It's true that letting the alleged saintess come and go in the palace was s*upid, but there must have been a reason, a light enchantment she cast on a couple of guards or something, so it's not confirmed to be their fault. All the other crimes the nobles did were under enchantment, and definitely not their fault, including the crown prince.

A father and brother were forced to give false testimony against and concede to the torture and humiliation of the daughter/sister they loved with a smile on their face. Two men who were in love with this woman were not only forced to love another, but harm the one they truly loved with sadistic glee. Everyone was forced to live in a lie for three years with their eyes clouded and their morality compromised. Those aren't minor events, they're traumatizing.

The ones who stepped down through guilt is fine, such as the crown prince, father, and prime minister. I think that's extremely s*upid, as so many people in power stepping down all at once greatly affects the balance of the country, so it seems more selfish than repentant, but whatever. They're doing what they think is right (even if it's definitely not for the benefit of the country, but for their satisfaction, to lessen the guilt. Seriously, the crown prince spent his whole life being trained to take care of the country, but he chooses to waste his days in a monastery praying for a woman who isn't even dead? He is, quite literally, a wasted resource). The other guys, though. It said they were disowned? It didn't specify that this was by choice. If it was, same point as before, if not, what hypocrites the parents are! It's not like they noticed the enchantment either! Again, it's not really their fault. As for the guy who turned to alcohol, that's the most likely scenario when dealing with guilt, but still an unfair fate.

Rage, I don't understand at all. He's kind of a hypocrite. He would've done no different in their shoes except for the s*upid OP cheats he got when he transmigrated. I get that he's mad on behalf of the woman he loved, and logic doesn't have to apply in such a situation, but he doesn't seem to understand what the victim, herself, did: the people around her loved her and only did that due to the enchantment MOST people would've been unable to resist, and would absolutely hate and destroy themselves upon being released... which they did. So, if she had her memories, she probably would be angry as all get out at him.

Basically, I think it was selfishness that motivated him. The people she loved and cared about before (and loved and cared about her in return) are suffering greatly now that the spell has lifted. He killed her off in the story he wove, so they have no choice but to continue to live (making shoddy, guilt-ridden decisions until their inevitable end) or lay down and die (pretty sure that's the route of the alcoholic, and essentially, the prince, too). They can't make it up to her, so they think, but she IS alive. She has amnesia, but she's still her. He made the choice for her, selfishly, either because he was afraid to lose her or was just that thoughtlessly angry, wanting suffering innocents to suffer some more. A third option would be, to avoid an annoying war, he's doing it with intention to tear the country apart from within. Personally, I think that's what's happening. He doesn't seem like a good person, anyway.

I also think the villainous saintess' comeuppance was weak. They tortured her into confessing her sins, just as they did to the daughter, invalidating the confession. This part does make me think less of the prince and co. For all they knew, they were enchanted FOR REAL this time, and were cursed to think the saintess was actually not their type (the fact that being fat = ugly and unattractive is another mark against the story), cursed to think the things they believed so strongly before for 3 years were all lies. If enchantments can make people make up laws and facts out of nowhere, they can make people forget laws and facts, too. Basically...

They once again punished without a proper trial or investigation beyond word of mouth and compromised memory. And this time, they went all in on a torture investigation turned execution. It hints that the leaders are right to step down, as they are definitely flawed, but something tells me the author didn't plan for that.

She's not dead of course. She just lost her memories. But I think it was for the best because remembering her memories only caused her to suffer and she deserved to be happy after those tragedies.

I think it was kinda excessive to have a cheat isekai hero solve everything and blame the problem on the ones who were brainwashed. They shouldn't be completely at fault for being brainwashed to commit the crime.

The author does mention he wanted to write it in a way that conveyed it was the kingdom's fault because they didn't make countermeasures/signs of brainwashing but from reading just the story, there's no indicators of such countermeasures against brainwashing. The story itself only shows a saintess resistant to it or a literal deus ex machina hero with powers given by God (s) that counters brainwashing after everything was already too late.

Despite the author tagging it as an otome game, I did not know it was an otome game until the heroine was being cooked like a sweet potato.

Having the evil heroine being tortured to death can be great for some to read but considering how the villainess was also tortured, it seems less justified after the isekai hero was just ranting about how horribly they treated the villainess. Just because you did a horrible thing to one person, doesn't mean it is better if it is done to another person. (Though I will not hold this point too strongly since this ending was requested by the Japanese readers because they felt the heroine being guillotined was too tame)

Where the initial cause of the problem is that the people involved were mind-controlled/hypnotized. Theey literally have almost no culpability. They had no control over the situation. They may have physically carried out the horrible stuff that happened, but they are just as f*cked as the victims of their actions while they are being controlled. They likely don't want to do what is being done, but they're blamed for everything that happened? Nah, you should break the curse/control and let em know what happened, but don't go pretending that they're the bad guys. They are victims too. Don't try and drag their asses through the mud and make em feel worse than the realization of what they did while controlled will bring to em. Now, if they did all that sh*t without being mind controlled? F*ck em, they deserve bad shit.

I love how everyone broke down when the truth was revealed. Although, they were manipulated, but none of them were actually able to break free from the spell. This goes to show how their feelings and will weak.

What they did to the 'villainess' was so cruel. The 'Heroine' wasn't even hurt that badly, and the punishment was public humiliation and banishment.

I love that the 'villainess' got a happy ending. Although, not perfect, but she at the very least deserved peace and a loving partner.

I understand why the hero is made and wants to help clear the villainess's name, but why is the author trying to make us mad at the kingdom as well? I only feel pity for them since they were brainwashed and when the brainwashing was broken they were all extremely remorseful and horrified. The author simply didn't do enough world building for us to be able to tell if they were s*upid for being brainwashed or not, and also how difficult it would've been to break that brainwashing, since the only person who broke it was the super op hero which is a terrible frame of reference. At least it was a somewhat happy ending, and I appreciate that the hero loved a "tainted" woman, but I feel like the kingdom's punishment was a little too severe considering that no one was actually willingly doing any of the harmful actions. Only person who I was mad at was the Saint, and it was at such a comical level that it looped back to me not being that angry. Still feel bad for what happened to the villainess though, even if she is happy now.

i said that I remembered something from reading a review above. It was the fact that maybe if it wasn't tagged as a villainess story and we saw it as ninomiya's adventure story, some of us might sympathize with him instead.
