Very soft and fluffy!!! Also very comedic and pretty light hearted. Lots of pampering. If you’re a fan of fluff and BL I would highly recommend.

Overall, love the novel!! I thought it would be boring after they get together but most of it is focused on their life after falling in love and I love it especially because most novels tend to focus on the part where the main characters are in love but not together. <<less

It's only been a few chapter and it's a solid novel.

The author manage to make the premise of the novel into something fun and refreshing.

Being a fish is really hard and like in the NU description, the MC has system. So what does the MC has to do you ask? Well all kinds of nonsense shenanigans that is impossible for a "normal fish".

Quick reminder for readers. Please do not take this novel seriously. Bear in mind that this is fiction and there may be animal ab*se (not to mc), thus... more>> should not make this novel as it should not be.

The MC has a system and not to mention this is a BL, therefore some things are not common sense. That's that.

There's really no ab*se going on it's pretty much stuff that MC has to do to complete the missions in order to get rewards? At times I love the rewards they give to the MC. Plus the kinds of mistakes he has done that makes each mission attempt pretty amusing and funny.

Have not gotten to the point the MC and ML began to like each other so enjoy guys. (づ￣ ³￣) づ <<less

Amazing plot. The plot was plotting. I keep getting reminded of all the plots and events that end up tying together when recommending this novel to others, and then get excited over it again.

The events were well paced, and the overall pacing decent. I didn't get bored while reading through the arcs. It's definitely something I enjoy reading. The events are mostly lighthearted, and I enjoyed the pampering and devotedness of the ml.

It is definitely a novel that paves the way for the main couple (though they do work for... more>> it!) Well suited for a relaxing read, and plots are explained enough that you can turn your braincells off while reading. <<less

I started this novel thinking the premise is s*upid but surprisingly I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a cute comedic novel with an adorable couple. The MC is naive and clueless, but not annoyingly so. As for the plot it’s slightly convoluted with a few plot holes but that’s fine if you don’t think too hard about it.

that was one of the weirdest thing I ever read ngl. And the fact that I dropped it last year. Then coming back to it cause my favorite youtubers talked about it is even crazier.

the story actually is funny, wholesome and very fun read.

i sadly didn't see the mpreg tag so that was quite a choc there, but as long as they were happy, I am happy..

would not read smthn similar tho, and woudn't recommend it either hhhh

Well, like other people, I had a love-hate relationship... but from the middle it became unbearable for me (reason why I'm leaving this reading)

Really the story is very cute, the main CP loves each other a lot and have a great relationship.

The ML is super understanding with the MC and always respects his wishes, the MC also cares a lot about the ML and doesn't mind his disability (mute).

But during a large part of the novel the MC seemed to have a few brain cells less, at first I... more>> didn't find it so noticeable (the first 20 c) but over time it seems that he got worse, before I didn't mind him being slow to understand things, but from a point on this "slowness" can only be denial, it was so senseless.

Also, after everything, there were the fish pups... I honestly am not such a fan of mpreg, I hadn't seen it before, but really my problem is not with the babies, but that it always seems like there is one that is the favorite, in this case, I believe that in this novel they give a lot of emphasis to the 1st and 4th child, while the others are simply disposable to the story.

I even feel that the book's genre changes from the first half to the second half.

Anyway, I really feel that this story is super cute and all, it's probably the taste of many people, but definitely not mine.

i thought I would read this to cheer myself up after finishing joyful reunion :’)

it’s a cute story and the cp are adorable and very much in love. The MC is refreshingly playful with the ML and enjoys lots of roleplay lol. I also loved the fish babies... BUT...

idk I can’t really recommend this unless you are someone who feels zero empathy for antagonists/unfortunate people and get off on seeing them suffer unfairly. Most of the antagonists did get what they “deserved” but there is one antagonist that truly... more>> got fcked over super unfairly. By that point I had to take a break bc the MC was being so weird and uncaring about it, like ‘haha I got mine!’

The ML is one of those mls where their personality revolves around loving the MC so even though he was very sweet and caring, I found him a little boring once they got together and had kids.

MC is kind of naive and acts his age (freshly graduated 18yo hs student) so I didn’t mind his personality and found him enjoyable up until the end. I could handle all of the plot holes and the way the author just brushes details aside and forces you to go along with it, but what I couldn’t handle was how low IQ the antagonists are to the point that everything was extremely predictable and you simply feel bad for them because they are so dumb and the cp are too op. I honestly stuck around for the fish babies more than anything else. But I didn’t like how the ML has an obvious favourite child either.

Overall it’s a good story for fluff but I kind of regret reading it... I felt like Shen Yuan from svsss reading it at times xD There’s much better other options out there for fluff and transmigration that won’t make your brain hurt or feel conflicted, like married 3x to salted fish! <<less

I feel like what needed to be said about this novel's already said but I kinda wanted to give my thoughts on it as well.

If you're looking for a drama filled plot driven novel, the maybe stay away from this one. I expected a lot more from it since everyone's been hyping up in soc med, like don't get me wrong, its not bad, it's actually a no brainer fun little romance but it gets so so annoying after a while.

