Around volume 6, an evil god possesses a recently arrived priest in the protags home town. The protag, as is standard, approaches the issue with small preventative steps and sort of succeeds in getting the priest to handle the possession himself without the protag stepping in, but ultimately results in an assimilation of the priest's personality and the resulting "cleansed" evil god who is now basically a representative of the Yggdrasil that manages the world.

That new priest being, now part spirit and knowing all about the protagonists power, begs her to become a god to lead the people in preparation for a future impending calamity. The protagonist, ever the believer in non-interference and enjoying her mundane life, naturally refuses. This results in the priest resorting to desperate measures and inciting evil gods (which should be noted to just be spirits that don't mind human casualties) to cause 8 or so natural disasters simultaneously across the world, effectively a test of humanity calling out the protagonists belief that humanity can whether things on their own.

The protagonist proceeds to establish contact with various parties throughout her past both recent and distant to give them general advice about the situation and how to safely go about fighting the evil gods (again, effectively rogue spirits). Ultimately, every disaster is successfully pacified after a few paragraphs of prep dialogue for each location, culminating in a last convo between the priest and protag, where protag says that if the world really needs a god to save everyone, one will appear; she is nothing but a being who arrived in the world by mistake, alluding to the whole reincarnation thing from the very beginning of the story.
