Sihyeon, possessed by the body of ‘Abnael’, a terminally ill supporting male character in a romance fantasy novel. He receives a revelation from God that he can return home if he completes Abnael’s mission. If it’s the mission of someone with an incurable disease and limited time, isn’t it just dying? He could endure even death if it meant returning home.

But then…

“You’re awake! Butler, Young Master Abnael has woken up!”

“This is crazy…”

Right after death, when he thought it was finally over, he regressed to the moment of his initial possession!

To make matters worse, this regression seems to be because of Calyx, the main male character of the novel…

“Why……”

“You don’t look well.”

The question of why he did such a thing was swallowed up by Calyx’s next words. Abnael unconsciously furrowed his brow at the strange sense of discomfort.

Something is going terribly wrong. An ominous intuition that he might be misunderstanding something flashed through his mind.

Abnael reflexively raised his gaze. It was to read something from the face of the main male character who was suddenly acting strangely. However, the moment he looked into those coldly frozen eyes, he finally realized.

“Why, did you suddenly feel unwell? Is that why you wanted to lock yourself up at home without anyone knowing?”

The fact that Calyx Leopold von Bayern was angry.

…And the fact that this guy seems to be the cause of the regression.

MC's "adventure" and death in his "first turn" in the novel world

but it actually isn't, it's just right. The shifting of pov's for some chapters were also great, well written and not at all out of place. It gives a look on how dude's feeling and a brief peek on what happened after

MC died in the first turn

It's really promising. It's sad tho that I started reading this too early... Now I need more.

Honestly, it's a pretty chill, light read. There's stuff going on and the plot's great but it won't make you grip onto your hair or anything- it gets you there tho, won't make you bored or drop halfway, but then again it's only 39 chapters atm so this may change.

So, defo recommended. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 <<less

If you're looking for a story with exciting action or detailed intrigue with a proactive genre-savvy MC this isn't the story for you. The plot is just good enough to make you want to keep reading, but so far not something so intricate or action-packed that you'll be gripping your hair in excitement or keep you on the edge of your seat looking for more. The pacing of the novel so far, however, is decent and doesn't drag on painfully or go too quickly despite the initial lack of action... more>> and intrigue.

This novel's uniqueness lies in the fact that the MC Sihyeon/Abnael is incredibly passive, making the story very obviously feel like something told from the POV of an unremarkable side character who is just caught up in everything. Sihyeon's only motivation lies in getting back to his original world; however even then unlike most MCs of this type, he appears to give up rather quickly in doing so when the answer isn't the first one he thinks of and not a lot of effort is put into finding an alternative despite having been someone who enjoyed reading novels enough to reference tropes every so often. Also, very little effort is put into figuring out the exact situation that he's in as Abnael since our MC opts to seemingly let things happen as they happen by forgoing the amnesia trope and only lightly asking questions after certain events have happened to try and clarify a situation.

The male lead, Calyx, is truly the driving force of this novel so the brief flip to his POV is a welcome change of pace as it gives a much-needed hint into the fact that what's going around our MC is much more than it seems. Although not the main POV character, his appearances in the chapters bring along what would otherwise be lacking in the story, as he purposefully moves to change things that failed before thus forcing our MC to make changes and different (though still passive) decisions as well. <<less

I read it up to chapter 90, since after that, you need to buy (premium) chapters, and I couldn't afford them.

So far, the story is full of torment for the MC, while the ML suffers trying to keep the MC alive and breathing beside him. There's a mix of black magic, angels, politics, etc., but since I stopped right when the main plot was starting, I lost my chance to enjoy the excitement further.

For those who want to read this, be prepared to buy the next chapters—unless you're okay with... more>> having your excitement cut short after such an intense part.
