[Notice: The novel was once dropped at c182, and though its continuing again, its possible the author will drop again later.

The translator was also now been inactive for over a year since this was dropped by the author, and original links to this novel was also taken down. Not sure if it was dmca due to his inactivity]

Wasn't expecting much from all the review bombs when I started, but as someone who has read over 100 chapters, I'd like to say most of the statements are wrong or misleading. Though,... more>> that isn't to say this novel isn't perfect, and that there aren't caveats. If tldr is too much skip below to *** on final thoughts/points.

First I'll be listing my statements on other reviews below:

    • The intro is full of plot holes - LongXi (-- 1 star)
Yes the premise had some plot holes, like how did he still have his apartment? But there are good stories with plot holes, its fiction so you need to glance the other way to enjoy sometimes, especially on the first chaps. As someone who hasn't even finished the first chapter, which I can tell as it was stated with blatant plot armor of MC prepaying the bills beforehand and new government laws after dungeons came to be, bombing it with a 1 star... ugh

    • Boss too op, hence story has 0 tension. Very basic op revenge style story with hardcore edgy dark themes for no real reason. - Been (3 star C40)
I partially agree on the story loses most of the possible tension aspects as the Dungeon Manager Celia is too Overpowered. However this isn't really a blatant negative, as it was never the "weak to strong" type of novel anyways. It is a novel focused on misunderstandings, partial dungeon management, religious like type cult of absolutely loyal monsters and possibly brainwashed people, and territory expansion. Though the MC is weak, and there is a process of him getting stronger, this is not that type of story focus. As his entourage does the work.

The second part is also completely untrue. And this part makes me know they didn't read to C40 like they posted, not to mention the perfect whole number is sus.

This story started as a way to get back on the white church in a fictional setting until his hatred quickly dies down after becoming a bit stronger and completely dissipates by the tine he realizes it's real. And the reason for the novel having dark and edgy themes is thr novel is of him essentially being a demon lord. Like hell, the guy must've not even skimmed the novel correctly to not know the reason. Bros read too much isekai.

    • Zero realism. MC breaks realism. Read this if ur newbie and like revenge stories. Could've been good, but author is inexperienced and full of prejudices. - kroshka (1 star C50)
Same case as above... another suspicious perfect whole number from someone who blatantly did not read that far. The story isn't revolved around revenge in the first place. Have you read any fiction? It's called fiction cause it's not real dumbo, you're on the wrong genre. And all stories have cliches. I'm sorry that a demon has horns and an elf has pointy ears. It must've hurt your feelings of equality.

... Now in all seriousness though, I do agree MC isn't the most well liked. I think he's kinda realistic, but he feels a bit flat compared to side characters which are honestly the main cast I'd argue as it is a multiple pov story type. I think the primary reason for this is the lack of emotions and character development the MC has compared to the relevant side chars which are full of emotions. I also do think the author is a bit inexperienced, but more that they didn't put more time to perfecting the story. There are parts that are done which they lean into but end up completely opting out making it mostly irrelevant or didn't explore more. I'll talk a bit more on this below.

    • The start could've been better. The story's dark and edgy without the need to be. Should've been laid back like Lazy Dungeon Master. It felt like the dark edgy elements were only added to make the story less lax. It also irks me that the MC is perfectly fine with the Dungeon monsters using captured female invaders as goblin baby making machines. If he doesn't know the MC is braindead. - emperorpanda (3 star C70)
Finally a negative review were they reviewiee read more than a dozen chaps. However, even this reviewer didn't read as far as they claimed... and yet again another suspicious perfect whole number... The short review and the if statement makes me doubt as it is in fact true and too much other potential plot events to critique were left out of the review. Which makes me think he dropped few chaps after the incident.

