After losing his mother, John followed his father, whom he had just met, and moved to England. There, he met an angel who shook his life. It was his half-brother Valentine, who he didn’t even know existed.

Valentine had cleverly trapped John, dominating his world, taming him every night with his arms.

As time passes, the relationship between the two becomes much closer, and Valentine’s obsession with John reaches unsuspected extremes.

If you like obsessive male leads... I guess this is for you. This story does feel like it leans more towards tragedy than love. Some people are annoyed by johns self victimizing, but I wasnt. What he went through wasnt something small and I actually like how heavy the trauma was portrayed on Johns side, you can almost say it was dramatic, but I liked that. Author never brushed of the cause of his trauma and its sorta the main thing of this story.

Its written well, or maybe the translator... more>> just did a good job (❤️). I do have to say after the time skip the story became slow-like a slow tragedy.

Honestly I wouldve liked it more if it wasnt so cliche... I love a cliche story if its written well, but this cliche is a bit unbearable. The conflict was so dragged on, only for it to end in a such disappointing way.

The conflict finisher was super cliche. They just HAPPEN to trigger Johns trauma in a cliche kidnapping story, and then BOOM male lead saves the day. All that made John suddenly feel thankful for valentine. Its just so clear that this conflict was set up for the sake of them reconciling, it doesnt feel natural for them to reconcile this way. Ik the author is trying to make male lead acceptable but I hate it the most when they do it this way. The situation was just so convenient for the plot.

But overall I do like how author describes the character’s feelings. It genuinely seemed like they were struggling and that made this a heavy read... And the writing style eventually becomes more descriptive, so if you skip a lot of scenes, it wont even matter cause technically nothing was really happening. Overall it became slow. But idk, its not the greatest, but I did feel a lot of pity for John. Am I attached? not really, their love wasnt the most heart touching thing anyways.. <<less

In order to enjoy this novel, you have to be in the right mood and mindset. You have to take note of the tags! They're there for a reason.

So in other words, I delved into it fully prepared, and as a result, I enjoyed it more than the reviewers here who gave it low and incredibly angry reviews. I knew Valentine was extremely obsessive. I knew there was going to be r*pe.

Though I didn't really expect that one of John's supposed friends would try to r*pe him. That was the most shocking to me. I really wanted him to die, but lol. Of course he was going to live and exact revenge as added plot device.

I didn't enjoy the r*pe scenes (who tf does lol), but I did enjoy the drama between Valentine and John.

Especially during the confinement part. The second confinement to be exact. I enjoyed all that. I wish it were longer lol.

Aside from the roller coaster of thoughts and emotions in John's mind, I wish we had more of an insight into Valentine's insane obsessive mind. One reviewer pointed out that his personality was nothing except him being obsessed with John and I'm inclined to agree, because we have limited access to his thoughts. Having more of his POV would have been nice.

his unrequited love. If John had accepted his feelings I wonder how the story would have gone. Or maybe he would have died because, Valentine lol. I feel sad for him, but such is the fate of a 2nd ML lol.

I think it's just right to describe the relationship between the two leads as a spiraling roller coaster leading to hell lol. As long as they're happy, that's what matters, right?

Anyway, giving this a 4/5 or 8/10 because I enjoyed it, it was entertaining. Even though I had a lot to say while I was reading it lol. It's not too bad, but not something I'll ever re-read again. <<less

This story was all over the place, it feels like the author was struggling to show their moral standing and it was unconvincing, because it looked like they were trying to tell us what to feel and who to be angry at it was rather irksome. It's everything it says in the tags, no spoilers here.

I love a ML slow-boiling an MC, especially how they just "started" with kissing. Love it! Obsessive MLs hell yea!

But, gradually, I think the author's writing style became very, slow? Laid-back?

Either way, it started to feel like a struggle to finish each chapter. It felt like nothing was happening even when something was happening?

Short periods of drama with long periods of nothing, but in a very boring way.

It was good but honestly way too much drama even at the end and sometimes unnecessary drama that could be resoled way better by just talking about it before. The love felt 90% of the novel only from the ML to the MC and it was truly uncomfortable.

I have a love hate relationship with this novel because I feel so sorry and bad for the MC and at the same time I feel conflicted about the ML. I can't exactly hate him even though I know what he did was absolutely terrifying, disappointing and disgusting to the MC.

The one I truly hate and I think deserves all the hate is the MCs father. He literally John more miserable with everything that happened and it was just so infuriating and heartbreaking at the same time.

It's actually a very... more>> well written tragedy with r*pe and inc*st and I loved the wife chasing at the end and it made me feel really bad for the ML. Al the same time the author really made the MC life so exhausting and miserable, it didn't help matters with the plot. But, SURPRISINGLY I really liked this story, which is a first. <<less

Yeah crazy ML. I was curious enough to buy the original Korean 4 volumes directly from Ridi... then I guess I was crazy as well... into crazy obsessive ML haha! While waiting for previous rare updates, I manage to "read" one volume with Google Translate Photo but was out of patience after a while. Lately the translated chapters were updated more frequently, I'm so happy!

Update: Well starting from about 2/3, my interest started to decline bit by bit. It felt to me as if the writer lacked ideas or was... more>> unmotivated (compared to the start) to complete the plots and to deeply resolve issues between characters. Maybe I expected more because I was way enthusiastic at the beginning... therefore I was a bit deceived. The ending is not bad...I just felt that the novel 1/3 last part is just okay. <<less
