- Story.
About the system:It has interesting elements, like the reward cards: one showing a tragic and bad scene, or a tragic and good one from the future or past. I don't quite remember what they were called.
On the other hand, its system reminds me of Solo Leveling, in the sense that its growth is a one-way arrow. Just like in that story, where it was inevitable for the protagonist to become a shadow monarch, here it seems like he will become a... Lunar Saint?
Also, the fact that the MC is a judo master at an Olympic level and that, due to his stubbornness and sense of justice, he negatively affected his team and was eliminated for it, seems quite original and interesting to me.
-
- Pacing:
There are moments when, as omniscient readers, we learn important information, but the protagonist doesn't. So, we watch as the MC doubts and struggles with something we've known for 1, 5, or even 10 chapters already. Then, even other characters deny it and rediscover it, and we have to see the MC either ignore the fact once again or learn "new" information that we've already known for a long time. This wouldn't be a problem if it didn't happen repeatedly; reading and re-reading the exact same thing for multiple chapters doesn't make it more interesting.-
- Protagonists.
The MC wakes up as a child around 10 years old, but he is fully aware that he is actually a 28- or 30-year-old adult. Naturally, he doesn't take childish teasing seriously, and he thinks and understands things that a normal child wouldn't. Quite logically, several adults notice this. But then, for several chapters, all his maturity goes out the window, and he acts like an impulsive little kid-- only to put his feet back on the ground about 20 chapters later.
She constantly overanalyzes things at the level of a top political and military strategist, which completely throws you off. If you read any of her POVs or thoughts separately, you wouldn't even suspect she's a kid! And only when the MC gives her a stuffed animal does she show a tiny bit of "normality"-- and even then, barely. Hugging a plushie or having nightmares doesn't make her a child.
-
- About their relationship...
FL sees him as a fun and therapeutic pet, while MC sees her as the devil himself, someone he must keep happy at all costs-- to the point where he doesn't even see her as a little girl but as a dangerous enemy. (The fact that she already acts like an adult doesn't help.) However...MC, a man of almost 30, ends up falling in love with her while she is still a 12-year-old girl... Yes, he is an adult in a child's body, but no matter how abnormal she is, she is still a little girl... I thought he would fall for her after escaping, when they were older.
-
- Character Development.
Up to the point I read, MC and FL are practically the same as when they started.Later on, there's a time skip. MC becomes stronger and, in any case, abandons his plan to escape (accepting the possibility that she will consume him) and treats the villainess more respectfully as his teacher. As for FL... she was already a Mary Sue/OP character, but now she gets jealous more easily.
In fact, if you ignore the time skip, there's no difference in how they talk, act, or think. They have no personal development whatsoever.
