novel itself was an emotional rollercoaster with each world bringing you something new and intriguing.

Honestly, I like endings where the world is at threat and the entire novel builds up to it but this is a romance lol but tye ending was ok-ish could've been better, could've had more stakes but the author did clear up most things

Spoiler

The MC transmigrated into a new world, the protagonist gong and shou showed signs of memories from a different arc, and then he overhears them talking about being fragments of a Supreme God. Then timeskip and MC is talking to a girl who's curious about the three's relationship, and the novel actually just ends with the classmates realizing that the three have a special relationship?

[collapse]

Maybe I skimmed through the ending too quickly, because I have SO many questions. Does MC resurrect into his original world? What even was his OG life like? I feel like we never really get to know MC before he began his transmigrations-the only thing I know for sure is that he's beautiful to the point it charms everyone? Why? Is this intentional because the Supreme God loves him so much that everyone in each world also loves him? Also what even is a Supreme God in this novel? Is he the Main System?

Yeah...I still have more questions, but I was really disappointed by the ending. The MC just accepts that the protagonist shou and gong are both fragments of the soul that quickly? Even if he did, I wish we were able to get a glimpse of what their lives together afterwards would be like.

(Also, this might be because the MC's real emotions were turned off during his prior missions and stuff, but I never really got the feeling that he loved the Supreme God. I feel like I could tell that he definitely held deep affection for the God, but I would've really liked for this to be fleshed out more after he finds out their real identities.)

Overall, I'd been really invested in this novel, but I had expected at least ten more chapters than what we were given. It felt like the author lost motivation and just wanted to get it over with, resulting in such a lackluster ending. However, I do wanna say that the translator for this novel did such a good job, and I was really impressed by the quality and speed of their translations, thank you for the translations! <<less

This is a light story sort of novels, and typically what I'd love to read since they don't require much deep thinking and overall very easy going and fast paced.

I'd recommend if you'd like something as such:

• beautiful MC (very Mary sue, me very likey)

... more>> • many characters fell in love with MC, including cannon fodders

• possessive mls

• harem (sort of).

Though I do say it's not a fully 5 star for me since mainly since it is a light read and didn't complete the criteria of deep world building, or very touching things for me personally, though it's good and memorable.

Some complaints are many things and plot are just repeated I guess It could be said but predictable (I'm not complaining though, I like it though actually lol :3)
Spoiler

like for example stalkers/ cannon fodder mainly just a person who fell in love with him. Also I just feel like there's too much of guys / girls who surround him and mainly those who seems like going to be the main leads, but they're supporting in the end, it's like there's a lack of role for them other than for the novel plot hence making their characters sometimes inconsistent and abandoned midway. Also I guess they seems a bit rushed going a bit to the end, / or from jump to the third world to the last ones is just really abrupt with the main god giving 50000 bonus points, but I guess it's quite understandable

[collapse]

Regardless, not bad, they have interesting concept and it was ended quite well too in my opinion
Spoiler

without having to create harem (?) yet but not ditching the main leads.

MC doesn't have emotional development. Read up until the end of arc 2. Initially I thought he at least loved Tu Xi but only after arc 2 did I realize that he really loved no one. MC looked at everything as his job or task. According to the plot, MC was supposed to play as a s*umbag gong in all arcs but his personality fits the word "s*umbag" on all fronts. Not to mention, he's so upset about not being a gong that he heartlessly left at the end of arc 2. Without even thinking about Shen wenqing. "I don't want to work overtime" he said. Even the system knew human decency to at least say goodbye since they're leaving and this guy said that. I don't know if the Mc's psychology is like he's a god or something but the first arc already explained that the world will continue flowing after the task and he didn't have the heart to even say goodbye to SW. EVEN AFTER EVERYTHING THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH. My heart broke for that omega.

MC is supposed to portray the s*umbag characters but he's a s*umbag himself. It's a perfect fit for him. He's basically playing as himself. Anyway, dropping this thing since I don't like the development.

Lighthearted. Finished in one setting. Enjoyed MC's portrayal and the way he doesn't exactly fall in love immediately.

Portrayal of all characters was kind of bland. The plot flowed well imo, and I liked the amount of action in each arc. Enjoyed the Mary Sue ness.

overall, I'm giving this a 5/5 just for the sake of getting the rating up. it really is enjoyable as a light novel you to read when you want your brain shut off. if you like possessive gongs and s*upidly beautiful MCs then this might be for you.

to preface—i truly had no idea what I was going into. the summary was so cute and fit my tastes, and coupled with the adorable cover, I thought it was gonna be a super fluffy novel. also let it be known that the... more>> author did warn you the MC is a mary sue. you are going to have some of your braincells fried. but first, thank you to translator whitetiger, your translation was quite well done.

this is your typical world-hopping story. it's divided into three distinct arcs: modern actor au, modern a/b/o au, and meta/sci-fi au (all in that order). the last one is a surprise for the readers.

let's start with the mc's character and growth. he's a little bland, but I can't say that's surprising coming from a mary sue character. he's repeatedly described as gorgeous, with a beauty that can make you forget all his past wrongdoings (which is proven time and time again in the novel). grated on my nerves a little when in the actor au a lot of his "scandals" were brushed off because he was so beautiful. but I can't blame it all on his beauty because he
Spoiler

did have a lot of help from the two protagonists to tidy up his messes

[collapse]
(this is a theme throughout all the arcs). he's stubborn asl, and extremely oblivious. he always continues to use the same method to go about tasks even though they clearly failed in the last arc. despite him regaining his emotions in the very last arc, he seems quite the same. maybe that's due to maturity from the past three lives he's lived (I'm going to chalk it up to that), but if that were the case, he really should've changed a bit more. his personality was literally the same throughout all the lives too.

as for the plot, a lot of convenient plot devices were used, such as the system allowing the MC to shut down his emotions, and the biggest one of all (spoiler)
Spoiler

the two protagonists were actually the Supreme God of the system and he split his soul into the two protagonists. the last arc had all the memories from the other arcs condensed into the protags. it's said that when they die in the last arc, they'll become one person for the MC to date.

[collapse]

a lot of people say that the ending was rushed, and I agree to an extent. the ending was dissatisfactory, but I can't say that it was all that rushed. we've had multiple hints dropped as early as the first arc that something wasn't quite right with the two protagonists' souls/memories. the ending was very much hinted throughout the novel, so I can't say that the ending was rushed in that way. the execution, however, could have been much better. the emotional built up could have been much more exciting. it's like saving your favourite flavour of candy as the last bite, only to be disappointed that tastes like sh*t. maybe that feeling was just lost in translation though (as chinese can sometimes describe a lot more feelings in just a few characters than in english). author should've given us more time to connect to the characters.

addressing the tragedy tag—i wouldn't say it's very... tragic? the first and second arc definitely were a little sad, cause the MC cold-heartedly left the mls, but it's not that depressing. so don't feel too bad. <<less
