I loved this story. I had heart for the real hard hitting harem stories but I much prefer stories like these ones now.

MC faced set backs but nothing too life threatening so she wasn’t a Mary sue. ML was a 1 in a kind good father type of emperor so a rare find.

I do feel kinda bad for the 3rd prince since it was mostly due to his moms instigation and poor raising that his personality wasn’t better managed.

I'm surprised there aren't any reviews yet! The storyline is fantastic. I just finished the first book and am already onto the second. Ye Yun, the female lead, is from the future (though that hasn't been revealed yet), and the male lead is a young, handsome emperor with a realistic portrayal of palace dynamics. The romance develops really well. My only complaint is that many of the concubines have multiple nicknames, and with their frequent promotions, it gets confusing to keep track of who's who. But overall, I love it!... more>> If you're into historical romantic harem dramas, this is a must-read.

P.S. I am at my third book now... it's really amazing.. do give a chance <<less

Man I don't leave many reviews but this one I read in a few days. It's really good and the mentality of the FL is one I admire very much, I disliked the villains a lot but I take that as a good thing, since the author can make me dislike a char is a good thing, I did roll my eyes a few time with how s*upid people acted. Then again if I would end up in such a setting I die within a day hahaha. The one thing... more>> I would have like to know is more background on who the FL was before, even in the the extras it did not went deeper. Overall it's a 5 star. Great translation as well! All read very smoothly <<less

Really glad I found this gem, it was a really good novel. The harem intrigue was very interesting and I loved that the MC kept to her beliefs and boundaries. The author portrayed the ML's gradual love for the MC really well and I enjoyed the journey that the whole family went through. Loved that I was able to read about their life from beginning to end.

The extras left me in tears and it made me want to leave a review.

If this kind of novel is your vibe, where the protagonist is in the harem and have no choice but to scheme her way to live a nice life, read this. It's a nice novel of that genre and it entertained me throughout the novel.

The names/titles can get confusing but just try to remember which is which and what title are bestowed to them.

I quite like the protagonist's character as she's a flexible person and bears... more>> grudge. Although, I felt like she mellowed out when she got a child as some of the revenge didn't really got me.

Overall, I recommend it. <<less

I was really surprised by this story—in a good way.

I took a long time to start it because I always found the first few chapters boring. The beginning doesn’t feel true to the historical period, and the FL doesn’t act like someone from that era—especially in how she interacts with the emperor. I’m not sure if it was the translator or the author, but there are often inconsistencies between the dialogue and the context. That really irritated me.

But since the story is long, I gave it a 10% chance—and by... more>> the time I reached chapter 45, I couldn’t stop reading. Once the ML starts noticing the FL, the story gets exciting.

Because it focuses on the emperor’s harem, we see lots of palace intrigue, schemes, and tricks to gain favor. There are people already in love, and others who fall in love. The best part for me was the emperor’s love for his children. I found the way the kids were portrayed and how they interacted in the story to be very touching.

We follow the lives of all the children—even the dog. Each of them gets a happy ending. In the extras, there’s a chapter for each of them, from beginning to end, with a focus on their love lives. It’s beautiful, and I cried a lot. It was a lovely farewell.

The FL is... perfect. She’s funny, cute, principled, easy to relate to, and can even be an inspiration for those wanting to be more kind and graceful. Her interactions with the ML, the way she’s dominant and possessive with him, the way she tests his limits—it’s all so satisfying. Our hearts are slowly stolen, right along with the emperor’s.

The emperor is quite different from the others I’ve read. He’s kind, innocent, and very passive. Since he wasn’t raised to be emperor, his personality—lacking confidence yet full of trust—makes perfect sense. He grows a lot throughout the story and becomes the ideal husband. Yes, the harem still exists, but by the end of the story, he no longer visits it. They’re together—and will be, for all their lives.

I highly recommend this story for those who want something sweet: romantic relationships, sibling bonds, and master/servant loyalty.

For those who love palace drama: lots of face-slapping, scheming, clever minds, and not-so-clever ones.

And for anyone who just wants to spend time following the life of a very cute royal family, unlike any other.

I really enjoyed it and finished it in just 3 days. It’s actually a short read, despite the large number of chapters. <<less

This was a really enjoyable novel. It falls short of 5* but a really strong 4.

The writing is great and the tl only has an occasional mistake. All the ch are tled but only a small portion is linked to NU, they're all there so for people who only read completed novels, this is not ongoing and marked incorrectly it's just not linked here in it's entirety.

The plot revolves around the rise of a military official's daughter, from an unfavored concubine and into the solely favored empress of a young... more>> emperor. As the ch progress we come to realize she has actually reincarnated into this ancient world,

and one of the concubines has regressed, and here is one of blurry aspects of novel, I'm not sure if it's the tl or what, but at first it's hard to tell who exactly regressed between these 2 side characters, or if both of them did, between a cousin of one of the idle princes and one of the concubines with a common background.

There's also the issue of the concubines that followed the MC just vanishing from the plot, except the highly ranked one who basically took care of MC's administrative work.

I really love this novel; it has quickly become one of my all-time favorites. At first, I wasn’t too fond of the male lead. I think part of it was because I couldn’t wrap my head around the idea of him having so many wives—it felt so foreign to me. But as I kept reading, I came to realize that the story takes place in a completely different era, where things like that were more common, and I began to understand his character better. Despite my initial reservations, I ended... more>> up really warming up to him and appreciating the complexity of his relationships.

One of the most emotional moments for me was definitely when the dog died. I honestly couldn’t hold back my tears. That scene was so raw and heartbreaking—probably the most heart-wrenching part of the whole book for me. It’s amazing how much emotion a single scene can evoke.

For me, very good, very good, and very good. Similar to The Job of an Imperial Concubine, but also different, because this one has found love.

The ML here was a bit naive although he was scheming, he has bottom line.

Just read this guys, it is reaally good for me.

I don't usually write reviews but I felt I needed to make sure people felt safe reading this wonderful story. I always feel nervous when starting a story and I hope this helps those who want to read it:

The ending is happy. There are no difficult misunderstandings between the main couple. ML is the emperor and so he doesn't trust FL for a while but he always gives her the chance to defend herself from the harem's intrigues. Eventually he trusts her; I would say he is a fair emperor.... more>> FL is from the future but this is almost never relevant and is almost never mentioned.

She becomes Empress in the last chapters and the emperor's harem becomes a decoration since he no longer sleeps with other women (this happens even before she becomes Empress), but for much of the novel he sleeps with consorts to have several children (he doesn't have more than 10 kids tho). If you want to read about an ML emperor you must be prepared to read about the references to him sleeping with other women and having children with other women. Of course, even during this FL is his favorite and he prefers the children she gave him, but he does not neglect his other children.