Continuing from the earlier review, this type of plot is exactly what I was talking about. Though a more extreme example, there were a few cases of plots being introduced like this but never done again or explored. If you are going to write a highly controversial fkd up novel like that, you need to at least lean into it a bit more for the story. But what happened was the first captive had her

brother killed and last party member had to watch his crush be Ntrd by goblins. However there were no R18 details at all. It was essentially just stated, she was fkd, he cried, he died. Then there was no mention of said girl for dozens of chapters. All future scenarios where a girl would get captured are never told or said to have happened again until the author suddenly remembered they wrote about this basically. Where they finally mentioned her situation, other prisoners, and a new person with similar circumstances. With again, no R18 but just statement essentially of her soon future with a story jump to something else.

[collapse]

Somehow, the MC didn't know this was happening for the longest time despite all the mindless exploring and scanning he does on his phone of his territory... his emotions were not even mentioned. And when he found out it was essentially plot armor of: "Well they are enemies, the dungeons my heart, so no guilt. I can't always manage so my monsters should have the right to do what they thinks best". So the great Emperorpanda gets a W here. The MC is partially braindead as there are also other cases where he doesn't notice what the monsters were doing.

Now on his comment of Lazy Dungeon Master, thank fkn God the story is nothing really like that. Though that did have a great premise and goodish start, the novel was full of flaws and quickly went downhill, especially with the plot story writing. As do goes most isekai type stories. As it is not going that route, the dark themes are due to him essentially being a demon lord. It's literally stated in his Dungeon name that it is the Nest of the EVIL GOD. I also don't really get all these edgy claims other than the reviewers copy pasting the negative reviews before them. If you wish for a somewhat similar example to this novel, think Overlord (though way better written for sure). Though less direct example correlation, even tr*sh Of the Counts Family could be thought of a similar way where his subordinates take care of everything as the MC is mostly weak and surrounded by op chars.

* * *

So what's my personal thoughts on whether to read or not?

Personally, I think it's worth a shot if you like most of the following themes:

    • Misunderstandings
    • Servant type chars with absolute faith and loyalty (religious like cult following)
    • Territory type expansion plot
    • OP chars (comedic and reliable) ; one of few op char type stories that actually did it right I say as most are crap
    • Strong side characters
    • Multiple pov location storyline
    • Yandere chars
However, some of these themes below may deter you from liking the novel:

    • Probably dropped by the author : (Honestly with it being to seem a newbie author, I can't say I'm that surprised, but I did expect it to be finished with how much was written
    • Slow pickup, you'll need to tough it out and get past the first few chaps to actually get into the story
    • Weak written MC, MC can be considered filler content honestly
    • OP chars (less tension type plot)
    • Possible Triggering themes / controversial topics (r*pe, brainwashing, killing of everyday or goodish type folk, religion rebellion) [though again the biggest one r*pe was never deeply written into nor R18 but of this happened or about to type statements which may be more lenient okay towards or degenerates away towards if u r a fkd up person that came here from the tag]
    • Newbie author mistakes (sometimes plot stuff is introduced but forgotten [sometimes even completely irrelevant to the story] or doesn't fully explore into)
    • Occasional editing mistakes (hims/hers being mixed, but more commonly for this site, things that are yes/do statements get misput as the opposite, such as does/doesnt; though I havent seen this since I started reading again from c120, but there are still occasional editing mistakes) [this also makes me wonder if those irrelevant type or forgotten about plots was possibly a translation mistake or one's never translated into the story and left out]
    • I feel like the story downgraded a bit after the

      7 star climax around c110s

      [collapse]
though the smaller plots were honestly getting better, the bigger main plot and main character interactions felt a lot weaker than it was in the first half.
With a final thought summary of the novel this reviewer did a nice job summarizing so please like his review tbh

"This isnt a slow life japanese novel with cute monster girls serving the MC and having quirky misunderstandings, but a grim dark korean novel where monsters act like monsters when given vague orders and left to their own devices." - zhanxian (5 star c15)

So go away hopeless isekai nerds who review bombed the novel. Like how can you even genuinely 5 star isekai novels? Most of them are usually poorly translated and edited too... yet they always search for more while in the phase... as I admit I was once them when I was a newbie reader starting out x-x <<less

Nice enough story but badly written MC, try hard edge lord, who knowingly, as weak as he is inserts himself in uncomfortable scenarios where doesn't belong, and get mad because people don't respect him treats him as nuisance.

