Reborn in France, I find myself stepping into the opulence of Versailles, holding the title of Crown Prince, the Crown Prince of France.

But there’s one glaring issue—my father, King Louis XVI, currently occupies the throne. In just two years, history dictates he’ll face the guillotine…

Since I can’t rely on my father or the ministers to save this country, I’ll have to take matters into my own hands and reshape France myself!

First, let’s earn some money and solve the financial crisis that has plagued the kingdom for centuries.

Next, I’ll deal with those scheming nobles who plot to usurp power, giving them a lesson they won’t forget.

Then, I’ll confiscate the vast lands hoarded by the Church, which does nothing but leech off the kingdom’s resources.

With industry, technology, agriculture, and commerce advancing in unison, I will become the greatest Crown Prince in French history!

That year, when the British allied forces threatened our borders, I seized their little island before they could react.

That year, my sword pointed at all of Europe. The unfinished dream of Napoleon Bonaparte? I’ll bring it to fruition!

Magnificent and intensely captivating. The story is amazingly gripping and well written. The author has really done justice to the time period and the characters have been crafted with great care.

There is no nonsensical "cheats" and the MC is likeable. The story knows where its headed and doesnt meander around with stuff like romance or MC abruptly commanding an army and such.

Translation is well done. Highly recommendes 9.8/10

I'm a fan of historical fanfiction / alternate history type deal, I usually read on alternatehistory forum but a lot of times the authors there redact the alternate timeline like a biography and it makes for a rather dry read. I like much better this type of historical fic even if it may take artistic liberties.

Joseph is a pleasant MC to read, I was honestly just glad to see he isn't one of those ultra h**ny MC that immediately form a harem. He does have a lot admirers, but I... more>> appreciate the fact it's all one-sided and he's on that French Industrial Revolution grindset. Still waiting to see who's the lucky fiancée.

Spoiler

I'm excited to see how the Napoleon plotline goes, too. It's interesting to read about him in this novel's context. Joseph's pretty devious, I think that while he IS a pretty dang smart dude even by today's standards, his strongest point is definitely inter-social skills, he's got a real knack for clicking with people and manipulating them, that's been serving him better than modern knowledge at times, like for example see how he handled the Maori tribes— he conquered the people, not the land. I'm also fond of his friendship with Carlos, Joseph's definitely manipulating the dude but it's still somewhat wholesome. It's funny how France is basically becoming famous for being the epitome of civility. The Doom Counter for the French Revolution Arc was also pretty entertaining, and the ending for Duke of Orleans very satisfying. Still waiting for the author to remember the Penicilin plotline 🤣
