Hi~ I have read all the chapters available! Here are my thoughts! :p

(Spoiler free, promise! The tags for this story were lax at best lol)

Well, first things first: the MC and the ML current dynamic is freaking hilarious and really unexpected! Its definitely an 'enemy to lovers' in its purest form lol. Its definitely a 'I hate you.' And a 'I hate you more' dynamic.

The MC is also really unexpectedly good! He definitely is not pulling any punches, calling people out for being a**holes (ML), scamming people (ML)... more>> and pointing out how much certain people suck at anything but PvP (oh... look at that! ML again! Lol)

You may be wondering if the ML deserves all this slander, and I assure you, he absolutely deserves everything that's thrown at him. Like, he really is a piece of work when we first see him. The embodiment of an internet troll, if you will. But he eventually turns into less of a jerk... kinda? Still a teasing a**hole, but not in a malicious way anymore. You grow to either love him, or to love laughing at him. ^^

The story itself is also pretty intriguing! The plot is very well done and the storylines are very realistic! Plus, the background characters make the story very entertaining! :D

THEY'RE SO CUTE

The dynamics and misunderstandings between the 2 is so cute and hilarious. The relationship building including the game scenes are so good too. There was no unnecessary love rival or such esp in a slice of life genre. Srsly a well written fluffy bl novel. Love the main story's ending so much
Spoiler

with the ring and jigu finally found yeowoon's spot during their night (i can consider that their honeymoon lol). The rice scoop (paddle) tho in their supposed 1st night LMAOOOO

[collapse]

The side stories were freaking hilarious too
Spoiler

When Yeowoon thought Jigu had died and hold hand with the body only to find out it's a stranger (that is alive) LMAOOO

Jigu's fountain too when Yeowoon consulting in game lmaoo but it's sweet how Yeowoon wasnt shaming him for it and would love all of his flaws too

[collapse]

Spoiler

I also love the power dynamics. Jigu being that tsun gamer baby obsessive top and Yeowoon being the lead in relationship bottom (power bottom).

[collapse]

I read the whole novel using mtl and surprisingly understandable. (Laughs, finished reading this during valentines.)

I LOVE this story! It's a fun and easy "enemies to lovers x MMORPG" story, except it's pure and light. The MC is fun and cute, and the ML is a total troll you can't help liking. I hope the translators don't drop the novel. I adore the story and really want to watch their relationship blossom, y'know?

I find it hard to find good MMORPG-style BLs that don't use catfishing tropes or "I stalked you and found your address IRL" scenarios, so it made me really happy to read this.... more>> Plus, it's nice that the MC's world in-game and IRL don't revolve entirely around the ML. Like, he actually talks and becomes friends with other members of the guild, and he has his IRL friend he actually chats with frequently. It makes the relationship actually feel like it's two people who play the same game slowly getting to know each other.

It's a wonderful read, one I'd highly recommend. <<less

It's fun and heart warming ''enemies to lovers'' slow-burn story.

The ML is an absolute troll in game and you might find him little obnoxious at first but I assure you that you'll totally come to adore him. He's the cutest tsundere baby top ever hehe. He has a large intimidating build but he's rather bashful and gets embarrassed or scared easily. His thinking process is also not quite ordinary as ML's mind continuously creates hilarious misunderstandings of MC (tbf some of MC's actions can seem rather misleading).

MC is more mature... more>> and calm. He's very friendly but he can also get awkward when trying to socialize. Because he sometimes treats others overly familiarly, he unknowingly seduces them (yes, ML also becomes one of the victims who come to question their sexuality bahaha).

The dynamic between them is very refreshing. I had a smile on throughout the story. The only thing that slightly frustrated me was when - in the middle of the story - we got almost a whole recount from the other person's pov. Don't take me wrong, I enjoyed seeing different perspectives from both parties but it felt a teensy bit draggy. I just wanted to get to the present story timeline asap. <<less

This is one of those slow-paced stories where it takes a while for every misunderstanding to be settled. But all the misunderstandings are hilarious so it's fine kekeke. I love the dynamic of Calm/Mature/Older Bottom x Rude/Immature/Pure Top.

