The forsaken young boy saved the betrayed, battered dragon princess—and was saved by her in return.

Born as “Gilbert,” the sixth prince of the Hylics Empire, one of the major powers of the western nations, he was deemed as useless and lived a wretched life within the imperial palace. His life was worse than a servant, despite the royal blood flowing in his veins.

Even so, he convinced himself that he was happy. He believed that he was allowed to live in the imperial palace and was able to survive until now because his father, the emperor, was protecting him.

However, Gilbert’s hopes and feelings were in vain. Upon meeting his father for the first time, he was abandoned in the “Dark Forest,” a place teeming with countless demon beasts. In despair and about to give up on his life, Gilbert stumbled upon a massive, wounded black dragon lying in the Dark Forest. That dragon was none but “Mercedes,” the princess of the dragon kingdom, who was betrayed by her subordinates and forsaken by all dragons.

This was the story of a young boy, consumed by despair and forsaken by his own father, who found love in a betrayed and forsaken dragon princess. The two of them would eventually find true happiness.
