Six months ago, tens of thousands of black phantom towers appeared all over the world, floating above the cities. Chemists, physicists, religious people… all of them could do nothing.

Six months later, people became used to the towers and no longer paid them attention.

One day, Tang Mo saw a flying insect crash into it instead of going through it. The next day, a sharp and clear child-like voice issued an announcement to all humans.

“Ding dong! November 15th, 2017. The earth is online.”

The black tower’s three iron-clad rules:

What I would consider the best read ever. This novel is worth anyone's time especially the plot, the plot twists, characters and their development, the games and the villains.

If you are looking for romance...... this would not be it, there is love and fluff between the MC and ML but it took until chapter 105+ for a somewhat ambiguous confession and a kiss. It took so long but the wait is so worth it.

As an avid reader this is one CN novel that I would say is well thought out... more>> and well written than any of the other ones i've read. Every chapter detail, character, instance, is connected and has meaning in the story and its beautifully written.

Kudos to the author and if anyone is doubting with the long chapters, you won't even notice it after you start reading cuz its that good.

BTW the tag Yaoi is misleading and incorrect because it is not yaoi/danmei it is shounen-ai ONLY and for some reason I can't edit the tags so yea... <<less

Honestly, it's so good. I absolutely love the plot and how they have to solve instances. It's so interesting to read about them solving the puzzles and mysteries. This story has great world building and I thought a lot of characters were interesting, not just the two leads.

This novel is so freaking exciting and made my blood boil in excitement multiple times. The couple is very nice and if you're not a BL fan I still think you can read this and have a good time because it's just that... more>> good. Also, the MC and ML are pretty equal in strength and have their own weaknesses/strengths which is what I love. It isn't just the shou MC riding on gong ML's tail like a lot of other novels.

Although some instance rules are pretty confusing and can take some time to understand (I didn't even try to ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯). But I still think it's great. There's also some action here and there.

Basically, read this. Just do it. You won't regret it <<less

It's a fantastic read!

The plot and the writing are crazy good. Everything in this novel is fun and exciting. Both ML and MC are so smart (that I feel dumb sometimes), and they're super cool throughout the story. It's like you already know from their god-like characters that no one can harm them, but still couldn't help but get excited and thrilled as the story progressed.

Seriously, I'd recommend this to anyone finding a good novel, not just limited to BL readers.

I love the novel so much.

The concept is interresting, the plot has many twist and turns and a big mystery to solve, both the main characters and the side characters feel real and are well-rounded, and the story over-all is very compelling and I had a fun ride reading this novel.

It really made a rollercoaster out of my emotions.

This novel is really extraordinary. MC is a queen badass and ML is really cool and good character. The best ML have a conscince. That means he saves innocence people unlike the other novels. Language is really easy. And characters are eccentrically. I love how to work slow romance. If you want to read like this novel, you can read Game Loading. This is really good one.

I hadn't been this entertained by a story in such a long time. The translation quality is excellent. The plot always moves along so nothing is stagnant. The missions/games are super creative and unlike anything I've read, really engaging too. Some people might find the romance to be too slow or little, but I'm fine with it because what stood out to me more than the romance is the world-building. I really was pulled into the world and characters. What's fantastic is the story doesn't pretend to be intelligent but... more>> truly is an intelligent novel. The explanations aren't made up gibberish and actually make sense once things are revealed. Truly, a gem of a novel. <<less

I loved this book. Each game/puzzle is unique and it's fun to attempt to solve them along with the protagonist. The compelling romance, well-developed side characters, and plot that keeps the reader guessing make this book well worth a read.

This is a very visual novel, with a good potential for a tv series adaptation or donghua. A post-apocalyptic survivalist novel with interesting colourful characters and coherent well-detailed and action-packed story.

To sum up the book, black towers (origin unknown) invade earth and force humans into sinister "game instances". The games are mostly board/mind games, with malicious tower bosses and monsters. The bulk of the novel is about the MCs surviving those game instances and there is very little romance or anything else. I love BL but the lack of romance... more>> here is totally coherent and logical in a survivalist situation. Who has time for romance when you can be killed at any moment of every day. Despite humans having superpowers, none of the characters in the book are OP, except for the black tower bosses. Even when the 2MCs finally had s*x, it was just 2 lines and that's it lol.

The game rules and description are sometimes hard to comprehend. There are probably a lot of scientific jargon that is lost in translation. But overall, this did not bother me that much. <<less

Plot is A+, among so many that I read, this stands as one of the best bl novels, if you want a comparison, definitely standing next to grandmaster of demonic cultivation and legendary master's wife. Truly a rare gem.

