Zhan Xi’s requirements for a partner have always been simple. He doesn’t need to be tall or handsome, just healthy with a stable job. Most importantly, he must be interesting enough to make her laugh with his wit and conversation – after all, she considers herself a boring person.

But after searching and searching, she found someone who didn’t meet any of her requirements.

This person is tall and handsome, makes a living crafting small accessories, and always just smiles at her without speaking.

Zhan Xi: I’ll put up with it.

Luo Jingyu: ?

Zhan Xi: I accept it!

Luo Jingyu: ?

Zhan Xi: Fine, fine, I’m in love.

Luo Jingyu: ^_^

The Boring Miss vs The Lonely Mister

One-to-one relationship, both characters are strong, happy ending. Male lead is hearing-impaired. A sweet urban love story.

The story involves descriptions of hot-pressing flower crafts and other handmade creations. While technically supported, some creative liberties and artistic exaggerations have been taken for the plot. Please don’t fact-check too strictly.

Luo Jingyu once told Zhan Xi a story.

Long ago, marine biologists tracked the sound of a whale in the ocean. It was healthy, but never had any companions, mates, or children, which made the scientists very curious.

They discovered that while normal whales vocalize at 12-25 hertz, this whale sang at 52 hertz. This meant that other whales couldn’t hear its signals.

Driven by instinct, this lonely whale migrated between the Arctic and the equator every year, singing its lonely song in the vast ocean, never meeting another of its kind.

Zhan Xi rested her chin in her hand as she watched Luo Jingyu, watching his beautiful hands form graceful symbols in front of him.

She suddenly realized that he was like that lonely whale, always searching for someone who could understand his song.

The story was very well done and quite wholesome, with only a couple parts that were slightly frustrating so I gave the story a 5 star.

Rating the translation though would be different. The translations that are listed are fine with no real glaring issues, the problem comes from quite a large amount of chapters cut off early. I stopped keeping track at some point but I would say about 20-30% of the 81 chapters are incomplete. Not every incomplete chapter is a huge detriment to the overall story but I... more>> would much rather read everything the author wrote. Its quite tedious but I just kept a tab open of the MTL and every time I finished a chapter on the translations I would check to see if there was more. So anyone looking to read this just keep that in mind and if you finished a chapter while some people were mid dialogue or something and the next chapter starts on a totally different topic you know there was probably something cut off. <<less

Love love love the novel. I love how they slowly grew from like to love. And the strength and respect they give to each other. I did have to MTL some parts that was missing in the translated site, which was annoying.

I was hesitant to read this at first but this turned out to be such a masterpiece. I love the character development of both lead characters and how they surpassed their difficulties together. The misunderstandings weren't dragged out and side characters were fleshed out with their own intentions and imperfections. Definitely a must read if you like modern romance novels. Just hoping the side stories get translated too!

This is the best thing I have ever read. The first 30 chapters I couldn't stop smiling, and after that the tears started flowing. I like that the main characters are so lively, not stereotypical, they know how to listen to each other and there are no misunderstandings. This reading is like a breath of fresh air among all these highly rated templates. I am amazed that people give this work a low rating.

Reading this without high expectation turn out it's such very good novel. The self development of both main characters is good building, even the brother development is satisfying. And I love how they face their problems together. For me the story is heart wrenching, but sweet at the same time. After I finish it, look for the author, and no wonder this book is such beautiful piece. It comes from Han Yan, the same author as My Mister Ostrich. She/he writes the social prejudice, inferiority, and unfairness of dissability people... more>> really well.

I hope the side stories are being translated too. <<less
