No common contact whatsoever, and I got liked by her… and my school life got drastically changed!?

Having been spending my days only studying without even a single friend, I saved her out of just a mere whim.

That’s how it should be, but—

“I could hardly wait for after school! …Hey, kiss me.”

That incident led me to start dating Shino.

Spending time together after school, going along with each other’s hobbies, frequent sleepovers…

She is kind and always sticks to me.

Moreover, my classmates took notice of me, gave me a makeover, and my surroundings also got noisy.

It’s making me more restless than when I was alone, but… well, I guess this kinda school life is also not bad.

I would say its definitely on the better side of this genre for me personally, their relationship develops quickly and theres no love triangle or anything like that and its a nice fluffy slice of life read. I'm taking away a single star because of a few factors, while the characters themselves are pretty good there are times where it feels a bit forced (Especially with the male lead being a loner, it feels like the author is going overboard to portray that he is a loner) and the plot... more>> overall feels a bit weird towards the end, with things like how he bought a charismas present half way through the volume but then the book never actually got there. All the above reasons are somewhat minor but the thing that really made me give it 4 stars was how the book is starting to develop, I really don't like how the author created the friend character who is a very feminine boy and how that relationship is developing. The main character not telling shino is just annoying since hiding things in a relationship is just never a good idea and its painfully obvious that the reason why he is hiding it is because the author wants to have shino get jealous later. It really makes me dislike the male lead since in another chapter shino goes out of her way to tell him that she won't do anything that will make him jealous so he better do the same and he agreed to do it and then just a bit later goes back on his word. I really don't get why the author is creating this arc since the story is just a fluffy slice of life... This is a bit unrelated but I feel like ranting about it, I really hate how authors add drama to romance stories. I understand having drama but the issue is the audience who are reading romance novels generally want the main couple to come together and its painfully obvious when a character is just there to stir drama... Especially stories where they do bullsh*t like a little sister who isn't biologically related loving the MC or other s*upid plot devices where they just slow down the story and only serve to increase word count and make readers frustrated. Generally the romance novels that have good drama are the ones where the drama is unrelated to the main couples relationships, something like in the angel next door spoils me rotten how the drama was centered around her family rather than on the main couples relationship... it allows you to still have drama which can serve to move the characters closer together while at the same time allowing readers to get the satisfaction of their relationship developing without the circles of worthless love triangle drama. Anyway, went on a tangent there... Overall this book, at least the first volume, is a nice fluffy slice of life novel... I liked the beginning of the novel and started to lose interest towards the end of the volume since it feels like the author started to run out of content to write about causing them to add drama but its still not a bad read, especially compared to some of the other books in this genre. <<less

The author flew away to another cosmos and to another earth. The presented narrative and character development is tragic and completely separated from the realities of life. Writing again about a disabled, poor, lonely and a thousand poor characters in such stories is s*upid and pointless. MC is a loner and suddenly a completely unknown girl from the class goes to the apartment of a strange boyfriend. A MIRACLE because a few stains or splashed clothes will never explain such behawior of the girl. Then there are only MIRACLES. The... more>> author surpasses himself in writing s*upidity and idiocy. Like for example. Suddenly everyone interferes in Mc's personal life? For me, asking about private matters by strangers is a ham behawior and no smile or pretty face will cover up the ham. Why does the author make a dumpling out of MC who explains everything. Tragedy rating minus 50. <<less

BORING.

IT'S SO f*ckING BORING!!!!

Yes, I'm being overly dramatic, but I'm being 100% true. Loner guy gets bothered by a standoffish girl, they get together, and various contrived plot devices masquerading as characters are injected to create "drama" for the sake of drama.

Why even create a hardcore loner character if you're not even going to lean into it? No psychological elements at all? No understandable teen angst of being a latchkey kid (a kid who literally grows up alone without parents, so no ability to form long term bonds with people... more>> that can become a problem later in life) ? No exploration of his skepticism of a girl coming extremely strong onto him and wanting nothing to do with her?

It's so f*cking boring. Contrived. Well-trodden.

It's very clear I'm not the target demographic here, even though I honestly thought this started incredibly strong in the first chapter, capturing my attention. But that doesn't mean that this also isn't incredibly f*cking boring. As soon as the mischievous little sister was introduced, I NOP'd right the f*ck out. This kind of sh*t is only acceptable in hentai, which at this point, I'm 100% certain hentai artists create better romance and drama stories than most of the hack writers being shat out of Japan on a near-daily basis.

I wouldn't be so damn pissed if I didn't feel that initial investment and interest in the concept, and character designs, of the characters and story.

Well, at the very least, this author is doing something right and fast tracking this story because long, drawn out slice of life "romcoms" (which often lack the romance and especially the comedy) are not only boring, no one ever brings anything new to the table to actually make it interesting. SoL romcoms are all the god damn same, and this is honestly no different because clearly the author believes that injecting melodrama into this supposed fluffy story is a good thing (it isn't).

I was honestly borderline irate when Yuizaki was pissed at MC (already forgot his name) and then pulls the typical bullsh*t 'hmph! I'm not talking to you' garbage that girls love doing because they are immature and can't handle having a proper dialogue. After this, I didn't even care about the backstory for Yuizaki's misandry (and that's what it is, and the author doesn't have the balls to call it like it is). And there was absolutely NO exploration into MC throwing away her contact info; it was just a thing that was glossed over after she gave him her contact info the second time.

*YAWN* So. F*cking. Boring. <<less

7/10

Tltr:

It's a surprising sweet story, it goes to the point, to the level that it surprised me with how quickly they progresed, that would be the only downside of this fluffy story, the kinda do all the things in a rush, they literally became a couple on their first date, like, you can see, it goes against the usual trope, for good and bad, it also goes against the usual trope of loner becomes leader of the clasroom, he uses his head, and is quite honest, the female lead is... more>> quite interesting, she grows and learns, it's interesting, she is the posesive one in the relathionship.

Good read for what you ask of, a fluff and sligtly more grounded story, but I did think it could had been better if the author took it's time between events, as now? It feels like a story going at double the pace. Not my cup of tea, even tho it makes some interesting plot desitions, but hey. To each their own. I would only say, that even for the pace it has, it can be considered a good story, by the standards of the romantic stories you find here <<less

It's a very standard but also very cute story.

Though it is special in that not only do they start going out quick but they are actually sleeping with each other. Overall just a short very wholesome story.

Two minor complaints would be that he spends to little time with the first friend that he makes and that while the chicks little sister is indeed really cute, they are also genuinely teaching her harmfull as f*ck lessons (as in, that her behaviour as cute as it is as a reader always leads... more>> to success). <<less
