The story is slow but it has potential. I've just reached a good stopping point in reading mtl that's why i've only read around 99 chapters.

Well its mostly cooking & eating, although MC joined the Oni's party and have done some quest there wasn't really much happening as it will almost always turn to cooking and eating. Well there are some things happening around the world but it's not MC's responsibility so it's like a "so what?" situation for me.

Incredibly refreshing! Haven't seen a novel where the MC is a modern camping aficionado before. The vibes are like Laid-Back Camp, where the story focuses more on the joy of making food using camping equipment and enjoying the serenity of the outdoors.

MC is practical and competent, with a special love for fishing that's shown in the detailed explanation of different fishing techniques. Story's alright so far.

Kiri raven's den is amazing. They have a setting where there's a picture of who's talking and it can also be color coded.

For me, a huge turn-off for Japanese novels is that the dialogue is so flat and confusing. Just the lines going back and forth with no attribution to who said what for pages. Even if it's just two characters, it can get confusing when it goes on too long.
