I'll start off by saying that I really hope this is picked up! The plot is promising and the reviews (on ridi) are surprisingly very positive. I really haven't read enough to rate this, but I'm not sure why it's rated so low on NU : (

I really can't say exactly what this book is about 14 chapters in, because it seems that we learn along with the MC about the world she's in. Chapter 9 is where the description is "name dropped" and we start going from there.

MC falls into an acute crack with her mother and there are tons of dangerous monsters, killing nearly everyone in the crack. MC sacrifices herself to save her mother (prologue), but ends up surviving and awakening. The description refers to MC's aspiration to become a hunter to protect her mom, but when she does awaken during the crack, MC ends up being one of the only survivors. The MC did survive with a child, but her mom died.

From my gathering and the reviews on ridi, it seems to be a novel that's focused on the MC's growth, as well as the relationships she develops during her time as a hunter. There's no system or any game elements, just an awakening power in a dystopia that explores the meaning of human life.

It circles around surviving and rescue, while also exploring the philosophy of humanity. In other words, it's a realistic fantasy novel.

Also, it seems like there is some romance, but the focus is not the MC.

title gets name dropped as the very last sentence of the novel (huge power move by the author imo). I did skip around and read parts of the end, so I've figured out that the title is quite sad/bittersweet, as silly as it sounds.