I’ve reread this about five times and I still love it. Thank you Infinite for this absolute gem.

It’s a light and easy read full of comedic moments and turn-of-your-brain times. MC is a naive airhead with a temper who makes s*upid decisions sometimes but still an absolute cutie. ML on the other hand is a superb green flag ML that is such a doting husband and father. He’s the best.

Don’t read this story for the political intrigue as it has absolutely dumb antagonists that get finished off really easily by... more>> our leads.

This story really shines with the humor. So many unexpected things happen because our MC transmigrated as a fish and has to go through several tasks with a system to finally turn human. The trials our MC go through are so hilarious and the ML really helps him along. It’s just a fun read. Don’t take it too seriously and just enjoy it.

My fave part that made me laugh so loud is when MC has his baby fishes and they too have to do system tasks to turn human and MC is like, omg!! I birthed baby fishes and system also birthed baby systems!!!?? LOL LI YU your brain circuits are so wild and funny. <<less

I would actually give it 3.5 stars, but I'll round it up for the fluff!

The first half of the story was so cute and fluffy and adorable. The good feels continue through the book but I found the second half dragging on quite a little bit for my taste. There was soooome plot and adversaries popping up, but the couple (especially the ML) was too OP to actually worry about anything lol

Definitely not a book to take seriously but to enjoy some cuteness and have a light read!

It's a fun, light read.

Although the plot direction is a bit cliche, with palace intrigue and not-so-smart shou with animal transformation skill and system, somehow it managed to not bore me (despite the fact that I was not always on the same page with the protagonists).

I initially thought the part about the power struggle was s*upid and too much like a child play, yet surprisingly, the final boss is hidden deep enough. This is better than my original impression.

Even though the MC sometimes makes s*upid choices and is annoying, the... more>> romances are very sweet. The children are adorable and each have distinct personalities. The side characters also have their important parts to play, not just being typical, bland filler characters as often seen in many romance novels. I really like the fish babies, Wang-gonggong, and ML's maternal house. 🥲 I also appreciate that the author didn't make ML fight for the throne with his own father.

The only thing that bothers me is that I don't think the original shou deserved all that punishment.

Among all the antagonists, he gets the worst repercussions, yet in fact, he harmed the protagonist camp the least.

yes, it was wrong of him to want to drug the ML, but considering where he came from (the 6th prince's camp), it's still more or less understandable. He was originally blinded by love and the 6th prince's deception and had already gotten his near-death punishment for it. Although his intention of exposing the MC is impure, in actuality, he is just stating the truth. He didn't slander the MC or ML like other villians (it can also be blamed on the MC's negligence, tbh), yet he still got the worst outcome.

Seriously, it's so ridiculous that the emperor actually didn't kill the son who wanted to assassinate him, but allowed the ML to severely punish the og shou just because he helped the emperor with an insincere (but harmless) intention in his time of need.

It's really a pity. I always hope the og shou can turn over a new leaf, leave all the power struggle behind, and live a happy ordinary life, yet the author decided to write his ending to be even worse than death. To have him lose everything, be ridiculed, and suffer both physically and mentally for the rest of his life (and this is the second time this happened to him too), while those who actually schemed and killed get an easy death and lighter punishment. 😔 This is unfair.

  1. This not a comprehended review. I'm just letting out what I'm feeling right now. Okay so, I'm frankly too annoyed by the MC at this point. Too close to hating him after reading chapter 54. As one of the commentors have said, hypocritical tsundere characters are one of the worst kind.

    I don't know why authors think this dimwit angry petulant characteristics supposed to be endearing. It's not. It's just makes people very annoying.

    This MC has all of these 3 attribute in him. And this chapter 54 is just the worst example of it.

    He is constantly blaming everything and everyone but himself. And telling how he hates this particular thing. While he himself does that said thing but in a more severe way. Like wtf?

    I was reading the story with a very mid expectation, and the story itself is okay, exactly what I initially expected. But this one thing about the MC just threw me off. It's very hard to keep reading when the MC is like that. Because you know cause it's the MAIN CHARACTER. Which is a shame cause I wouldn't mind this novel as a light read.

    Now that I think about it, the cover art gives a very accurate image of the MC. Petulant.

    Anyways, I'll keep going and see where it goes.

Read chapter 55 and I hate the MC now. I don't feel bad for him as he is reaping what he sowed. I just feel bad and sympathy for the ML. Dude deserve better. I would've dropped the MC behind at this point.

Overall

Guh, this is too sweet and wholesome QAQ I just read Chapter 40 and nghhhh, so sweet, so touching that I teared up a little ahhhh. This relationship, sniff, I also want someone to treat me like that sniff.

