Hanazawa Yuzu was confessed to by his childhood friend, who he had always liked, so he immediately said yes. But it was a fake confession due to a punishment game.

On the way home that day, while walking dejectedly and sighing on a park bench, he saw a five-year-old girl playing alone in the sand. There was no family around.

Seeing that scene, Yuzu felt lonely and decided to play with the girl. However, that girl was actually the younger sister of Amase Kotomi, who was known as an angel at school.

This event led Yuzu and Kotomi to become closer.

This is a story about unknowingly and gradually entering the angel’s embrace and being enveloped in warmth.

The first chapter ended with him saying he was never gonna trust the shitter CF again, and then the second chapter ends with him backtracking heavily and merely keeping some distance from her, which he doesn't even do that either. Put simply, the dude's a total simp. It's clear that the author changed MC's outlook so early just to have an excuse to have a harem, because we all know that JP authors can't go even a single second without deforming potentially good highschool romance dramas into shitty harems.

There's also... more>> the fact that the story is just boring as shit. It's clearly written like someone is just keeping a diary of their daily school life, and that's always boring. I already lived through an ordinary and boring highschool life, so I don't need to read about it from mediocre authors who should have been banned from writing on account of how astoundingly awful they are at it. Oh, did I forget to mention that the author 100% plagiarized Otanari no Tenshi-sama's chapter naming scheme. Each one starts with the word 'angel' and is followed by whatever mundane sh*t they're gonna do.

I tried to tough it out, but between all of these severely crippling negatives, I just can't bring myself to continue. Dropped. <<less

I don't know what story MergedAmigo read but it's not this one. I skimmed through the MTL up to ch 22 and the childhood friend shows up once more after ch. 6 and then is never mentioned again.

    Spoiler

The chapter she shows up in is a POV chapter where she sees Amase in the library and stops to chat with her out of "curiosity". During the conversation she realizes she's jealous of their relationship and has the all too late realization that "if" his feelings were genuine during the confession in ch. 1, she trampled all over his feelings and even if they weren't genuine, she really messed up as a friend (no shit, Sherlock) and she makes the decision that she can't take advantage of his kindness and will stay out of his life as much as possible regretting her actions.

    [collapse]

    And she's never seen again.

Ultimately the story is fine. It's a cute premise of a boy who had his feelings treated like dirt finding solace and friendship with the "angel" of the school. She opens up to him and he opens up to her. It's a slow burn romance and the drama from ch. 1 was just a catalyst for his meeting the FL rather than a catalyst for an edgy revenge plot. There's barely any hard feelings between him and the childhood friend <<less

A very simple and straightforward story so far. I am enjoying it and there are really no problems. It seems like an early story in the authors career and it started out a little flat, but that was just for a moment and now it is building up some steam. Story centers around a young man in high school and his interactions with friends and the opposite s*x. Some light drama unfolds and new relationships are formed. That's about all this story has had time to do. Translation seems just... more>> fine. All in all I would suggest it to friends that like this style of writing and this type of content. Looking forward to where it will be going from here. <<less
