After possessing the Saintess of the Dead in a fantasy world for decades and returning to the modern world, I discover that more delicious things have appeared in my absence.

For example, Goblin Skull Soup and Orc Pork Belly on a hot plate.

[The story of the cursing Saintess of the Dead doing a hunter broadcast.]

I liked this enough to dive straight into the MTL on cyborg-tl and the quality shines right through.

A quick summary: A Korean gets isekai'd into the corpse of a Saintess during a dungeon outbreak, eventually defeats the Demon Lord with the help of the Hero Party, and eventually returns to Korea 60 years later. Having difficulty adjusting to the world, she livestreams as an undead Lovecraftian Saintess who runs around dungeons finding monsters to cook and consume.

The first arc does a good job of setting up the basic story and... more>> giving you a good idea of what kind of story to expect without going into details of the underlying main plot, so the jump out of in media res is quite smooth and doesn't leave you hanging.

The pacing of the story is quite smooth, alternating between moments of comedy (mostly in the livestreaming sections), trauma, dramatic moments of awesome, trauma, and a dash of romance. Fortunately for all involved, our Saintess believes in happy endings and does her best to achieve them.

The Saintess is very much a pro life character and tries to avoid killing people. This is not a negative, because as she often says, "Death is an escape". You can't torment the dead after all.

In terms of aspects that might turn off readers - as seems to be common in Yuri stories, there's a lack of prominent male characters. Best bro in this story so far is probably Grasshopper chef... No, wait, that's an MTL issue, I'm pretty sure she's female too.

Additionally, vegans may be unhappy with the protagonist's espoused values.

While this series deserves the comedy tag, that's just the top layer over a very serious plotline that has several spoonfuls of trauma added in for bitterness to balance out the sweetness.

I highly recommend this story and give it ten communist Godzilla beams out of ten. <<less

This feels pretty generic. There's that generic returnee/hunter setting, the protagonist is overpowered, he becomes a streamer because there's nothing of substance in the story so the author pads it with the live reactions trope, generic dungeon stuff ensues. Even the mobs cooking stuff is pretty unoriginal.

The notable deviation from the usual is that the protagonist, while still a man originally (why??), gets a girl body that breasts b**bily (tm) when it moves, and has the mentality of a generic big breasted airhead girl too. There's so much focus on... more>> it that one does admire the author for writing one handed. Actually made the story worse as far as I am concerned.

To those who enjoy a comedic hunter broadcast!!! Look no further! I present to you our Saintess-noona!!

Our Main Character is a delight! She's enjoyable on the onset and she banters good with her viewers. Also, her gluttony isn't just there for laughs and a reason for her... peculiar taste for food. There's a reason to it; its entwined heavily to her personality and highlights a psychological undertones to the story. Not sure how much it'll be outlined in the later chapters but it also highlights the morality of our MC.

As... more>> for how overpowered she is? Well, she's definitely one of the most powerful in story, no doubt about it as the one and only Saintess of the Dead. I cannot really judged much about the other characters at this point of the story. But I can say they are enjoyable and aren't flat. Heck, even the regular viewers of her broadcast are colorful. I'll say the broadcast part has similarities with Deep Sea Fish Hunting Specialist, only much lighter undertones.

Lastly... tent**les. <<less

A very good start maketh a returning reader, Shia (MC) is truly the few protagonists that it shows what would happen if a random nameless nobody, is transported in another world in a different gender, the author truly teases the reader to keep reading for the 'first' story of Shia while having the heartthrobbing, unrelenting and gut-busting Antics of the Saintess Of the dead keeps flowing each chapter.

Good Protag-guy-gal, good side characters and with a bit of stale invasion of the world by [insert you headcannon here].

GG I will be... more>> keeping reading untill it's done! <<less

Spoiler

On chapter 70: How convenient that her body suddenly digests things normally instead of just transforming it into energy or holy power. I already disliked the ret*rdation about mental age, but If the author wanted to write about a toddler just make her have severe memory loss already.

[collapse]

Despite the inconsistencies it's still a fairly enjoyable novel. But do beware that the author tends to shift his perspective on his own rules whimsicaly just to fit a scenario which can be somewhat grating.