Without much spoilers, I just have to say the smut in the end made me laugh so much. I've never laughed that much before, during and after an r19 scene.

I made an NU account just to write this review. I’ve reread the novel a bunch of times already since last year since it’s just that good!

Light hearted, miscommunications are absolute comedy, Jigu’s “gap moe” is everything, Neu’s writing is very true to an Asian working young man conforming to society. It has the right balance of realism and fantasy and the use of their in-game shenanigans was so well done!

Out of all BL novels I’ve read, this has to be my favorite. Jigu and Neu were written so well... more>> and while all the coincidences can be called unbelievable, it’s not impossible and that’s what makes it so fun.

If you’re looking for a light hearted read with some cute papapa scenes at the end, this one’s for you! If you’re looking for something to read on a random Tuesday afternoon, please pick this up! If you’re loo-

TLDR: Please read it, it’s the best thing ever and I can’t even put my love for it into words! <<less

A really funny and easy read, with a fuzzy slow burn romance and the characters consistent with their personalities and their gamer mentalities. MC is an easygoing, mature guy, but he's kinda ditzy in a way he's kind to everyone but tends to lack the awareness about how he's basically a living tease (a friend of him even told him he's playing a real life dating sim because he raises favorability even without trying hahah). Meanwhile, ML is a gamer through and through---an overthinker and an introvert that blushes at... more>> almost every moment he thinks MC is being a pe*vert.

What I love here is how the games, Illusion and Little Forest 2, are relevant to the entire story, not just an excuse to connect the characters, only to later take the backstage. One could see how friendship and relationships are formed in the games throughout the story. Trolls, alts, buying skins, bugs, concepts that IRL gamers can relate to.

As for the romance part, the story is full of misunderstandings (like half the story), and it's done in a good way, as there is an obvious gap between MC's and ML's maturity levels.

If one is asking if there is s*x, there is! There's even a bd*m (attempt, and it's a funny way to be introduced to the lifestyle)

Spoiler

There are 19+ scenes near the end, and the first attempt was so awkward but relatable hahah They are each other's firsts, so it makes sense. Though rather than h**ny, the chapters were equally embarrassing, hilarious and warm

[collapse]

All in all, it's decent read. Not the best, but definitely enjoyable. <<less

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. I've been trying to find some novels like this one. This is so so adorable, funny and easy to read. The drama is not some toxic or too dramatic, it's mainly just misunderstanding lol. Their personality is so cute!

This was a very wholesome and lighthearted read. Whilst I usually find myself becoming disinterested in stories focussed around gaming, that was not the case in this novel since the funny interactions between the characters was highly engaged. The balance between online and offline interactions within the story was also refreshing in that regard. I absolutely recommend this novel with all of my heart - I just love these silly little guys

I don't know why people give this book such low ratings. It's so funny! It has a lot of misunderstandings, I know, but they're so funny 😭. MC and ML are green flags, though they do have their dumb and dumber moments (I love them). MC is kind and friendly in the game and in real life, while ML is reserved and scary in real life, but in the game he's loud, rebellious, and tr*sh-talks. Together they make quite an interesting couple as they get to know each other and... more>> get closer in the game and in real life. It's such a fun and fluffy read that I personally recommend giving it a shot! ^^ <<less

I love this series! It's slow burn, but very funny! The top is just my type in that he acts like a smug bastard online, yet is such a disaster irl. I cannot help but want to cheer him on.

Im eagerly awaiting updates!

I love tropes like this so much. I really enjoyed both of the characters personalities and interactions. The misunderstandings gave me second hand embarassment, but it was a fun read!