Also intro is full of plot holes. He got an ad for a game, he played it right away. He got asked to pay for an in app purchase before being able to start playing, and he did.

He was missing for a year yet his water and gas wasn't cut. And that's just... more>> the start of the novel. <<less

Started out fine. Fell off quite hard. The MC gets 1 billion star monster and all tension is immediately removed because his servant is the strongest monster in the world, but the novel keeps trying to focus on the dungeon even though the boss is basically unbeatable. There's not much else to it, just a very basic op revenge style story with hardcore edgy dark themes for no real reason.

an interesting dungeon story. Just a heads up: things get dark at chapter 13. This isnt a slow life japanese novel with cute monster girls serving the MC and having quirky misunderstandings, but a grim dark korean novel where monsters act like monsters when given vague orders and left to their own devices.

The beginning of the story wasn't too stellar and the story itself felt like it's trying to be dark and edgy without having the need to be. This could have been a Slice of Life story like the Lazy Dungeon Master if the MC wasn't transported back to his home world for all we know but the route was changed to be a try hard "dark" and "edgy" story with some intentional misunderstandings sprinkled it to add a bit more tension to the already lax story.

Also, it might be just... more>> me but it irks me that the MC isn't batting an eye at the fact that his dungeon monsters are using human women as baby making machines. If he doesn't know they're doing that then it's even more braindead. What's his use outside of pouring some occasional money to the dungeon? Decoration? Might as well have been a story about the succubus without that s*upidly useless MC. I might've enjoyed that story more rather than this MC that's not only lacking in personality but is also fcking useless like what the inhabitants of the other world he hates says he is xD. <<less

is great read so far... a dungeon building game that turn out to be real dungeon I another world. A typical story like that. The story about the second intruder solidify the story. That's really gruesome end. I feel like is not necessarily to include, maybe better just imply. But well I read several doujin with the same scenario.

This novel would be if a Dungeon Maker game, a JP Fantasy isekai, and a KR gates/dungeons modern novel had a baby.

The dungeon making part is well thought out and enjoyable, and it's also about 80% of the novel. The isekai is connected to the dungeon and is the byproduct; what happens in the dungeon mainly affects the isekai world. The only big issue is that there's no danger or tension, it's like if he's playing on godmode with unlimited resources, which makes it a little tiring. The modern part... more>> of this novel is where it falls flat. It's kind of an afterthought with a handful of minor plotholes that you just have accept as is. My biggest gripe with this novel is the MC's apathy. When he finally found out that his dungeon was actually real (and killing real people), he was pretty much like "oh that's nice." He also wanted to get revenge against a couple people, but he's been sitting on his hands for like 70 chapters. <<less

So the story feels like a little bit of a mislead, it tries to give you that demon king thing, but it doesn't really key you in that that's the kind of story, and the character is sort of apathetic about what's happening which undercuts the brutality which now becomes this weird just expression of gore for I don't honestly know to what effect. I feel a little apathetic about it now and would rate it around a 3 star.

This tone shift and just some things not being transitioned well,... more>> as well as the design of the gore in relationship to the reader, I don't find it a good package. <<less

MyRAMEN has the best review but I had to give up.

The MC feels more like an NPC to me because the only time he is of importance is to further the plot.

There is nothing of that sparks my imagination. I feel like the only reason the MC exists is to be a plot device to connect the side characters and lore.

To me that feels like eating plain water/rice porridge in a fancy bowl with sauces and herbs as flavor. Tastes nice but does not feel like anything substantial.

0/5 there is pretty much zero realism to the story at all which takes you completely

out of it. From the way which characters act and how the MC reacts to the environment

and his current situation.

read this if you are new to reading novels and like dungeons

and revenge

Spoiler

i am sure there was a great story if it was written out properly

but it's written like this either because the author is inexperienced or has prejudices

ironically he is using their fantasy as a base.
