On the way to the youngest sibling’s academy entrance ceremony, a carriage accident kills all the older siblings. What is the appropriate action for the lone surviving sibling to take?

1. Cry their eyes out.

2. Build a grave.

The correct answer is…

‘3. Bring them back as zombies.’

* * *

“To put it simply, your current state is… kind of like a zombie.”

It was, quite literally, a bombshell.

“…A zombie?”

“Yeah.”

“You mean, like, Grrraaaghh, biting people and… spreading infection when you bite someone?”

“They’re more zombie-like than actual zombies.”

At my gentle explanation, Yullia was struck speechless. Understandable, really.

It was already ridiculous enough that she’d died and come back to life after the carriage overturned. But now she was being told she was a zombie?

No—not even a zombie, but something zombie-like?

“I didn’t have a choice. It would’ve been better if I could’ve asked for your consent, but you were all already dead. I’m sorry for turning you into zombies without permission.”

“That’s not even the problem here!”

* * *

I had no other choice. I had the power to bring them back.

The problem was, necromancers were enemies of the entire continent—and if discovered, everyone connected to one would be sentenced to death.

“As long as no one finds out, it’ll be fine!”

…Or so I thought.

“You have the ability to sense necromancy, don’t you?”

Says the crown prince, who asks for help in hunting necromancers.

“You keep avoiding me. Like you’re hiding something.”

Says the too-smooth saint who keeps getting closer and closer to me.

“How did you do it? I definitely killed them all.”

Says a mysterious, suspicious man who has no business being this unsettling.

Can I please just live quietly like a mouse?!

I thought this could have been a great novel. The premise was intriguing: a young lady resurrects her siblings as zombies, and they must hide this secret for years or she could die. Of course, being zombies, a few wrists might go missing along the way xD

It definitely leans into a comedic tone.

But the ending... sigh...

Spoiler

Much like Rachel Zegler in Snow White, the FL delivers a pretty speech and, just like that, the kingdom is saved. Everyone tears up, accepts her points, and the kingdom suddenly becomes more open-minded toward dark mages. One speech is all it takes for the judge to declare that her testimony has challenged fundamental assumptions and given them much to reflect on. L-O-L.

Then the FL is carried into the light by the ML, telling the readers, "This story will conclude with a happy ending." 'cause readers are too s*upid to guess? Why did the author feel the need to state the obvious?

Ah, wondering who the ML is? No surprise here. Once again, it's the black-haired, red-eyed guy. Because apparently, a FL choosing a less obvious love interest or one of her sub-MLs is unthinkable. Heaven forbid a sub-ML ever stands a real chance...

Anyway, if you're in the mood for a story like the Snow White remake, where the FL transforms the kingdom through a speech that would only resonate with middle schoolers, this one's for you. If you're also up for yet another tale where the FL picks the most predictable ML imaginable, this is right up your alley.