Usually I dislike misunderstanding between MC and ML because it's stressing me out, but this series managed to turn it into something funny and hilarious to the point of giving me the secondhand embarrassment (I'm looking at you, jigu). Also, as a gamer myself, it's really fun to read this novel because it shows so much in-game content & conversations. The comedy is top-notch, and the plot is not heavy so this is truly a great series for you who want to take a breath from those toxic series (LoL).

Love... more>> the dynamics between MC and ML so much! It's always a bonus for me whenever I found younger!top and older!bot, a funny and wholesome one on top of that. The manhwa is also very good! Even though it's not as detailed as the novel (since we got a lot of in-game conversations in the novel), but it's still very entertaining and the artstyle is very pretty too! <<less

Light and fun. I really like how they write the MMORPG here; the community feels alive and I love the warm guild atmosphere! There's a tendency to neglect the game side when its a BL but thankfully the author seems like an online game addict (hahaha). The main character is also a very calm and mature character, ML bounces off him well so its very charming even when there's misunderstandings.

I don't have much else to say that hasn't been said yet. But read it if you want something lighthearted, cheesy... more>> and game-esque haha <<less

The story is very sweet and the MC and ML are funny. I do think the novel focuses more on the game, but it is important for the development of their relationship. The ending was fine, but it wasn’t satisfying imo. It felt a bit rushed. I would’ve like to see their relationship developing more through the series in person, than in just game.

This is totally biased because it's my favourite bl novel from a Korean author, but it is so for a reason, and my taste is literally peak, so you should consider reading it too.

I absolutely loved the humor and characters, also I'm big on internet slang and anything related to games, so this novel was destined to by my favourite one.

The slow burn slowly burned me too as I read, in a good way. Right after finishing this one, I went to read the author's other stories (which are really... more>> underrated) and I feel in love...... HoneyTrap, I want to kiss your forehead and hug you, I love them and their works.

I actually want this novel to blow up because I would sell my soul to have it officially translated... Some fanfiction would be nice too....

YJG is a boy failure and LYW is kinda freaky but I still love them with my whole hear.

TLDR:

I'm obsessed, and you should read it to be too. (This turned out like a rant I'm sorry) <<less

It's a fun novel, with a very cute romance later on and incredible chemistry between the couple. The side characters are also fun and interact well with each other. I never thought I would laugh so much with misunderstandings before reading this novel.

Definitely my favorite among the funny heartwarming novels I've read.

Spoilers between tags

  • MC, ML and Main Couple:
The MC (Yeo Woon) and the ML (Yoon Ji gu) couldn't be more different. While our Ji gu is dramatic, shy and a bit socially awkward (in person), our Yeo Woon is outgoing, teaser and nonchalant in most situations. This personality conflict creates many funny moments throughout the novel, especially when we read from Ji gu's point of view.

Spoiler

When he recounts his point of view from their first encounters, it's simply hilarious to see how badly he interpreted our Yeo Woon.

[collapse]

  • Romance:
It's a very slow burn romance. The real feelings only start to appear halfway through the novel.

Spoiler

And in Yeo Woon's case, only in the last 20 chapters.

[collapse]

When I read the reviews talking about a lot of misunderstandings, I confess that I was worried, but the misunderstandings that happen serve more as comedy than as ways to actually mess up the relationship, so there aren't those annoying misunderstandings (like, the ones where one hurts the other without knowing it, then they ignore each other, and it takes half the novel to realize that if they had communicated properly nothing would have happened), thank goodness.

Spoiler

I liked that Yeo Woon took a while to reciprocate Ji Gu's feelings. Before he realized that Ji Gu liked him, he had affection, but not love. So he spent time with him to reject him and that's when he started to get more attached. So he started thinking "what if?", but he didn't reciprocate 100% so as not to risk hurting Ji Gu. Only when he was 100% sure did he reciprocate.

And I love that he told him all this, instead of secretly distancing himself to analyze his feelings (it's totally not a trauma of mine lol). It can be a bit unpleasant to keep giving someone hope without reciprocating anything, but I think it's much better than lying that you don't feel anything and hurting them unnecessarily.

