I am an abandoned black cat. Having not even been named, “I” met a human man one day. For some reason, he couldn’t leave me alone, someone who didn’t know love. Which is why, I decided to go live with him.

— Naming me Alexandria? You’ve got to be joking! Just imagining it gives me the chills. Oi, youngster, do something about this. Hmm, “Kuro”, huh. That ain’t too bad. You can call me that.

This is the story how “I” not wanting to live, loved people so much that I prayed to cling onto my existence for the first time in my life. A story of how I spent 14 years with a human family.

Judging from the last reviews. I was already expecting for a feels trip. But expecting it and experiencing it are two different matters. I really cried from this heartwarming story.

A prideful cat whose heart was covered by ice was thawed by the warm heart of nice person

All I can say is:

I'm so happy that I was able to read this story

This is a cute little story of a stray cat that gets adopted by a writer's family. It's short, sweet and a must for animal lovers!! Be warned... you're going to need a tissue towards the end!

Help me..I'm crying.. TT..

The story is so beautiful. From cat POV, we can have this heartwarming feeling. All of life being have feeling. I also had a cat, and I remembered how sad I feel when it try to called me before it died in my lap..

I read this novel after I read very emotional novel, but instead, this novel make me cried more..

Thanks translator for pick this novel. Arigatou..

Thought this would just be a short read, was not expecting tears to almost form at the end.

This is just a sweet story of a stray cat who found a place where she belongs, where she felt accepted and loved. It's just a sweet short story more like a slice of life that tells the story of Kuro, the cat, and her new family. The cat is oddly very smart but I think that's just the author's way of bringing out more personality and character to the cat.

Well written and... more>> nothing extra added. Concise as it needs to be and just sweet. Nothing more, nothing less. Give it a shot! <<less

It was such a feel trip. I was worrying for the kitten at first, then I laughed with her, smiled with her. At last, there was a lump in my throat. Such a loving, heart warming and well written short story.

Finally I would say, If you love tusundere, then get a cat. No heroine could compete with a cat on that. Trust me.

This tore my heart to shreds........ T.T

I knew that it was coming, but the feels still hit so hard that I couldn't see through the tears.

A really, really, REALLY good story. I highly recommend reading it.

I'll go and cry a bit more now.......

Oh my !!! What a beautiful story!

Kuro the cat, was able to bring out so many emotions in me while reading. I smiled unknowingly with her fun remarks and shed tears for her last moment. Cats do have many different personalities, but Kuro was the most special of them all; she was a true tsundere cat.

I've been a long-time reader but this is my first review.

Like the other reviews, it's a nice slice of life story about a cat and the family they grow close to over the years. I'm generally not a very emotional person and I've never owned a pet but this story got me right in the feels. I wish I had a Kuro-chan of my own to cuddle. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

A very beautiful and well-written story about a stray kitten being adopted by a kind man and his family.

I'm writing this review with tears still streaming down my cheeks, as the story makes you feel so much love and devotion that it's no longer pet/owner but family. And as I have had the luck of having a cat-family member, I remember the heartbreak from when it dies.

I read the summary, I read the reviews, I knew there would be feels at the end but I still couldn't stop the feels. This is without one of the top 5 stories I read along with About the Reckless Girl Who Kept Challenging a Reborn Man Like Me and death flag. I read it all I under an hour and I loved every moment of it. It was an amazing story showing us the life of a cat born a stray but died loved by his family.

Great translation, consistent language that fits the tone and pace of the story really well.

The Fourteen Years I Spent as a Cat can be described in one word. Heartwarming. It's a short story spanning 10 chapters, following a stray cat as he is adopted into a warm family of humans. Basically a cat version of "Hachi: A Dog's Tale", albeit in first person.

It takes at most an hour and a half to read through, so there's not much else to say.

Read this to go on a short ride on the feels train.

It was very nice and you could make a short video of this with watercolours.

Sometimes I hate it that my english is so bad.

What I want to say is:

It was good it had feeling and you thought you are by this people aka cat.

Sobbing. This is a rlly wholesome story that grabs your heart.

I should be learning for my exam and now I am so sad. I just want my parents to feel like kuro, watching girly. I feel like my parents can’t be this proud of me because I just can’t give my best TT.

This is kinda breaking me. This story is so human. I just want a cat now.

This is so sad. It hits all my soft spots and tears me up so badly.

What a sad, heartwarming story. It makes me miss my cats that have passed on over the years. I only wish it was longer. If you like animals you can definitely relate to this one.
