I don't understand. The ML is a d*ck to the MC but she just takes it. The plot also moves randomly and she decides the opposite of how she was feeling in an instant. One second she hates him and the next she's been enjoying working on a project with him. Its like, what happened to make her like him? Its terribly written so I honestly don't understand where these 5 stars are coming from. Also there is no conflict in the story. I can't say the novel is for everyone, but if you're a curious one (like I am) and are interested in the two main leads with a personality that is more than meets the eye, then I definitely recommend this. I've only read 12 chapters so far, but I've thoroughly enjoyed it. And...... more>>

Chapter 12 has made me hate the male lead less. I can handle the arrogant part, but not the playboy part so I'm happy to find that all of his girlfriends had broken up with him since, he (I presume) probably has trust and money and family issues, etc.

Those who rated it low did not read the novel completely. Sigh, never trust those who judge the story early and not even try to understand the characters.

Li Xun is a complex character, he went through his sh*t since childhood to turn into what he is in the story. Though he acts tough, he is actually just protecting himself from the cruel reality. I'm sorry if you can not understand that. You just need to grow up for that.

This novel is honestly extremely average and I still would have given it around 3.5 stars, but the reason my rating is so low is because of 2 incidences that took place in the novel

1. When FL picked up courage and confessed to the ML, do you know what he said or what his reaction was??? He took her to a hotel...... and proceeded to have his way with her.

Like before this they never even held hands and here he proceeds to have s*x with a virg*n without even getting... more>> her prepared. Like any other person she was nervous and when he proceeds to grab her waist in her nervousness she bats his hand away....... and he gets angry. Like hell he has the right to get angry!!!FL has zero experience and he starts doing that with her ofcourse she would be nervous. Then she explains something to him but in the end they still end up having s*x. And FL said in her monologue that he wasn't gentle either..... like WTF. He is experienced she isn't...... he could atleast be gentle with her.

2. After he was released from jail he by coincidence happens to see FL laughing with a man and he immediately thinks that she betrayed him.... umm excuse me what????

Like hell he has the right to think that she betrayed him!!! This man did every shitty thing he could do to her. She wanted to marry him and he for his revenge ruined his first time meeting her parents and gave a very bad impression. And let's not talk about the absurd way he so called took his revenge..... their were so many ways to ruin a person but he chose the worst possible option. He with his own hands knowingly broke the FL's heart.

He got released from jail after 8 yrs and that so he was released earlier, means he had more years left of his sentence...... so this bastard wanted and expected the FL to wait for him for god knows how many years, when he didn't tell her anything about his plan and made her believe that he was taking revenge on her mother...... any normal girl would never have waited for him (but our FL is not normal)

This book is supposed to be romance, but it had everything but romance. FL was obsessed with ML. She felt that she could be her real self with him (their was another much better guy who wanted her but I don't know why she felt she could be herself with only the ML).

And ML.... well she loved him and pampered him no body except her could handle him maybe that's why he was with her. He loved her but she was never his priority. His priority was his revenge or his dreams never her. She herself said that he never once took her to a restaurant or gave her flowers....I mean this was supposed to be romantic??? In whole novel he was always busy with his work or his revenge and she did everything according to his schedule.

They were supposed to give an entrance exam for masters degree, FL waited for him till the last minute but he never came and his phone was off, she went to find him and she saw him sleeping. He obviously wasn't going to give his exam but he didn't tell her, he let her wait for him while he slept at home.

This book had nothing but drama and revenge but even the revenge was not completed.... and don't mention the romance hell for the whole college arc I never felt he loved her.... like maybe but never love.

Read something else, the ML is just plain selfish and his love is also selfish this book is not worth it. <<less

An unmotivated, easy going, and smart girl who would rather curse in her inner monologue than voice out her true thoughts is drawn to a prideful, uncompromising, undaunted, and clever boy. Their interactions are so real that it gives life to the story.

It is a delightful and amusing read. More information after completion.

I got curious from the title and summary as had no idea what exactly this story and from the premise it sound interesting.

Basically about our MC and her life as a programming student. Our ML is the never seen programming genius that had and acts like a troubled kid and thus, MC felt a sense of rivalry to beat him initially.

Now as a dying college student at the moment I am too bitter to read a story about a first year student who have no struggle studying and programming.

This is really good. The characters real feelings are communicated by their actions while their thoughts and words are a sort of camouflage. It can be confusing. I like this style a-lot and the translator conveys it beautifully. Couldn't mtl 2nd book so really looking forward to the translation :-p

The drama version of this novel is so much more better. I did not feel that the ML loved her at all in this so her devotion to him in the novel made no sense to me. In drama version, at least you can really feel that he falls for her and their relationship is cute. In the novel, it's just toxic. I will recommend to skip the novel and just watch the garam.

This book is so good. After reading first few chapters I wanted to drop this but I was looking for some university romance. Since I couldn't find anything so I tried to read this. Bur honestly this book is much better than I thought.

Its a really good story. I love how realistic the characters are. They dont just fall in love wih each other; there's attraction, getting to know each other phase. The arr flawed, yes, but that makes them relatable than other perfect characters out there.

The translation is superb, as expevted from Twelve Months of May.