Communication is the key guys ;D

And the thing about him waiting for him to confess before rejecting him so as not to seem weird, and on top of that wanting him (and at the same time not) to confess as soon as possible was very relatable. I went through this once and felt exactly the same way lol. This conflict between "let's end it once and for all" and "let's keep it this way forever" is really a horrible dilemma.

[collapse]

  • Comedy and the misunderstandings:
Well, this is the focus of the novel, so it's obviously the most prevalent element. Ji Gu's misjudgment of Yeo Woon since their first meeting is the foundation for lot of laughs in the future. It's really funny to see Yeo Woon's real intentions and then how Ji Gu completely misinterpreted them. Sometimes you feel like banging your head against the wall, but I've read more embarrassing things, so it's bearable.

And it's really cool that these misunderstandings aren't forced. From their POVs, we can clearly see why they came to such different conclusions.

Spoiler

The two of them thinking that dominance play was each other's kink, resulting in a super weird and embarrassing smut scene LOL I almost died along with Ji Gu.

And my heart broke every time Ji Gu was happy thinking about how much Yeo Woon loved him when in reality he was doing everything to reject him. He's such a pure baby T^T

And my god, I felt so embarrassed of Ji Gu showing his love for Yeo Woon so openly, thinking that this would make him confess his feelings to him. I could imagine him staring deep into Yeo Woon's soul like a creepy entity bwahahaha.

[collapse]

  • Side characters:
They don't appear that much, especially in the second half of the novel, when we start to have more offline interactions between MC and ML than online, but they are fun and very charismatic. In the end, they fulfill their roles very well.

The interactions between the guild members made me feel like I was in a real circle of online friends. And Yeo Woon's two friends really act like long-time friends, without all that clinginess of "oh bestie >.<" that usually becomes artificial in stories. It was very refreshing.

--

The only thing I would complain about is the beginning. Up until about 30 chapters, the interactions are pretty much limited to online interactions. It was cool to see how the MC met the guild, the evolution of the relationship with Earth Star, and some of the dynamics between the Illusion players. But I think it was way too much focused on the game itself. Like, too much detail for something that wouldn't be the focus of the novel after a while. The first forum talks were kind of boring since we had almost no idea what was going on and they took up entire chapters. It was a bit draggy. But in about 30+ chapters, the novel achieves a good balance between the game and real life.

Apart from that, I have no other complaints regarding this novel.

Anyway, it's a short, fast-paced, and simple novel. I highly recommend it for those who want to take a break from dramatic and angsty novels. <<less

THIS ONE IS SO SO SO GOOD !

I absolutely loved this and I don't remember how many time I reread this. The kinda slow-burn romance was done so well—it kept me hooked without feeling dragged out. The secondhand embarrassment in this novel is just right—not cringeworthy, but enough to make me burst out laughing at the ridiculous situations.

The ML is hilariously delusional, s*upid in the best way, and incredibly possessive. His over-the-top antics had me entertained the entire time. Meanwhile, the MC is such a breath of fresh air—strong, easygoing,... more>> and completely unfazed by the chaos around him. His nonchalant attitude makes every interaction between them even funnier.

If you love a mix of comedy, romance, and a totally dramatic ML, this novel is a must-read! <<less

I really loved this a lot! The art style of the manhwa was so cute it drew me in and I had to continue reading the novel to see them get together! My impatience had me reading the MTL to finish it but I definitely want to reread it when the translations get a bit further.

I love a younger top and the ML is so cute (and pure haha) ! His dynamic with the MC is very entertaining and develops sweetly, even though I'm not usually a fan of ongoing... more>> misunderstandings. This was a really nice read, lighthearted and fluffy, definitely made me smile and laugh a lot! And the side stories were so good too!!

Also the in-game interactions are actually significant beyond just setting up the premise which I really liked. If you enjoy the story I absolutely recommend the manhwa too! <<less
