Mu Liuyin was accidentally bound to the “Perfect Life System,” which was originally designed for a male host. Due to a system error, the binding couldn’t be changed, leaving the system with no choice but to take Mu Liuyin’s soul through different worlds—where she would always end up as the male lead, the male supporting character, a disposable extra, or even just a background character. In short, she will always be reincarnated as a man.

The real tragedy? Even as a man, she still ended up being dominated by women.

Mu Liuyin: This makes no sense!

Weren’t these supposed to be helpless, pitiful targets in need of her assistance?! Why was every single one of them overpowering her instead?!

This needs the GL Yuri tag, cuz that's essentially what this is. Not sure if it's the translation or the way the author actually wrote it but the MC is like never referred to using he/him pronouns. Maybe they attempted in the beginning but half the time she is literally referred to as a girl and it basically defeats the purpose of her being a man loool.

That aside, this novel made me feel so many things. I wanted to quit so many times but continued because I wanted to see... more>> it to the end. It was like taking drugs. I'd finish an arc and be like no more, and then continue on like a madman.

Anyway, spoilers ahead.

Let's first talk about the arcs. Literally every arc has a 'bad' ending even though she only fails one mission arc.

Spoiler

she fails the demon arc but doesn't restart because the the FL regains her memories and basically ends the arc.

[collapse]

The last arc is not really a bad ending though (i didn't finish cuz I had to take a break and write a review lol..). The MC is finally figuring out the truth and somewhat accepts the fl's feelings. Even though it doesn't feel very satisfactory. (Just felt a little shallow).

Each arcs have interesting premises but they aren't really fleshed out, I would blame this on it being QT except some things mentioned just never get closure.

Spoiler

Fpr example, in the interstellararc the MC is a male omega (the FL is a female alpha). I was so excited for yhis because I don'tthink I've ever read this combo. The author literally does nothing with it. FL spends the entire arc believing the MC is a fellow alpha because she had the system mask her scent....

Literally the omega part never comes into play. I was so mad TT. The MC even goes into heat at one point but that was so short and completely irrelevant almost (the FL sexually assaults her but doesn'tgo all the way)

[collapse]

Also, the MC always dies at the end when her mission completes leaving the FL heartbroken and alone.....

Spoiler

also the MC drinks a potion at the end to wipe away her emotions from the precious arc. Not that it helps much

[collapse]

Next, the s*xual assault tag. Literally almost every arc has this.

Spoiler

There is like not a single arc where the FL does not push down the MC. And remember the MC is a male but the FL always goes for the bottom hole.... and MC begs her to stop every time.... the only arc I think that doesn't have it is also the one arc she fails??? The immortal/demon arc? (I might have to go reread this cuz I think I'm mis remembering the ending.

The interstellar omega arc has it but the FL isn'table to go all the way if I remember correctly. Hence why she never finds out the MC is an omega

[collapse]

When you think an arc is gonna end without it, it pops up and you get so uncomfortable. It's not deeply described, but it is very clear what is going on =_=

Third, the FL is nuts. I really liked the obsession factor but she couldn't end an arc without pushing down the MC and seemed to be obsessed with what I mentioned in an earlier spoiler.... like at first the MC had a hard time getting it up because she wasn't attracted to women

Spoiler

But it's later implied she no longer has this problem. Yet in every arc she (a man mind you) was forced to do an*l when she didn't want to......

[collapse]

Next, I have so many issues with the MC. But I have two main ones. First, the way she acted with the FL every arc after the first one drove me insane. That's it. Second, the MC might as well not have been a man in this. I swear the only reason they made her a man in the world's was to make it easier for the FL to be with her? But even that was pointless
Spoiler

because she always pushed the FL away anyway....

[collapse]

In the stories defense, the MC never really saw herself as a man, but it still made the narrative so awkward trying to figure out she/he/they of it all.

I don't usually read GL so I felt this would be an interesting introduction into something that wasn't exactly gl since she was a male in the worlds.... but again, was the man in the room with us??? Looool. I mean I accomplished my goal and read what was basically a GL story mascarading as BG but feeling like BL.

Yes, I wrote that. And if you read, you'll hundred percent get what I'm talking about. Part of the issue may have been the translation (I mtl'd the ending btw), but I really feel like the author just doesn't understand what they were trying to write.

Another issue I had was with this story in general is that it suffered from the same issue a lot of bl has... the straight character forced gay complex. The I'm not gay but this one character is turning me gay. Mind you the MC is very averse to being gay in the beginning of the story. Even towards the end she still has hang ups TT. And she is a man in like all the worlds (but she might as well have not been one).

The FL is basically the overbearing ML trope, especially when she's assaulting the MC.

Overall this story left me very drained and I should have quit instead of trying to continue reading it, but each arc was so interesting and I like obsessive elements in my romance stories.... Though honestly was this romance or was this Stockholm syndrome... who knows.

There is so much more I want to say but I'll leave it here for now. I won't rate right now as I need time to really consolidate this as I read it on and off then decided to finish it in one sitting and am currently frustrated.

(I'll be honest I really only clicked cuz I wanted to see a male MC world hop with only one FL in mind but realized that's not really what this was. So I continued cuz I wanted to dip my toes into gl but was so put off half the time that I didn't know what to feel. <<less