It is exciting and the plot just sucks you in. It's full of mystery and adventure. Characters you love to hate and hate to love. Protagonists are witty and charming, supporting characters are thoughtfully crafted and flow of story is logical.

You'd expect in these types of stories that the storyline would become... more>> sloppy but it actually didn't. Definitely worth the read. In addition, translators are extremely diligent and didn't let the storyline down.

Great story till the very end. <<less

I didn't expect it to be so interesting. The plot is complex and so are the main characters. By solving new mysteries the go to solve the biggest one - who turned earth into a deadly gameplay.

Overall a fun and casual read. Some chapters were a little bit too drawn out and boring but I appreciate how the author handled the relationship between the main character Tang Mo and the main lead Fu Wenduo. Their relationship grew organically and it just became a delightful backstory of the more hard-hitting plot that was going on. Interesting premise, a little bit all over the place, but nonetheless, I felt like I devoured something worthwhile.

I was hesitating to read this since from the summary I can't feel the romance of BL ?

BUT I WAS GLAD I STILL READ IT BECAUSE IT'S ONE HELL OF A GREAT STORY!

On the later parts I totally forgot I was rooting for the MC and ML because its that interesting!!

And when the romance, I so love, shows up, I was so thankful I read this.

I love this novel.I really had a great time reading this. If you haven't try this novel, I highly recommend you to start reading it now! The story line is solid and based on the games, which are actually fair and are the reflection of human nature itself. Not like some despairing hopeless game based stories you usually read online. So if you are still deciding whether you should read or not, I suggests you to just pick it up and read this good sh*t! You won't regret it! MC... more>> is really great. He is strong both physically amd mentally. He is clever and intelligent but not heartless either. Unlike those weak soft crying "always-needed-by-ML-to-save-them"MCs in other novels, Our MC is a total badass. All in all I really like MC. This novel's ML is one of the most rarest type in CN BL novels, "a-good-natured-gentle-Gong". Yes you are not reading it wrong. ML is a good and righteous man neither possessive nor Sadistic. He doesn't go around went crazy and wild whenever MC get along with someone or talking with someone Lmao. Lastly, I will warn you, the romance development is very slow in this story. Like very very slow. VERY SLOW. (The important things must be said three times!) So please prepare your heart if you are expecting papapapa! <<less

I found this story by chance after reading an unrelated story on the same website that had been translated. I admit I was a little skeptical when I started reading, mainly because the story I had just finished reading had nothing (and I mean NOTHING, I was reading Rebirth of a Supermodel so the only shared quality was the BL) to do with it and based on the description I didn't think it'd be something I would be into.

I was very wrong.

I am genuinely glad I took a gamble... more>> and read the first few chapters instead of just tossing it to the side, because within the first few chapters (maybe the first 5 or 6?), I had been s**ked into the world alongside Tang Mo (MC) and my attention was stuck. I was reluctant to even sleep during the three days I spent binging this, and considering this wasn't my kind of genre I was surprised by how absorbed into it I got. I only tried it out because of a mixture of boredom and curiosity over where the BL would come into things.

Simply summerized: In this story the humans of Earth are forced to play a game by the alien towers that invaded the world six months prior and haven't moved or made a peep since. This game pits them against a lineup of dangerous bosses and monsters inspired by the world's culture and forces them to challenge its seven floors in order to survive. If they fail everyone dies, but if they win only most of them die. It's worth a shot, right? At least they've cool abilities, physically and mentally enhanced bodies, and some eccentric props to make the show go on.

What? More than half the population was killed or spirited away by the Tower from the beginning? What do you mean several million people died before the first floor was cleared? That's okay, we'll be badass on our own and clear it all.

I'm kidding. Somewhat. You should read the story to know how much was a lie. It's basically the apocalypse, but there are no zombies and there is still a chance of death even when simply taking a walk through the deserted streets. <<less

I easily overlooked it a few times but once I pushed through, it was so addicting that I finished in less than five days.

This is one of the best novels I have seen. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. It contains a perfect mix of thriller/action/mystery/bl. It keeps you hooked, and made you want for more. Its a good thing that when I read this, the tranlation was already finished. Or else I dont think I can handle the suspense and cliffy at every chapter. The characters and the plot were well-made. When reading this book, I felt that my IQ was equal to 0, well maybe it is equal to 0.

so apparently in their world a black tower suddenly appeared on Earth. And they need to attack the tower, which means participating in games made by the tower. These games were very hard, and it mostly need logical thinking in order to pass the games.