Ahh, this story is great. It is the sweetest, most tender, most healthy and ridiculously heartwarming romance ever. With the most beautiful characters ever. The story has a comedic undertone, purely because of our beloved and adorable MC lol. And the cruel, silent and cannot be disobeyed tyrant is unexpectedly silly,... more>> also because our adorably adorable MC, the tyrant's pet fish hahaha. After they get together officially, we get lots of dog food. I usually am kinda meh for dog food because the romances can be too cringy but this time, the two characters are just too unabashedly sweet on each other. And they aren't in their own world in seclusion from everyone else nope. The ML loves to proudly show off his BF's considerations for himself to anyone who notices anything. He is especially adorable because he's mute

so he will prepare written answers beforehand, saying "... my boyfriend" just in case someone asks hahahaha. Honestly, the main draw is the characters and the romance! I'm normally not invested in romances but the writing here made it easy to love them!

On another issue, I love how long the author really stuck to the disabled part of the ML. In other stories, the disability usually gets magically cured almost halfway through the story. Here, it was all part of the story and part of the final mystery in the plot. And it only got solved at the final arc near the end. Otherwise, the muteness has shown its many effects in all the tyrant's every action. I felt that it really affected his daily life and future and yet the ML still lived his life successfully with it. It's one story where I feel the disability isn't there just as a cheap gimmick to make the MC and the reader pity the ML or to make the MC be the miracle saviour for the MC.

Writing/Translation

The translation I read is from Chrysanthemum Garden so you know it's good haha. The writing has a comedic undertone. The author also writes the characters until they feel so endearing.

Pacing

There are a few arcs. I feel most of them are alright except in the last arc, a couple of scenes/transitions felt like we skimmed some details. But overall, okay.

Plot

The first like 60+ chapters deal with the system missions and a developing romance. The next arc, they move out of the capital and have an established romance + babies hahaha. Then the last parts are more palace intrigue and mystery lol.

Themes/What Story Tried to Achieve

A very heartwarming, beautiful, sweet, adorable, unabashed romance in a setting of a surprisingly decent palace intrigue with the premise that the MC is a fish LOL.

If ya didn't realise it at the beginning, this is one of the super few romances in web novels that I really feel it. The romance is really slow because the MC is a fish and the ML can't speak. So the MC has to really get out of his fish comfort zone to actually achieve anything hahaha. Including interacting with the ML. I love the development here, so funny and cute! This romance is the healthiest one I've read in web novels ever. Both characters you can genuinely feel really love each other and are constantly in that ngawww, I want to see you all the time feeling. Since the MC shou really loves the ML, ofc, he also really likes to have s*x with the ML! He's always happy and excited and looking for ways to happily seduce the ML XD I love this dynamic. Every single romance in web novels is always about the MC getting totally dominated in bed and being used multiple times until the next day. It's a long-running trope of waist tired/limping/"injured"/needing to lay in bed. Also, the MLs will be, "I can't control it, " "you won't let me suffer, will you?", "no definitely means yes", "your mouth says no but your body is honest" *rolls eyes*. I hate all that. In this story, these things never even entered their minds. This is a real effing relationship where both sides adore and are proud of each other. Quite equal.

The palace intrigue is present throughout the entire plot and it is surprisingly good. Better than most web novels that aren't pure revenge palace intrigue web novels anyway. It has stakes that are just enough to feel them, but it is lighthearted enough that it isn't an anxious, suspenseful time. It's not perfect, but I kinda liked it. The face-slapping was reasonably good.

The humour is everywhere haha. All the characters, even those that at first glance are intimidating, stern and scary, can be suddenly funny lolol.

Characters

The characters are the best part of this story. They are so earnest, sincere and very rootable. Also, super sweet and unexpectedly adorable. The MC is a chou and can be very cute when he's in a daze or being absent minded but he's smart, can plan things out and has the determination to commit even if it's embarrassing hahaha. He's no salted fish here. I love how unabashedly he goes after the ML after he finally acknowledges his feelings. He's always thinking of the ML as he should be if he's really in love. In all his actions, he's looking out for the ML. It is wonderful.

The ML is also interesting and very likeable! He's cold, emotionless and ruthless at the beginning but as we go on, we see more and more unexpected sides to him XD We can see his love growing so genuinely. And I love how much he shows his care through his actions. His muteness just highlights this even more. I love how his muteness forces the story to show more nonverbal language to compensate.

All the other side characters are just as good! They all have their unique roles and are distinct. Unfortunately, they don't stay in each arc all the time sadly. I adore the babies, they are so cute and funny. I only wish we have more scenes with them as they grow up. In this story, I like their shenanigans. It's funny and makes me know them more haha.

What a fun read! The story is not too serious, some complicated things but overall a relaxing read. A little bit of plot holes here and there but I can ignore them, I basically stayed here to eat dog food lol. MC is cute, ML is doting, they're op thoughout the story but it's still satisfying. Some more extras would be great :D

I started this when it was still ongoing translation, tried to MTL since the story is really good, but I also thought it was a pity to not fully enjoy this in its full glory since the translation is also good so I decided to wait for the completion. And I'm glad I did. The author is amazing, the story is amazing, and I also thank the amazing translator for sharing their talent and did a good job! <<less
