He Xianqiu transmigrated into a book, becoming a cannon fodder female supporting character in the 1970s.

This supporting character was a hopeless romantic who went to the countryside for love—completely unaware that the male and female leads had already begun their secret affair behind her back…

She existed solely as a tool to make their feelings grow even deeper. In the end, she was pushed into a river by one of the female lead’s admirers and died early in the countryside.

After her death, her family even became the female lead’s backers, all because the female lead had “looked after” her in the village, making her family feel grateful.

Even in death, she had to provide her last ounce of value to the heroine—how utterly tragic.

And now, she was this supporting character, on her way to the countryside to serve as their convenient tool.

He Xianqiu: …

Could she transmigrate back? Back to her Simmons mattress, to keep lying there in comfort?

But that was nothing but a daydream. He Xianqiu could only “face the hardship head-on.”

Unexpectedly, she ended up becoming the village beauty, the flower of the production team.

While braving these hardships, He Xianqiu married the beautiful, strong, and tragically fated villain.

Looking down at her belly, already several months along, He Xianqiu fell into deep thought.

How did she end up together with the villain…

Just then, the villain pushed open the door, took off his apron, and spoke to her in a gentle voice:

“Qiuqiu, dinner’s ready.”

He Xianqiu looked at the villain—who in the book had always been ruthless—smiling at her tenderly, looking every bit the perfect stay-at-home husband.

She thought about it and realized there was a reason for all this. After all, the villain was such an amazing cook, and he had an unbelievably handsome face.

She couldn’t help it—with those two qualities, He Xianqiu surrendered.

Who told her to be a sucker for good looks…and good food?

I'm not sure if it has any extras but let me just put my thoughts on it.

The beginning was quite a strong introduction, the build up and the characters too. It's already giving face slaps story so much.

But unfortunately, it only stays that way until the so-called OG FL was subdued.

... more>> There were some inconsistencies with the story like FL was supposedly a silver spooned generation where she's soiled left and right. Yet somehow she knows how to make soap? Like the knowledge suddenly comes in and also the recipes.

Now, let's not think about that since the author justifies it by saying she saw it somewhere in the internet.

Let's talk about how some characters who were given the spotlight then vanished. Like the OG ML, Grandpa Zhong, Chang Zuijen, and many more.

With the OG ML, she gets the watch given by the OG He Xianqiu than that's it. Grandpa Zhong was given a work in the soap factory and that's it. What about his family? Weren't they'll be a ble to reunited? Sounds to me that it's a story to tell. And Zhang sister who always looks after her, she helped her with the study materials and they parted ways, that's it?

And also about the OG FL, who was imprisoned or punished. I find it impossible that she wouldn't be going after her after that 5-year punishment.

Additionally, right after that riddance of OG FL, the story became bland. This a personal POV, there's some small conflicts here and there but not enough to make a splash.

It's like the whole story should be around OG FL's karma but when she meets it the author couldn't think of anything particularly impressive anymore that she wrote it in a flash. Like literally in a flash, there's so many fast forwards after that. Everything happens quite fast.

Also, I really like the dynamics and relationships between MC and her family. Aside from the parents and grandparents, I wanna highlight the fact that ML was so good as a father. The only father I saw so far in the cnovels I've read that was so sweet to their child.

The forehead kisses, the praises, and many more things that I find it annoying when the author tried to put some jealousy moments here and there. It feels forced as I saw ML really loved their child so much.

Lastly, I find it low-key off that FL sold their textiles to a foreigner in triple the price even if they tried to justify it by saying that conversion of money was quite different. That so low, really low, and also annoying they always add this type of arcs in the story. An American guy interested in buying products or Chinese culture something like that I find it forced again. It wasn't even relevant. It's only needed as FL build a clothing and empire and the author wanna write how it became an international brand. When it only reminds me of Shein.

Anyways, the starts was quite entertaining but after the biggest conflict some characters were forgotten. Also, the story became bland right after. It's good but it can be better. <<less
