Here my review after read 510 chapter

*reminding there will many mystery that unexplained and doesnt need to explained for Story to process, you can consider that as plot hole or just unimportant

... more>> early story 1-200, the story will/still have strong horor-Game Storywrite, but slowly fade because MC fast Rankup cultivation from game reward after Clearing that very² hard like souls like game difficult but more hard since he need time for week or month to clear it, there will be some heroine appear

200-500 The story will slowly Drop ammount the essence of horor-game in story, but start to Develop the other character interaction since MC become powerful and have Many RL (non game) character Entangled with MC in many problem, and ofcourse more heroine..... are heroine seems like name of weed?

I hope auther still survive from fellow hardline chinese reader, how bold he was to write something like that in qidian 😂👍

This is a cultivation story where the protagonist has a game system that lets him play games that give him benefits in the real world when cleared and appear to affect reality. I'm also a sucker for a bleak horror theme and it's got that going for it too.

Our protagonist Li Muyang is a lowly outer sect disciple in a demonic sect. The previous owner of his body was a naive headstrong angsty youth who left his moderately well-off family to join the sect in a dramatic way. He gains... more>> a game system that lets him play games while still being present in the real world and with time passing. When he completes or progresses the game he gains cultivation rewards based on how well he did in the game. The games tend to be horror-themed and the cultivation world as a result has a similar vibe. There's some overarching mystery elements that I'm also interested to see develop.

Typically he has to spend lots of time trying them over and over as they've all been pretty difficult and obtuse. The games are so far single player; this isn't a Gantz/Terror Infinity style game where lots of people are s**ked into a shared game world to complete scenarios and gain resources in the game. They are also all cultivation themed and seem to take place in the same world that he is in but displaced by space/time. When he completes the games it appears the outcomes affect reality. There's kind of a harem thing going on by impressing female characters in the games (who it appears are real people in the world) and his not biological sister (who seems to have her own protagonist grandma in a ring thing going on) and this girl from his hometown the original owner of the body simped over (who is the green tea type). There hasn't been any actual romance yet but they are generally at least lightly crushing on him.

Our protagonist is mostly sensible and has been trying to keep a low profile. He's not a hot-blooded protagonist type but more the down-to-earth relatable modern sort. To the other sect disciples he's progressed quicker than usual in his cultivation but spends his time mostly by himself and doesn't appear especially competent or ambitious. He basically only puts as much effort is necessary to keep up appearances on his work and spends most of his time playing his system games to gain better resources than he could in the real world.

I was leery when I saw it was translated by Hiraeth as they've put out some real low quality stuff in the past but this is one of the better ones I've read by them. There's typos and other small errors but nothing too terrible or consistent. It's quite readable. <<less

Here is my honest review, this is like the xinxia novel version of RE:ZERO anime where the MC restart every time he is killed and the only different is that he has a system that allows him to save his progress and go back every time he gets killed.

Story: 8/10 - the story so far is easy to understand and there are some parts that are a bit confusing especially in the MTL. And as the story progress there will be mysteries about the system that he is using and... more>> the overall story.

The game actually that the MC plays are from the past which is 1000-10000 yrs before the current timeline of the MC is in and every time the MC finishes a game it can have a major impact on the timeline w/out any time paradoxes

Plot: 9/10 - it is more about the MC grinding back and forth leveling up in game and getting rewards when he finishes it

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT WARNING:

All females standings are based on who has the lead/edge in the story

1. Yan Xiaoru - elder of the Demon Refining Sect and master of Ning Waner. First female MC confessed AFTER the MC transmigration and there was a lowkey +18 chapter where they did the deed and the MC got smoked in bed due to low cultivation level and stamina LOL. She has a cursed bloodline that causes to die early which is why she told the MC she cant have children yet? (Maybe), she also approved the MC to have other wives and have children before her and just become a surrogate mother

2. Fairy Qinghe - not sure if this is the first fairy that the MC met in the story. MC rescued her when she was trapped in her own inner demons caused by the MC due to her falling for him and he saw some illusions where they are married and have children.


3. Fairy Dragon Mist - even tho she is the first female in the game that promised the MC to find him but there was no more updates from her after the MC saving her.
4. Xiao Yecao - the little weed little sister of MC in the game. The MC saved her and changed her fate and overwriting history and now she is waiting for him 10000 yrs later.
5. Shen Yan - the right hand of the master of Blood Lotus Sect. She and the MC has no romantic interests but the author often teases them on some chapters but split up after escaping and has no updates on her till now.
6. Li Yuechan - adopted sister of the MC. She has a secret master and has a unique demonic cultivation technique. She promised the MC she can just become her concubine if MC doesnt marry and also knows the affair of MC & elder yan

Notable females who might like or has a crush on the MC:

Ning Waner - former female love interest of the original Li Muyang but the MC just treats her as a friend

Xiao Miao - deceased twin sister of Shen Yan and calls MC brother in law

Daughter of an immortal dragon - only in the little weed game

Fairy Mo - rival of the owner of Immortal Swan Sword

Bai Jiao - a white dragon that the MC possessed in Tianyuan Continent in a recent new game

Overall I like the story and this is the first novel I have read all the way without dropping since TODAG which is why I have been reading the MTL till now even tho there are some chapters and names of characters, places, cultivation, etc that are confusing in the MTL. Right now I'll just take a timeout reading the MTL due to my busy work sched and im gonna just wait out the translated chapters to better understand the story even if reading it again. <<less

I wanted to like this novel so much. The novel is finished already in it's native language. I read it MTL.

I rated it as 2/5 as I really did enjoy the first few parts of the story. After the Prison Break Arc, everything went downhill. The characters are frustrating which is fine in it's own way as you cannot control the actions of other creatures. The MC however is simply just reactive. He doesn't plan, he just reacts and gets caught flat footed so many times. He waits for games... more>> since it drives the plot forward. He takes little to no initiative to control the situation. The enemies, on the other hand, have plot armor and will always have one ass pull move to make the situation worse. It always gets worse, and worse, and worse. They built up these antagonist which were resolved in one chapter by some other character who is powerful. It's such a cop out.

The author wrote so many plot points and forgot to do anything with them. Treasure Chat group? Wasted opportunity. Dual Cultivator Lead Female? Wasted and unresolved. Dragon Deity Fairy? Forgotten and was not prominent in the story. Buddha Mother and Female Lead's evil mother? Forgotten after 1 story arc. Character cards after each story? Disregarded. Princess of a Lost Kingdom? Wasted.

The whole title was supposed to be a Game with Fairies. MC was supposed to join a game and help fairies. Some Games did not even have these Fairies.

The only character I liked in the story is Miao Fengjun. The author placed him as some evil baddie that he always break the stereotype he implemented to begin with as if it was some sort of on going inside joke for him.

To the future readers? I recommend you not waste your time. The ending was rushed and was not satisfying. <<less
